I'm of contrary opinion. We make education to seem to be some kind of restrictions as you stated. First you note that education is far way beyond the walls of learning. Education opens us up to possibilities. It unveils your strength before us. Education Makes an engineer to KNOW that he/she can succeed in business.
The key word in education is learning to know and it can come via any medium

I agree with you to some extent. The problem is people trying to study courses based on expected pay and some even attending higher institutions in Nigeria just to obtain a certificate that will enable them earn a salary better than a secondary school certificate holder.

The western world is advancing because people seek more knowledge in areas they are interested in and have passion.

Example is the guy in the thread below who had so much passion for drawing that he even had to get beaten just to have the opportunity to see what the senior students were drawing .

A young artist, Etuk Unyime recently drew a picture of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Gov. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, using the new made in Akwa Ibom pencil and the governor seemed really happy about it.

According to the artist who is from Akwa Ibom State, the drawing was done strictly with AKEES pencil and charcoal.

According to him, he did it in a bid to support made in Akwa Ibom products. “I am from Akwa Ibom and I support made in Akwa Ibom products.” He wrote.

Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped 14 passengers traveling to Port-Harcourt, Rivers State to Warri, Delta State.
According to Punch, the news emerged on Thursday, July 7, but the incident occurred on Monday near Rumoji in Port-Harcourt.
It was gathered that the gunmen attacked the bus their victims were traveling in and dragged them into a nearby bush from where they were taken into hiding.
Subsequently, the hoodlums contacted the family of each victim and demanded N1 million ransom per head, the report said.
"The gunmen have reduced the ransom to N100,000 for each of the passengers," a security source told the newspaper.
"The 14-seater bus was travelling to Port Harcourt when the men waylaid it and kidnapped all occupants, including the driver."

Confirming the incident, the Commissioner of Police in Delta State, Mr. Zanna Ibrahim, said the incident occurred in Rivers State and not Delta State, his territory.

It is very difficult to school people with his mindset, 80% of youths, including so called graduates reason like this, 10% know this but are divided along nepotism, religious, ethnic loyalty lines. The remaining 10% are helpless. It is the reason why the elites takes us for a ride.

There is no immunity clause for Senators and House of Reps members. Why not arrest them?

Immunity clause is to shield political office holders from Civil cases relating to actions taken while in office. Example, a state needs to do road expansion involving demolishing of some houses. If any owner refuse to accept any form of compensation, then the governor can exercise is executive powers to give order for the house to be demolished in the best interest of the state. If Fashola gives such order as governor, the individual cannot sue Fashola to court, but Lagos state government. However if Fashola confiscates a private property for his own use then the owner can complain to the law enforcement agencies, which will present the issue to the state assembly, and the assembly will impeach him to face criminal charges in court after investigation and confirmation of the allegations against him.

How many past governors still have immunity? Why not prosecute them?
