Good day Nairalanders. Please, I need to know the proper way of placing the front-door curtain (that is: the one that leads into the house). Was it supposed to be the decorated side facing the inside house or the decorated side facing the outside. I had an argument with a friend about this subject and so decided to clarify myself through able and intelligent people on Nairaland.

If you ask me, I am of the opinion that the decorated part should face the outside because it serves as the first point of attraction to a visitor. In trying to convince my friend, I went further to tell him that I do not think the guest's gaze would be casted back to the door to check for decorations not until when he/she (the guest) is leaving the house. I agree that the decoration for the other curtains in the house should face inside as the guest's gaze would love to travel in the room and would want see things that are attractive.

Nevertheless, I gave just an ocassion where the decorated part of the front-door curtain can face inside..."if your front door is always closed" (that is, it's your door your guest sees first before getting into the house).
