People say don't. Me I did and it had no adverse effect. I don't think there are general rules to some of these things. You might want to align with the majority who don't term it as government work

Sorry to bother how long ago did you submit your passport. I also need to know when one gets the passport back from vfs. Anyone who submitted recently? Thanks

@ bolded: who says you cannot? I did, visa has been issued because i can see the details on my CIC page, just awaiting pick up mail. You only need to take a new set when leaving so that you can use that for PR card application.

I even decided on the school my son will go to if we were ever able to get a house within the boundary of the school board. I have researched and researched, now it feels like I already live in Canada (except for the cold. grin). I appreciate the Planning for Canada session I was privileged to attend. It’s a pity that the opportunity may end soon. It really helped with my planning.

It seems like LVO timeline is 6months +few weeks. Anyway I always rejoice whenever I hear of any ppr from that office

You will be fine and most likely get PPR in the new month. I was in LVO too and got PPR 2 weeks after the 6 months mark. It's a harrowing wait but God will come through for you

you're welcome. You should consider staying 6 months though. Refund costs with interest accrued years later easily runs into 6 figures.....plus rules change everyday. Last year a dui for a pr meant nothing, this year it could mean inability to renew pr. It's ultimately your decision though.

I am following this discussion with keen interest because i am in the same situation and I intend to go to Alberta as well. It's short landing as well but short landing for 4 to 5 months (length of my maternity leave). Can I complete the last month anytime within the one year or it has to be 6 months at a stretch. Thanks.

Quick one, I got an ADR and submitted 3 days ago, the current status of my "Review of additional documents" just changed to "Not applicable" without a notification in my mail(Ghost update).
Forgive my anxiety lol but please is that a good sign?

You are not I sent naija. The vfs babe said I should have just sent his passport photos and won't have paid for my son's cos they won't stamp it. I sent naija cos my friend did same and it came back stamped when they got back their passports

Quick one please. Is the affidavit done at the ministry of justice by the commissioner for oaths same as the one done in the court? I'm asking because i have typed and printed the affidavit, I'm sitting at the ministry of justice waiting to pay the fee and submit for signing by the commissioner for oaths. Where city are you in. I did mine in Lagos and there are guys that hang around the court you give 1k to and they bring it back to you. I think it's stamped by the commissioner of Oaths

How do i resolve this one now? Do i swear an affidavit of "one and the same person" alone or what?

Lol. Na so oo. People should not overdo it o. Anyways the guy I hear responds to people only once. People that have sent him follow on messages never got replies.

This has been one of the longest wait in my life. IELTS September 9 maxed my points, husband maxed IELTS too. WES took normal time I evaluated only my masters.

AOR Jan 13th
First ADR was for my husband's passport data pages they wanted all his travel history, I initially scanned only his current passport then I had to scan and send his previous passports.

Mass IP2 happened in Feb 27th. Then silence, ordered first GCMS notes in May and London had not touched my file. Sent London an email and they said awaiting initial review.

I got another ADR 3RD of July for last 3 months statement showing salary deposits. I sent the next day and attached my pay slips for 6 months. Then another silence. I then sent an email to Ralph Goodale MP of public safety and he responded and said my assessments were complete and interview was waived after I uploaded the requested documents.

I went ahead and renewed my passport has it had less than 6 months validity. My son's passport had expired and I raised a CSE and also sent an email no response. When I crossed 6 months no response even after emails and CSE. 9 am this morning got PR.

I want to thank you guys sincerely. @glitteringstar thanks @Newmum0615 @balogunsam and everyone.

Just to note that no two applications are same. For instance I didn't upload thumb prints for my Nigeria police report. In My mind since I didn't Do for the UK I didn't have to, I was scared when pple started saying it was necessary. My employment I claimed points for I got reference letter on plain sheet and notorized it then included my employ ment letter and my former boss's ID. My new employer was a breeze as I got that in the required format. Funds were gift deed, mutual funds and pension. Also I put my NYSC as paramilitary that was what I felt it was. I hear this also has it's drawbacks

Just a brief highlight: 

POF - Gift Deed (50%), 3 months statement of Dorm account and 6months statement of Naira Account (50%). I got a reference letter from Fcmb but not in the IRCC format as the lady said no before I could ask...lol.


ECA - I made a mistake earlier but by God's grace,  it was corrected before my file assessment began. I started my document evaluation with IQAS on 31st July 2017, sent my Bsc only and got acknowledgment on the 5th of September and after that i came across a post tslking sbout 2 or certificates. So i contacted IQAS and after several pleas, they agreed that i send another certificate while my file will be put on hold until they receive the new documents. After several challenges encountered in the school, my documents got to IQAS on september 26th. Received new acknowledgement October 25th and ECA arrived exactly 25mins after i made my ielts. 

 *Conclusion: Two or more certificates* .


IELTS - Listening humbled me big time but in all I give thanks to God and my sweet boo who after every attempt was so encouraging and prayerful. My attempts below;

Sep. 30 2017 - 2nd Attempt

Oct. 28 2017 - 3rd Attempt

So, these people did not only go to I and hubby's LinkedIn profile, they checked my our Facebook as well, checked out our wedding portfolio pics online (the one done by the photographer), checked my UK school graduation ceremony announcement that showed an online copy of the brochure showing names of graduands, online copy of church bulletin showing church dedication announcement for my son. Whew! These people checked everything. How did I know?
The links were listed right there on the GCMS notes I just received last night. Heading on the notes: Online Presence: Yes.

London is not joking. Long story cut short, clean up your online profile my people.

Serious lock down. I was telling them today to cancel my application, let me go to Oshogbo, they said they would recapture and recreate my file. My file don loss.

You need to come and see rubbished and abandoned files. Without the file they cannot produce the passport, if u are not in a VIP position or connection in Nigeria.

You can't even check anything.

I am waiting for their call for the recapturing.. Whatever that means.

If u have the means don't go to Ikoyi passport office.

Hmm. I finally got mine yesterday. The guy who helped me said the government is trying to phase out this current passport to another with better security feature. Hence the delay and since they produce it in Malaysia it also takes a while to get here. But according to him,some got to Lagos on Monday but they have plenty backlog
