As a naija matter they are all in on it.

Average Nigerian ethics don cast longest time

Me sef I weak when a former colleague with very good pay, very good alternative stream of income wanted us to pay him direct instead of paying the person he referred to us. As in we agreed 80 to 100k and he was going to eat 30 to 40 of this.

Full fledged alfa for that matter. This was in 2019.
Makes me value our unity and support when we were in the Caribbean. Some people came around and did not get jobs for 12-18 months and the funds they came with from Naija finished. Other guys were basically feeding and housing them. Carnival time they will even arrange tickets to parties and raves for the ones without jobs. If you are lucky, they might even find a mentee for you.

That is how we did it. This one where people are obtaining and exploiting their own guys is shameful.

The person is not his friend o, na like "auntie". You know all these people that ur mum and their mum are friends but the person is much older than u? That's the kind of relationship they had.

The way he found out the information was the reason he couldn't tell her. The person that leaked the information to him had him promise not to divulge the source of the information. At some point the "auntie" seized his BRP and passport, he had to fight them to retrieve the documents. It was a serious matter, he thought of reporting them but if he did they will all land back here in Nigeria because those people don't even have genuine papers.

Because he didn't want them going about saying the person they helped abroad led to their deportation, he had to just let it slide and accept to be paying them in installment.
SMH.

The way we dey wicked ourselves sometimes dey very bad. So much inhumanity to man wey we dey do ourselves as Nigerians. Imagine "helping" someone and the person ultimately feels victimized.

But make we no lie, the sellers are actually very wicked to their fellow countryman.

I know of someone who was assisted by a "family friend" to procure COS to relocate to London. The family friend is actually very close to him o; I mean this guy's mum and the mum of the person that helped him with the COS are childhood friends from Lagos Island.

When he got in, he discovered that the agency that sold the COS actually does not have shifts to give him to enable him earn money and start paying his bills and the cost of COS debt. The person that helped him with COS now told him she bought the COS for 10k with her money and he must refund her ASAP.

This guy nearly ran mad because he was under immense pressure, the agency is not assigning shift to him and he has 10k debt on his neck. After dragging the yeye agency for a while and threatening to report them to home office for fraud, they now revealed to him that they sold the COS to his "auntie" for 2.5k and not 10k she was trying to collect from him.

In the long run the guy had to go look for another care job sponsorship and transferred to another agency. He had no choice but to start paying the 10k in bits of 500 per month.

Imagine someone making a gain of as much as 7.5k on COS that did not even give u shift. That's not trying to survive, that is wickedness. Most Nigerians in the UK wicked gan o.

Many are broke. Charly and his government don tax all the blood comot their body. The pay is generally not that much sef before the tax.

Why didn't the guy let his friend know that he had found out it was 2.5k and not 10k? What would have happened if he had just repaid 2.5k and not 10k?

How long can we fight human nature?

You have guys from the previous regime like Antony receiving 200k and Mason Mount on 300k with no premier league goals. That conversation will be had inevitably. I’m just glad were not going to have it now but if you think Amad or his people won’t fantasise about what could or should be, then you’re stratospheric as Jules Verne

I agree that we should avoid paying young uns big bucks so they don’t get ruined like Rash and Sancho but these thoughts will creep up at some point. Its guarantee-able.
My point is that it is too early mention it now like you are doing. Amad has a chance to go to very top. Let him put back-to-back seasons together first and try to make TOTY at least, then we can start talking about increasing his salary. His contact runs until 2030 so there is no rush.

All those previous big salaries were mistakes which i warned about even when they were being handed out. That was when people used to say things like "is it your money", not realizing that we were handicapping ourselves in a multitude of ways. We can't use such previous mistakes to justify making further mistakes with our current young players.

You too dey go hard on players.

You were also going hard on Amad till he scored. Garnacho is improving. Mainoo is trying his best also. Youth players na your investment o. No be to dey sell them anyhow.
The guy is just a hater.

Imagine saying Amad and Mainoo are in the same age bracket. When Amad was Mainoo's age 3 years ago, he was struggling to make an impact in the Scottish League.

Not to take anything away from Amad right now. I rep his set and fly his color.

We however have to give other young players (the ones with potential) a bit more time to develop and show their ability too.

Mainoo needs to sit on the bench especially when we are playing the lower teams. His play is too lethargic to progress the ball and Amorim need to stop playing Bruno on the wings. It's killing our attacking threats.

We've seen the experiment before, Bruno on the wings is a failed experiment.

I'm not sure Collyer is ready to be a starter yet though.

Sooner or later, he will have to be given a chance to start and then we can see for sure.

Mainoo needs to improve on his work rate and stamina. That is what his making him struggle. The technique and intelligence are there. You need to move quickly off the ball to be in position to receive the ball. He does not move quickly enough into position.

You also need to move quickly out of possession to close down opposition attackers. He does not do that consistently enough. When Dibling turned Martinez in midfield Mainoo was meant to be the covering midfielder, but he kept jogging behind them.

Amad don dey creep up towards upper echelon levels but he was not very good until late in the game. We desperately need attack-minded WBs.

Dreadful team performance. Let us just put it to post-extra time fatigue.

Una don start. On the back of a few upcoming performances?

Let us keep things modest with these young players. 120k is okay for now. Rashy and Martial's downfall was accelerated by the 250k they got so early in their careers.

You're right about the contract but anyone offer around 50m. I'd take it.

My only issue is we have a really poor record singing great players. So we'd probably waste the money.
This one that we are hovering just above relegation zone, only players who are completely out of the picture like Rashy, Eriksen, Casemiro should be offloaded this January.

If we want to sell Garnacho i think we should wait until the summer. If we sell him now that money will likely not be used well this window and that means we will be severely shorthanded in the front 3.

MLS has always played on the edge, however, the intensity of that edge, alongside the confidence was on another level today and I could tell.

I like how Arteta has managed his integration into the first team. Playing alongside Saliba and Gabu has been massive for his development on the defensive end. I don’t want him in the middle just yet because it is a way more difficult role that can overwhelm his development… Make e no go end up like Mainoo grin

I believe the midfield is his future but it has to be a slow cook. I liken it to what Ebening did with Saka when Saka emerged.
LOL. He is a bit different to Mainoo in that he depends slightly more on physicality while Mainoo depends more on technique. He would also have the support of Declan Rice who is a tank in disguise. I was always waiting for them to play together in the junior teams, but they kept missing each other. Mainoo always left the age group just before MLS got there. That double pivot would have been wicked.

P.S Mainoo never end up like anything. grin
Na normal 2nd season challenges in a dysfunctional team.

“This game means more. I prepare the same, but it’s the feeling going into the game with the fans. You’ve got to give it everything and more.

I have never seen the guy not play with aggression or passion sha. That is the only way he knows. He would probably show more as he gets stronger and more used to the level. The only thing i want to see is how he reacts to that first big contract. That is the major stumbling block of boys that grew up in roadman culture.

Anyways i am happy for him. He has a real chance. Arteta should bounce Merino from midfield and put him there for 1-2 games. Let us check something.

The NLD means more for kids from Hale and you can see it with the degree of passion MLS showed today. He is also gaining incredible experience playing alongside Saliba and Gabu.
You of all people should know that is the way he plays, NLD or not. It would have been interesting to see him in his natural position instead of Merino (vs United).

Do we win that game against Arsenal with Onana in goal?

Not trying to say Bayindir is better because he isnt but in terms of the penalty saves. I dont think Onana saves them even if he guesses right as both pens were right in the corner and were great saves. Onana doesnt seem to have the reach at all.
I don’t think Onana saves either penalty. Both penalties were well struck towards the side netting and like you said Onana is shorter and would probably not have been able to get to them.
