This Ayden Heaven signing means Amorin took a detailed look at Kukonki and does not feel he is ready.

Next player we will poach from Assanal is Max Dowman. Insha Fenibeso.

For me, Rashford’s lack of commitment and general demeanor is more damning. Pogba also said he wanted a new challenge but his efforts on the pitch , though not 100% what I expected, was still much better than Rashford’s.

Players egos at United is too much and unfortunately their talent and actual output is nowhere near the heights they’ve placed themselves and cannot match their egos.

Rashford thought he was a shiny object and decided to act like one. Unfortunately, he’s found he’s not, and penkelemensis don happen now.

At the same time, Amorim should take his personal feelings aside and be more diplomatic when annswering questions about Rashford. We need to sell him for good money.

Cos in the next presser now, all the questions from journos will be about his last comment on Rashford. The noise. It doesn’t help Amorim. It doesn’t help Rashford. It doesn’t help Man Utd.
100%.

Amorin continually bashing Rashford helps only the journalists.

It does not benefit Rashy. Amorin can bash him until the rapture, Rashy won’t change his behaviour.

It also does more damage to Amorin and the club as it will make it increasingly difficult to offload Rashy, and when we do it will be for peanuts.

If you want to sell your used car you don’t go about telling people about how unreliable it is and how the engine overheats and chops fuel.

Landmark judgment in Nigeria

A Daniel is come to judgement!

Landmark judgement indeed. This is a watershed moment in the history of Nigerian jurisprudence.

The days of Amaka disappointing and Anwuli chopping money and leaving are numbered.

We still need more technical players in the squad unfortunately. We our squad to be both physical and technical. Else our “suffering “ like Amorim calls it, will never end.
Definitely. Every single player we buy should combine both qualities. We should stop buying players with huge deficiency in one of the qualities like AWB (huge technique deficiency) or Eriksen (huge physical deficiency).

He’s going to renew his contract with Bayern.

We are paying for our incompetence by selling Alvaro when we have Shaw and Malacia as doctors. Harry Amass is also there to be developed, we’ve neglected him. If we now buy this Dorogi with plenty money and he turns out to be on the level of Amass, I go vex. And we just signed a new 18 yo LB from South America who will join up next summer.

This club leaves things too late when it comes to signing players for important positions where cover is needed. And when they eventually sign a player, na so so potential wey no go boom until 2-3 years dem go dey sign.
Amass is out of the picture. We are going to sell him for PSR.

He is another potential loser in the tactical change. I don’t think he has the engine to play WB the way Amorim wants it. I think Alvaro Fernandez would have the same problem if we recalled him so that is also dead on arrival.

We are going for physical specimens like Dorgu and Diego Leon rather than technicians. Amass and Alvaro are both technicians. If we buy Drogue that would likely make Amass 3rd choice LB.

Mantato and maybe Kamason are the best suited for Amorin’s system. Another option is converting a winger like Ethan Williams.

He is not the first to slip or be outmuscled by Haaland, dem plenty for that table. What matters is he'd done enough to slow Haaland down to where Cuku had caught up, but Sanchez decided to wreck everything
Very sagacious point you made there 😀 but if he was still on his feet and in good position rather than lying prostrate on the floor like an obsequious serf he might have been in position to block the shot.

Sanchez clowned up there but your boy did not cover himself in glory either.

Collyer is better than Ugarte and Mainoo in this Amorim setup, he is very mobile, fast and doesn't jog around like Mainoo something do. I would like to see him start more, he will make mistakes like he did today but he will learn and become a better player with time..
That’s why I wanted to see Collyer and Bruno midfield which the coach played today. It would be good to see them against an EPL team to better assess them.

Kimbeast is right on this one.

If you say a pundit (whether as a shitty player) has no right to criticize a player, then we sef no suppose talk at all.

Imagine saying someone whose job actually requires him to criticise footballers has no right to criticise but you whose job is actually to support footballers ( as a football supporter) has such a right.

People, some of who could not make their secondary school team or even their class team are good enough to criticise professional footballers but those who went beyond that and were actual pros have no right.

Very makanaki something.

The TV right money which I contribute to gives me that right. I don't criticize Fernabache players, I don't watch them cos I can't pay to watch them.

I also expect pundits to criticize in a constructive and professional manner. That's what they are paid to do.
So you think that those retired millionaire footballers who have homes with their families living in them do not contribute to TV right money?

Or is it that you think they are homeless and live in the TV studio?

Na when they attack managers I dey always laugh until they themselves are on the hot seat like Henry and Neville.

No matter how average we think a professional footballer is, they still have more authority analysing a game than spectators.
100%. Or at least we can’t have more authority than them.

Carragher made PFA Team of the Year, played over 500 times for Liverpool, and he was their player of the season at least once.

He is often biased but is not a scrub that is not qualified to criticise current players.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 4:10pm On Jan 23, 2025
swiz123:
The thing is, Carragher does destructive criticism. When doing a job you are paid to do, least expectation is that you act professionally.

Calling a player greedy is an unprofessional language, and he could have handled the Szczesny comment better.
Yeah he can be biased and emotional and I don’t generally like his style but I think when he analyses details of games he is actually decent.

My point though is that it is funny to have engineers, doctors, accountants, lawyers etc gather on a forum set up essentially to criticise footballers, now turn around and say that an ex-footballer with decent accomplishments is not qualified to criticise footballers.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 3:58pm On Jan 23, 2025
swiz123:
He asked which goalkeeper committed that blunder for Barca, they told him Szczesny and he immediately said he knew he has always been an average goal keeper.

Carragher talking about talking about someone being average sounds comedy to me.
The issue though is that if an ex-professional footballer with international caps to his name can’t criticise a current player’s game then who can?

I see people who never played even monkey post or never went past playing table soccer criticising players on TV, social media, and even here on Nairaland.

I don’t think the network being an issue here has to do with the telcos increasing their prices to match cost but it’s always been like that and the indigenes confirmed it

I bought a small itel phone and glo sim thinking glo works more in those rural part but glo turned out the worse

All the networks bar airtel are worse here cause airtel is just a lil better

ETH did okay in his first and second. It went downhill the third season. That’s understandable, which is why very few teams have the same manager after three years. And the reason a new manager comes on board is for another perspective and new ideas to help the team.
