That's not NASA aircraft, Nigerian police bought Cessna Citation II jet and that is the photo with NPF name on it. Who is NASA ?

Thiza: South African companies Integcomm and Saab Grintek Technologies, along with giant European aerospace and defence group EADS, have won a nearly R1-billion contract from the South African Police Service (SAPS) to install EADS' digital Terrestrial Trunked Radio (Tetra) network in the Eastern Cape.

The network will integrate Tetra and WiMax technology and will allow mobile video transmission, as well as police command and control and 10111 (police-only emergency phone number) dispatching.

The programme will start in April and take five years to complete. It will involve the installation of more than 200 base stations and some 10 000 terminals.

This network will be fully compatible with the next generation Tetra enhanced data service, thus ensuring an easy migration to this new wide band data service.

I don't care how many you claim to have on paper, most of them will NOT be operational like your Gripen jets.

Nigerian police has helicopters and jet aircraft, so show me SA Police jet and show me what you have that we don't have, maybe Soweto police has space rockets. I also want to see your police electronic jammers like Nigeria's below...

patches689: SANDF Africas leaders in Datalink technology - Complete integration to the smallest squad level!! Unheard of capabilities!!

He reckons it has been worth it for the SANDF. “Watching a communications system work is watching paint dry”. Since the standard stabilised two years ago, the SANDF gained access to a protocol that is fairly low cost from an implementation point-of-view and that can be modified to meet future needs,” Hanley says. “It allows them to easily and seamlessly exchange information which enhances command and control, it shortens the sensor to shooter time loop, thereby enhancing weapon control and it boosts situational awareness by helping answer the critical battlefield questions of ‘where am I?’, ‘where are my buddies?’, ‘where is the enemy?’, and ‘what next?’” For the artillery, it has brought down the time from when an observer spots a target to when the first round is fired at it from six to 10 minutes to just 90 seconds. “You can just about hit a moving truck,” says Hanley.

Thiza: South African Highway Patrol which Nigeria doesn't have or you call Fight Fire by Fire a responce Team
Look here photo merchant, Nigeria has thousands of highway patrol vehicles including bullet proof high speed NPF-FHP and FRSC SUVs.

We also have marine police with world class high speed boats armed with 12.7mm high calibre guns.

The 10 photos I posted today is enough to match anything called Police inside your South Africa.

If you never travel outside your Soweto cage where your Boer-Whiteman masters have locked you up since over 100 years ago, you will never know how advanced other African countries have moved fast forward beyond the lies your leaders tell you in South Africa. They deceive you that the rest of Africa outside your country is a village. Big lie, go show this nairaland thread to your fellow South African cavemen.

Nigerian Police even has jet aircraft, what do you have more than that in Soweto police? Space Rocket to the moon ?

MikeZA: EM,ECM,ECCM? Lmaoooo.

What's new to you,is what we've been doing in the 80s.

Past glory and experience? Looool

Your air force has never fired a single missile in combat.

The SAAF flew in world War 1 until today. SA is more experience operating jets unlike some whom crumble when hit with mild sanctions and had to put jets in the freezer.
World war I and II air combat is not useful today where missiles and electronics rule the air.

South Africa has ZERO experience of 4th Generation air combat with jets carrying seeker head missiles, your Mirage F-1 Vs MiG-23 combat of 1980s is an ancient warfare. Only Ethiopia and Eritrea have modern jet vs jet combat experience in all Africa, even Egypt doe not have such experience.

Stop boasting of what you do NOT have...Fraudster !

Stop calling and anti-aircraft missile a ground attack missile. Show me where DENEL tested Umkhonto in real live firing test against ground targets. A heat seeking missile, how does it strike a cold cement building? Fool grin

This is a claim by Beegeagles.

False or True.#trap
No, that photos is Bofos FH-77A of Nigerian army NOT FH-77B version.

We have 25 units FH-77A older version and 48 units FH-77B newer longer range version. Nigeria has total 73 units of Bofors FH-77 both types.

How many times will we repeat this same old topic ? 1,000 times ? Mumu grin

FighterPilot: The pseudo-giant of Africa who has fallen from grace. What a shame and disgrace!!!! The army of which was once regarded as bulldozer has now been reduced into small boys by jihadist militia. What a shame!!! The whole uniform is now hanging on the tree for all to see how weak Nigerian military is. Even the likes of Djibouti are now flexing their muscles for this small mouse parading as pseudo-giant of Africa. What a shame!!!
Maybe you are in jail and don't have access to Tv news.

Nigerian army has wiped out a whole forest full of Boko Haram bases in Balmo forest, every living thing called Boko in that forest was attacked by Nigerian army and were k.illed or captured with all their weapons seized. SANDF has not been to war for 20 years till now, untested cowards grin.

Nigeria is fighting an Islamic insurgency, yes a war 10 times more difficult than South African bush war Vs Cuba in Angola.

The worlds best military in terms of war records of victory is the Israeli army and air force. The Israelis with all their world class military might have lost about 64 soldiers k.illed by the Islamic Jihadists you talk about. In 30 days, Israeli army lost 64 soldiers including over 20 Majors, Captains, Lieutenants, and Non-Commissioned officers, all in 30 days. May they rest in peace as true heroes.

Nigerian army casualty rate is less than that of Israeli army, and now we are rated as the best COIN war fighters in Africa, even Egypt cannot match us.

If South African army fights the kind of war Nigeria and Israel is fighting, SANDF will lose 1,000 soldiers in one month. Your army has zero experience in fighting an 'invisble' enemy that mixes with civilians and wears civilian clothes.

SANDF officers came to Nigerian army school this year for COIN lessons, we learn war, we teach lazy cowards like SANDF who ran away from Seleka rebels that they can even see, a clearly visible enemy ....Soweto cowards grin

Thiza: Looking for a smoking gun to discredit SANDF.... remember Nigeria is worse and nothing more than a rudimentary rag tag army
THIZA the senior fotografa of SANDF, I have been watching you run your basket mouth like a comedian grin

You posted photos of South African air force second hand American free gift to 3rd world hand me down C-130 Hercules transport aircraft grin

Well, I need to inform you that Nigeria is the only country in sub-saharan Africa with the bigger/stretched version C-130 Hercules transport planes.

We also have many other NAF transport aircraft like Dornier 228 and Aliena G-222.

There is NO weapon/equipment in South Africa that Nigeria does not have an answer to. Go and boast to Lesotho-Burundi.

So, SAAF is a rag-tag air force with donated rag-tag American second hand half used C-130 Hercules....NAF gets Naija brand new C-130s

patches689: Our Army is 70,000 strong (professionals only)
You are a fraudster. South African army is only 39,000 men active and 12,000 men reserve. Numbers will be less by new retrenchment, soon your weak army will get weaker and shrink smaller to Cameroon's size.

Army: 39 445*

patches689: Show me where he said we are 66 years behind Nigeria.

And airframe is 66 years old

It does not mean the equipment in it is 66 years old.

Filthy liar.
Your own air force chief confessed openly like w.itches and w.izards that his SAAF flies 66 year old Dakota aircraft as MPA and was crying bitter agonizing tears to buy Nigerian air force's current 2014 level of ATR-42 Surveyor MPA and Beechcraft 350 ER aircraft.

That simply means South Africa is 66 years behind Nigeria in MPA/ISTAR warfare....SANDF will wait till 2014 + 66 = year 2080 to reach Nigeria's level.

FACT !

patches689: 20km is longer than the range of your SAM's. Meaning we can kill your SAM facilities from safety. We also have long range artillery and rocket batteries.

So, its the definition of a stand-off munition.

slowpoke.
Stand-off munitions are guided weapons that home on precise target. Ordinary free fall artillery shells are NOT defined as stand off munition.

Dumbo domingo grin grin

Nigeria has land based Type 90 guns that is built to sh.oot down missiles and bombs, we also have H/PJ 17 CIWS guns on our F91 stealth warships to shoot down missiles and bombs.

SANDF should go test it's missiles and bombs on Botswana, that is where it can work.

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust:
MikeZA: Typical Beegeagles blogger.

You don't know what you're talking about.

I won't bother explaining the capabilities of the project Legend's Chaka C2 systems, which include blue force tracking. And compatible with the Link-ZA.

SANDF artillery corps's AS-2000 targeting system and new Skyshield air defense will be linked via Link-ZA MIL-STD data link. Meaning a Gripen can detect a helicopter and fed the info in real time displaying on the screens of the GBADS command computer.

Or ISTAR equipment acquired under project cytoon can fed enemy positions to the AS-2000 artillery targeting computer. All in near time, scouts(SA army Intel corps personnel) can "train" artillery guns on enemy targets.

Superior Command and control.
South Africa has superior command and control over Namibia, NOT Nigeria.

Dude, you mean Algeria that spends on weapons many times more than South Africa has no data-links for Algerian military ?

SIPRI or UN arms log will not record any country's data-links installations because it is NOT a weapon or combat equipment, it is a mere satellite two way communication network of data linked together on a number of equipment like aircraft, ships, and vehicles at the same time.

You SA guys make it sound like data links is a nuclear weapon....All South Africans dumbo domingos grin grin

See, Nigeria has data links but we don't make noise about it, sure Egypt will have..or how do they match Israel. Sure Algeria will have from their multi-billion dollar defence budget.

Now look....Nigeria has ISR aircraft that have data-links that are connected to many ground stations and other different equipment. At Nigeria's level of sophistication, our 3 armed forces can exchange information on-line real time via data-links from aircraft to warships to ground stations and major ground equipment.

In case you dont know, data-links depends 100% on satellite network and Nigeria is far ahead of South Africa in satellite technology, so it means Nigeria has satellites and supports it's data-links by them, but South Africa has NO single satellite and therefore depends on another country's satellites to connect SANDF data-links, the day you offend them, they just disconnect your data-link and you enter hot pepper soup.

You Soweto guys here are NOT telecoms or satcoms experts, so stop yapping about data-links when you know next to nothing about the detailed engineering of how it actually works.

You don't know that even different types of data links that are totally different and irrelevant to each other, can be integrated to work together via a coordinating translator/correlator. So you guys should stop claiming to be experts of a technology that you know less than 1% of.

Nigeria has data-links and includes both fixed and mobile ground stations data-link network integrated systems as well as linked to different weapons/equipment/platforms including our very small ISR Diamond aircraft you do not even know about....

2013 upgrade contract with U.S. Navy & Private Contractor

Nigerian Air Force upgrades Diamond intelligence aircraft
Posted by: Ade Tayo in Latest News 08/05/2013

The U.S. Navy is working with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to enhance their intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities by upgrading equipment on two Diamond DA-42 aircraft and associated ground stations, according to contract documents released Monday through the Federal Business Opportunities website.

The Navy is seeking a contractor to upgrade ISR equipment on two DA-42 Diamond Twin Star aircraft, data links and antennas of existing fixed ground stations, and provide two new portable ground stations, training, optional spares and an optional Field Service Representative.

All modifications, testing, delivery, and training shall be performed in Nigeria, the Navy said in contract documents.

The contractor will be responsible for uninstalling all existing aircraft and fixed ground station ISR equipment made obsolete by the upgraded equipment, the Navy said. This equipment shall remain the property of the NAF."
