2019: Timi Frank reveals how Oshiomhole allegedly collected over $50m from aspirants, vows to publish names.

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Timi Frank, has alleged that the National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, collected over $50 million from different aspirants and candidates during the primary elections of the party.

According to Frank, who is now a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, a large percentage of the money was paid to the former Edo State Government through proxies from Imo, Zamfara, Adamawa and Ogun states among others.

Report emerged recently that the Department of State Services, DSS, invited and interrogated Oshiomhole, and reportedly did ask him to resign over allegations of bribery and corruption against him.

Oshiomhole, however, told reporters that his meeting with the DSS was a mere routine conversation that held in the interest of national security.

But in a statement he personally signed and issued to DAILY POST in Abuja on Thursday, the former APC spokesman threatened to publish the names and amounts paid to lobby the National Chairman to clear aspirants and substitute names of duly elected candidates with those that failed.

According to Frank, the Department of State Services (DSS) has presented its report and findings against Oshiomhole to President Muhammadu Buhari but the President is still in dilemma on what to do.

“I dare say that this singular act of refusing to order the prosecution of Oshiomhole over sundry acts of bribery and corruption he committed as contained in the DSS report, President Buhari has shown that his APC-led administration is a stinking house of corruption.”

While expressing surprise at Oshiomhole’s latest ordeal, he said the former Labour leader will go down in history as a party chairman who had allegedly received such humongous bribe within a short period of time in office.

Frank, however, called on the President to act on the recommendations of the DSS by ordering Oshiomhole’s sack and prosecution, if his (Buhari) government is actually fighting corruption or opposition.

“We are in the know that President Muhammadu Buhari has received the DSS report on Adams Oshiomhole and Nigerians are patiently waiting for the action or inaction of his government because this is an administration that has claimed fighting corruption as an achievement.

“In the history of party administration in Nigeria, no party chairman has been accused of collecting the jaw-breaking amount of money allegedly collected within a short period in office like Comrade Oshiomhole has allegedly done.

“Instead of Oshiomhole to clear his name, he has taken to diversionary path asking the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki to resign. Nigerians are not gullible. We shall wait to see how the acclaimed anti-corruption regime will act on this particular issue.

“This same Oshiomhole has been attacking the Senate President, calling on him to resign on moral ground. Can Oshiomhole now step aside while the investigation into his financial malfeasance is ongoing to justify his much talked about morality?”

Though Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth lost their home in a deadly California wildfire, they are donating $500,000 to The Malibu Foundation through Cyrus’ charity, The Happy Hippie Foundation.

A Cyrus representative tells The Associated Press that the couple’s “community and state are very special to them and they want to give back to the place that has created so many beautiful memories for themselves and others.”

Cyrus and Hemsworth’s home was in Malibu. The statement says they “are very grateful to be safe along with their animals.”

The statement says the donation “will be used for those in financial need, emergency relief assistance, community rebuilding, wildfire prevention and climate change resilience.”

The singer tweeted Sunday that the home she shares with fiance Liam Hemsworth and her pets "no longer stands."

A "devastated" Miley Cyrus tweeted Sunday that she had lost her home to the raging California wildfires.

The singer tweeted that the house she shares with her fiance, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, and her pets "no longer stands," but that everyone including the animals were evacuated safely.

"Completely devastated by the fires affecting my community," Cyrus tweeted to her 40 million followers Sunday. "I am one of the lucky ones. My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that’s all that matters right now. My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family & friends stand strong," she added.

Cyrus went on to thank firefighters and the sheriff's department and gave information on how to donate and help with relief efforts following wildfires that have so far caused the death of 30 people.

On Tuesday, Hemsworth tweeted a picture of what was left of their home, saying, "It’s been a heartbreaking few days. This is what’s left of my house. Love. Many people in Malibu and surrounding areas in California have lost their homes also and my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by these fires."

Cyrus and Hemsworth are the latest stars to be affected by the fires. The likes of Kim Kardashian West, Rainn Wilson and Alyssa Milano were forced to evacuate their homes due to the multiple wildfires raging in both Northern and Southern California. On Sunday, Scottish actor Gerard Butler shared a picture of the charred remains of his Malibu mansion that was engulfed by the Woolsey fire.

About 40 girls have sustained various degrees of injuries in a skirmish that broke out between students of Government Girls’ College Damaturu and that of Government Girls’ Secondary School Buni Gari this morning.

Daily Post gathered that, the injured victims were taken to the emergency unit of Yobe State Specialists’ Hospital Damaturu for medical treatment

DAILY POST gathered that fight broke out among the girls when a disagreement between two girls went beyond normal. Sticks and other weapons were used in the free-for-all.

Recall that at the height of Boko Haram insurgency, Government Girls’ Secondary School Buni Gari was relocated to the Government Girls’ College Damaturu.

The National Examinations Council (NECO), has shifted the commencement date of the November/ December, 2018 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) to Nov.19.

Mr Abubakar Gana, the Acting Registrar of NECO, in a statement issued on Wednesday, recalls that the examination was earlier scheduled to commence on Nov.15.

Gana called on candidates sitting for the examination to download the new examination time table on NECO’s website: www.mynecoexams.com

“Please note that this information supersedes the earlier media publication on the commencement date for the examination.’’

The acting registrar expressed regrets over the inconveniences the change of date would cause the candidates.

The Niger State Government has spent over N3 billion on the completion and maintenance of the new neonatal hospital in Minna.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr mustapha Mohammed jibrin, disclosed this at the ministerial press briefing on Thursday.

He said the government met a debt profile of N500 million meant for the completion of the neonatal centre.

He said the debt had been offset with additional N70 million rolled out on a monthly basis to sustain a provision of N840 million earmarked annually for its operation.

“The administration of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has employed 500 health workers and 100 midwifes to fill the gap of its deficit and ongoing employment of another 250 to ensure adequate health workers for effective and efficient service delivery in the areas of Primary Health Care PHC provisions is ongoing “, he said.

He also said the government had raised the budgetary allocation of the ministry of health from 6 percent and 8 percent to 14 percent, adding that state would soon meet the Abuja declaration of 15 percent budgetary allocation to the health sector.

He said the state was close to setting up a health insurance scheme for which about N500 million had been earmarked in the 2019 appropriation.

FEMALE DANFODITE BAGS FIRST CLASS IN LAW SCHOOL

Coupled with the long list of cases and voluminous books associated with the study of law, the challenges of atmospheric condition and lengthy lectures have made it a bear for students to graduate with first class honours in the Faculty Of Law, in Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto.

However, Kareemat Ijaiya who is a 2016/17 second class upper graduate of Law in the school has bagged the first class grade in the school of law located at Lagos which appeared to be tougher than the first degree.

In this exclusive interview, Kareemat Ijaiya who hails from Offa, Kwara State disclosed how she was able to clinch such a tremendous feat.

She explained that well cramming skill and strategic formation of mnemonic which she has been doing since her days in Danfodiyo boosted her chance to attain first class:

"There are some aspects in law which you need to give them back exactly the way they were given to you if you want to get your full mark, I am a good crammer. I cram everything, so I arrange them alphabetically, form a formula with it and write it back during the exam. Though to score your full mark, you must understand every aspect of the law as it has been taught. Cramming is just an extra" she said.

She attributed the reason why students are yet to graduate with first class in UDUS to the complexity of the course, lengthy lectures and the environmental conditions, not because lecturers deliberately fail students.
"I don't think it is true that lecturers fail students. This is because law as a course in the university is a very wide course and could be seen from different perspective and dimension, this perspective, although some people believe in them that they are wrong generally or wrong for our democratic and historical setting in Nigeria. I think we students are yet to perform excellently enough to clinch the feat" she insisted .

Speaking on the difference between Danfodiyo and Law School, she explained that in terms of academic feat, Law school was tougher than Danfodiyo but the environmental conditions and challenge of long lecture time inhibited the success of students, and that has prepared her ahead for the law school. She said:

"Danfodiyo stress is more of the weather and the lengthy lecture hours, but that of law school cannot be limited to the above, it includes emotional stress, physical stress, workload, fear of the grading system and knowing there is no carry over"

On how tough was it for her to achieve the feat she said that:
"My effort was that of a person who wants to pass bar part 2 and not just pass but do better than my university degree and that was the effort that was put in by almost all the Bar part 2 students.
It's I guess God just crowned mine with a first class"

While speaking based on her reading schedule, she explained that her reading schedule was of no difference to normal serious students' schedule she said:
"I read the topic we are to be taught in class before going, and I read it immediately after we have been taught, learn the drafts and prepare for the next day"

She finally advised the upcoming law graduates not to relent their effort.

Kareemat Ijaiya would be called to bar by the end of this month, November.

17. "Avengers: Infinity War" (2018) - Lee's back in New York and completely unimpressed by Thanos and his minions in his "Infinity War" cameo. There's a fair chance he's reprising his role from "Spider-Man: Homecoming" in this one.

18. "The Avengers" (2012) - This is a bit of a cheat. The actual Lee cameo used was another quick shot that would have ranked low on this list, but the deleted cameo is too funny to exclude. As Cap struggles to adjust to life in the 21st century, Lee shows up to call him out on his obliviousness.

Some have been fun surprises, while others have been underwhelming. 1. "Spider-Man 3" (2007) - Our list began with a "Spider-man" film, so it's fitting that it ends with one. "Spider-man 3" may have polarized Marvel fans, but this Stan Lee cameo in which he smiles at Peter Parker is a heartwarming meeting between a comic book icon and his creator.

Reverend Habila Istifanus, a popular politician from the southern senatorial district of Adamawa State, has led 30,000 supporters from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Adamawa South Senatorial District is the home of Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the PDP.

Speaking to newsmen in Yola on Monday, Istifanus, who lost the APC National Assembly ticket to Abdulrazak Namdas (Toungo/Ganye/Jada and Mayo-Belwa Federal Constituency), condemned APC’s nomination process, describing it as a charade.

“I spent over N25 million on the nomination process but surprisingly, the party hierarchy hijacked the process only to award the ticket to their preferred candidate,” he said.

“Now we have decided to leave that party of impunity; and with a support base of over 30,000 people, we'll work for all PDP candidates at state and national levels.”

Ahmed Umar Fintiri, PDP Governorship candidate who received Istifanus on behalf of the decampees, urged the electorate to vote out the APC government.

"I'm a certificated candidate,” he said, alluding to Governor Jibrilla Bindow's raging certificate controversy.

Prior to his appointment, the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, advised the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) not to call off its strike until the Federal Government under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan did its bidding in 2013.

Former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Prof Chidi Odinkalu made this known in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Saturday.

Adamu, who was appointed Education Minister by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, last week urged ASUU to call of its strike in the interest of the nation, a direct opposite of what he said under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration five years ago.

Addressing a news conference last Monday, Adamu said, “I want to use this opportunity to appeal to ASUU to put off this strike in the name of the country, and in view of what the situation is.”

Odinkalu tweeted:

“This nation owes a debt of gratitude to ASUU and the strike should not be called off until the government accepts to do and does what is required. So, instead of hectoring ASUU to call off its strike, the nation should be praying for more of its kind in other sectors of the economy. – Adamu Adamu”

He tagged the tweet: “Those who do opposition politics like they’ll never be government, end up doing government like they don’t know what to do wth it.”

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived France to take part in the first edition of the Paris Peace Forum, which kicks off in November 11-13, 2018.

In a statement disclosed by the Special adviser to Mr President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Buhari arrived Paris five hours ago.

Recall that Adesina had said that Buhari would join the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres and other world leaders in discussing contributions towards global peace and underscore the imperative of collective actions.

He said, President Buhari will also join other world leaders to commemorate the centenary anniversary of the Armistice signed on November 11, 1918 between the Allied Forces and Germany in the forest of Compiegne in France to end the First World War.

During his visit to Paris, President Buhari will attend a luncheon hosted by President Emmanuel Macron of France in honour of visiting heads of delegations.

Before returning to Abuja, the President and his delegation will have an interactive session with the Nigerian Community in France.
