Notfogotten: Please I have a question to ask.
I don't want to go into details so my partner doesn't trace this to me.
My partner came to UK before me, though still on student visa. I joined her with my 3 children one months ago.
I have noticed some red flags which never happened while we where in Nigeria and I was footing the bills alone.
Each red flag, I pretend nothing happened because I don't want to be thrown out like the man I read about on social media.
My visa is dependent on hers and we are still on student visa.
My question, in the event that we get papers to stay permanently in UK and one day she decides to send me packing, will I be asked to return to Nigeria because she is the main applicant?
Please I need urgent answers. I may not play the fool for long. We are very certain of getting papers next year. No |

What can she do to still get the Spousal Visa from here?
My Uncle is still in Nigeria as we speak. If her spouse is back in Nigeria, the VO will not approve the visa application. Nursing your uncle back to good health should be her number one priority. |

Whizzdom: On Tuesday (21-12-2023), I was having serious fever, so went to buy an over-the-counter malaria drug and one flu tablet. The lady chemist told me to use 4 tablets in the morning and 4 in the afternoon for the malaria drug, but for the Flu medicine, I should use 1 tablet in the morning and at night. I took 4 tablets in the afternoon that day. On the next day, which is Wednesday, I took 4 tablets making 8 tablets in total plus 1 Flu tablet, A few hours after I took that medicine, I felt a sharp pain in my left hear, after which the pain subsided.
I am Welder by profession, I went to work that same moment, at work, I was using a grinding machine to grind iron to make iron smooth, the machine makes noise, but this day, as I was grinding, I could feel something in my brain or inner ear bringing buzzing sound or noise into my ear, after grinding that iron, I couldn't ear anything, all I was hearing is just noise.
The next day, which is today Thursday, I could hear people speak but they have to be loud, and my ears can't tolerate noise at all.
My question is to the learned health practitioners in the house, should I give it time for it to heal on its own or I should go to the hospital for doctor's opinion on the matter.
Attached are the medicines for your scrutiny, I hope it is not one of those fake drugs. Tinnitus is a side effect of the medication and only a few persons get to experience it. I suspect your line of work was a trigger on the eardrums. It should wear off after completing the treatment. |

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2023-254
Washington D.C., Dec. 19, 2023 — The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that it obtained a temporary asset freeze, restraining order, and other emergency relief against Mmobuosi Odogwu Banye a/k/a Dozy Mmobuosi and three affiliated U.S. based entities of which he is the CEO in connection with an alleged multi-year scheme to inflate the financial performance metrics of his companies and key operating subsidiaries to defraud investors worldwide.
The SEC’s complaint, filed on Dec. 18, 2023, alleges that, since at least 2019, Mmobuosi spearheaded a scheme to fabricate financial statements and other documents of the three entities, Tingo Group Inc., Agri-Fintech Holdings Inc., and Tingo International Holdings Inc. and their Nigerian operating subsidiaries, Tingo Mobile Limited and Tingo Foods PLC.
“As alleged, Mmobuosi spearheaded a brazen scheme using phony records and fictitious entities to make the Tingo companies he controlled appear highly profitable, so that he could hoodwink investors and reap massive benefits at their expense,” said Antonia M. Apps, Regional Director of the SEC’s New York Regional Office. “We filed this emergency action to expose Mmobuosi’s fraud and hold him accountable, while protecting investors from further harm.” https://www.sec.gov/news/press-release/2023-254SEC Complaint download - long read https://www.sec.gov/files/litigation/complaints/2023/comp25913.pdf

Good. Some people are trying really hard to make Agunloye the fall guy for this 20 year old scam. https://thebossnewspapers.com/2018/04/28/world-exclusive-how-cabal-corruption-stalled-mambilla-hydropower-project-the-abba-kyari-fashola-and-malami-connection-plus-fg-may-lose-2bn/1. Leno Adesanya was a welcome visitor in Aso Rock. Prior to the official tender process, Sunrise started promoting the Mambilla Project as early as year 2000. It reportedly engaged the offices of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as well as the Nigerian Embassy in China.
Its successful promotion of the project led to the first state visit of then President Obasanjo to China in 2001 and Vice President Atiku in 2002. It was thereafter, that a bidding process was opened for the project and the Ad-Hoc Inter-Ministerial Committee recommended Sunrise and its Chinese Partners. On April 7, 2003, the Committee wrote the President for approval to officially issue an award letter.
Therefore, on May 22, 2003, the then Federal Ministry of Power and Steel (Now Part of the new Ministry of Power, Works and Housing) issued a letter of Award to Sunrise Power and Transmission Company Limited in consortium with North China Power Group as Technical Partners. The contract was for the construction of a 3, 960MW Hydroelectric Power Project in Mambilla on a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) arrangement for a provisional six billion dollars. Sunrise accepted the offer. 2. A day to the end of OBJ's tenure, he awards a portion of the contract to another company. Nothing was heard on the project until May 29, 2007 when, allegedly influenced by a Senior Government official, the Government awarded a part of the SUNRISE contract (Lot I, Civil/Hydraulic Steel Structures) of the (2,600MW Mambilla Hydroelectric) First Phase of the project to Messrs CGGC/CGC Ltd, in the sum of US$1.46billion. 3. The late Yar'Adua cancels the contract after petition from Leno Adesanya. Late President Umaru Musa Yar ‘Adua directed the Federal Ministry of Justice to investigate the Breach of Contract and USD 960 Million (Nine Hundred and Sixty Million United States Dollars) damage claim filed by Sunrise, and a Report (a copy of which is in our possession) from the Federal Ministry of Justice Indicted the Federal Ministry of Energy and CGGC/CGC of Gross Violation of Sunrise’s BOT Contract.
Following a Presidential Visit to China in 2008, word reached late President Yar’Adua about an alleged $15m bribery that led to the award of the $1.46 billion contract to CGGC/CGC on May 29, 2007.
Late President Yar’Adua, we gathered then invited Sunrise, then Minister of State, Power (Late Hajiya Fatima Balaraba Usman), Minister of State and the accused Presidential official for a meeting.
After the meeting, President Yar Adua instructed then Attorney-General, Mr. Michael Aondoaka, SAN, to cancel the CGGC/CGC contract and restore the BOT Contracts to Sunrise immediately which was done at the Vice President’s Conference room in the presence of all Directors and Permanent Secretaries of both the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of Justice. Do the maths. |

Gerrard59: What makes the Sahad's model different from ShopRite? This article best explains the model. Retail dynamics is not the same as Lagos. In 2014, South African supermarket chain Shoprite opened its first northern Nigerian store in Kano, the region’s largest city. Shoprite had already been operating in Lagos and other parts of the country for several years.
According to Kalu, Shoprite is leaving money on the table by not being sensitive enough to local spending-power and consumer perceptions. He says many people in Kano perceive Shoprite as an elite brand. “Many people go to Shoprite as a recreational activity and to take pictures, not necessarily for shopping.”
Large parts of the population still prefer to shop at traditional markets. Kalu says cost-conscious consumers that do frequent modern stores, however, often choose local chains such as Sahad and Jifatu, which offer discounted prices. “Jifatu and Sahad understand the mindset of the people … They know the prices at traditional markets and neighbourhood stores, and just make theirs slightly cheaper.”
The phenomenon of kantin sauki (roughly translated as ‘low price shop’), is a prevalent value proposition of many local outlets. The game lies in been able to price popular brands with low margin and recoup the difference from higher-end brands that have a social ring to them.
He adds that retailers should learn to adapt their product mix to local needs and the way of life. Shoprite, for instance, needs to also offer bakery product variants that can compete with the many local bakeries in Kano.
Large northern Nigerian cities are regional trading hubs. FMCG distributors from neighbouring Niger, Chad and Cameroon come to cities such Kano and Maiduguri to buy products that they then take back to their countries to sell. “More than 30% of the products coming into northern Nigeria are consumed in neighbouring countries,” explains Kalu.
Consumer goods manufacturers need to be cognisant of this when they develop their price points, packaging and sales teams. https://www.howwemadeitinafrica.com/want-to-make-money-with-consumer-goods-in-northern-nigeria-heres-what-you-need-to-know/64464/ |
