Chief John Oyegun, the national chairman of
the All Progressives Congress (APC) come
under attacks over his recent comments on
Senate presidency.

Alhaji Mujahid Zaitawa, chairman of the
Northern Youth Political Merger Group
disclosed this to Daily Trust on Wednesday,
April 20.

The APC national chairman was quoted to
have said that the APC was ready to
sacrifice the seat of Senate president to the
PDP in the face of the trial of Senator Bukola
Saraki.

Zaitawa described Oyegun as a “political
stooge craftily working for the PDP.”

He questioned why the Oyegun would hold
brief for other influential figures in the party
like President Muhammadu Buhari, former
vice president Atiku Abubakar, Bola Tinubu
among others.

He noted that the APC came into being as a
result of merger, spearheaded by people of
‘like minds,’ adding that sacrificing the seat
of the senate president on the altar of
primordial considerations would be a recipe
for disaster.

“Chief Oyegun appears to have lost his
calculus by making a statement capable of
conceding the fate of APC to the PDP,”
Zaitawa said.

Meanwhile, Timi Frank, the deputy national
publicity secretary of the APC has said that
the crack in the party has lead to its financial
crunch.
