Story

These guys are cowards and criminals.

I'm just waiting for them to bring down a plane and they'll be automatically declared a terrorist group.

No one group of criminals can defeat a government in power.
Chevron is an American company. Let the avengers kill Americans and see whether Obama would a and troops or not.

This matter with NDA is still a child's play.

They know the implications of declaring war against the military, hence they're very cautious.

Boko haram is a world acknowledged terrorist group, hence the world is fighting them. Nigerian troops, Cameroonian and Niger troops as well. By the time Avengers start killing people, then there would be complete massacre in the ND.

They can continue to fight pipelines, but when they face human beings like boko haram, their end comes
u are only ranting here because of fear of lossin their oil forever.why don't u luk for other way to generate money, why oil that's not in ur land?sorry oil money will soon stop.

CareerRe: An Office Job Of 70K Or Home Lecture Between 90- 110k. Which Will You Prefer? by aimuan(m): 10:44am On May 31, 2016
butanep:
Good morning nairalander. I am kind of confused about taking an office job or continue with my private lecture which I started a year ago.

After youth services, I scramble the nooks and crammy of Benin and Lagos looking for an office job but to no avail. All application letters written to organisations didn't yield any positive result as I waited for invite like a woman waiting to deliver her baby. I initially taught it was my CV, so I gave it to a professional to help me edit, still no good organisations called me for an invite even with a sound result from a science discipline. The little money from NYSC was also getting exhausted. I began to think the way forward.

After about three month without getting any positive reply from organisations, I just decided to forget about applying for both online and offline jobs because it was depressing. I decided to find something I can do to fetch me income. After presenting my request to God, in a dream God told me you have something to fetch you income, use your brain. I began to think until the revelation became clear.

Since I reside in GRA where the rich men and women reside, I did a flex which is very attractive for the service of a home tutor in mathematics, physics, chemistry and Technical Drawing and scattered it around big schools and strategic locations within GRA Environ. I began to pray and wait for calls.

Two weeks later, I got a call from a woman for my service to prepare her son for WAEC and JAMB examination . After negotiations we concluded at 30k. After that another client called and we concluded at 25k. Just like that until I got about five lectures ranging between 90 to 110k per month. I was so happy and I later caved a niche for myself two moths later. Sometimes I can boast of saving 50k or more per month. I then stop applying for jobs because there was no time anymore except on few occasions...

Six moths later, I got a call from ABC company requesting me to come for an interview. I went for the interview and performed very well. The HR were smiling as i levelled all their questions with ease and even gave them classical illustrations. The moment came for salary negotiation and they asked, how much should we pay you? I said 100k and above. They started laughing and I told them that's what I can accept with confidence. They told me their payment for fresh graduate is 60k. I told them I can't accept 60k, that my input to the company will be worth more than 60k. They told me that's all they can offer, then I boldly stood up, thank them for the interview and left their presence. A week later, I was called from the CEO himself to come to the company. He told me he heard how I refused a salary of 60k. He conducted a personal interview for me and I performed very well this time even without preparation. He told me he will add 10k to the initial 60k offered to me adding up to 70k. I told him I can't accept because what I do earn me more. He persuaded me and I told him I will get back to him after three days, that he should give me some time to make up my mind. He accepted and I left for my daily home teaching.

Once I accept the offer, I can't even take a single private lecture again because the company operate from 8am to 6pm from monday to Saturdays. I won't have time for myself again the way I used to as a home tutor. I was even planing to set up a lecture centre but with the job, I can't do it anymore. The home lecture is stressful and tiring but I'm just happy doing it because I get positive results from students and parents. The company is also a place I can build my career to a certain level but it will just imprisoned my life which I don't like as a hustling guy.

Nairalander what will you do if you happen to be in my shoe.
u have set up yourself to become future school owner which will attract many students since the ones u ve taught are doing well.moreover u love the job.my advice is stick to it no matter how much the office job offers.with the way our economy is going,u can never tell the future of the company.if by chance they decide to sack you tomorrow what will u do?or u think is not possible?build ur future for urself, by urself.don't depend on that office job..

bejeiodus:
Thank God they have reached an agreement. There is a need to go beyond this and ensure a sustainable peace permeates the whole Niger Delta by looking into their demands. Some of their demands deserve the needed attention.

We can criticize their methods but we must not lose sight of their aims The struggle to attract the attention of the world to the plight of Niger Deltans has been on since the sixties. It was what led Adaka Boro to declare the Niger Delta an independent nation in February 1966. And what made Abacha send Saro Wiwa to the gallows.

President Buhari can write his name in gold by ensuring that lasting peace accompanied by material wealth returns to the Niger Delta. The people have suffered untold hardship because of the oil God blessed their land with. They deserve a better share of the oil proceeds.
God will bless u abundantly.

angry By now the Niger delta skies ought to be filled with helicopters and bomber Jets from the Nigerian airforce so they can do reconnaissance and possibly eves drop on the militants by monitoring their communications. These ragtag militants from the 5% region should not be allowed to hold the country to ransom. Buhari should give a shoot at sight order to the military so the avengers can pee in their pants. if not for the innocent people living in the Niger delta, I would have recommended a total leveling of the region if necessary. We the SW and core North are the only region not disturbing the peace of Nigeria. The 5% people are just a pain in our asses. angry

Their demands speaks volumes and has implications
1- release of Dasuki - this indicates that the people behind the attack is 'CORRUPTION' and corruption is fighting back. The powerful corrupt people who had immensely benefited from Nigeria are fighting their last battle for life. Asking for Dasuki indicates these corrupt individuals benefited from the last administration. Dasuki in custody is causing them fear as they don't know what he may have divulge to EFCC.
2-KANU
Asking release of Kanu is tell us they are a lot of people from the east involved. The truth is the SS don't give a damn about about IPOB
3-TOMPOLO and compensation
Tompolo loyal and faithful. Wherever Tompolo is, he's BROKE no doubt. He is part of them but have been decimated financially and he is one of the their sponsors but now no money for the boys

freeze001:
I think it is rather uncharitable for the writer to attempt to preempt the Southern Governors and leaders by saying they are going to defend the actions of the NDA.

Secondly, it takes a fairly obtuse person to lump the NDA with the boko haram and fulani herdsmen. One stark contrast is that the later two are murderers pure and simple. Every action they take is geared towards massive human casualty. Again, they have no identifiable cause other than greed and tribal/religious supremacy agenda which informs their modus operandi of killing the 'infidels' according to their kouran and doing so in the name of Allah (boko haram). For the herdsmen, they simply have a bad sense of entitlement hence the audacity with which they sack and take over communities, not without massive murder and pillaging.

The NDA however are fighting for the soul and ownership of what is theirs and it is easy to see why unless a person is just plain daft and greedy. Nigerian leadership has proved itself as incapable of being reasoned with. Dialogue has been tried and engaged in over the issue of resource control and system of governance but always remains dead because some in power particularly the North do not want it. Having systematically empowered themselves with unfair majority representation at every level of government including the legislature, they make it clear that it is their way or no way!

The most recent and inclusive effort to address these issues, the CONFAB has been relegated by the same North. History tells everyone what happened to Ken Saro Wiwa again at the hand of a Northerner.

Now, there is no one that knows or feels the effects of environmental degradation more than the Niger Delta indigenes. However, because the Nigerian govt is determined to feed off the South without commensurate recompense, the freedom fighters know to strike at the jugular which is crude oil. Rather than see economic sabotage which is the outcome of their actions, I see a people pushed to the wall, damned tired of being told they count for nothing because of the 'almighty North' and to crown it all, majority of stakeholders in the ownership of resources in the ND come from the same north.

The FG controlled by the North during the military era, by fiat packaged as a Constitution today commandeered the resources if the South as belonging to the FG. Fairness and equity should have seen the same happen to solid minerals scattered over the North and major agricultural resources should have also been controlled by the FG but no, just the South simply because it's easy money.

Now there are rumbles, rather than give due regard n respect to a region, the FG once again run by the north has chosen to play the role of bully by unleashing military action. Same response that boils down to killing innocent people because they're never precise enough to actually gather intelligence, identify and fish out their targets.

The Nigerian government must learn to accord respect to each region in its own right and not by the number of votes cast in support of any govt in power. See the passion with which a whole President defends his kinsmen by saying no one should think of driving 'us' out because he is one of them but makes no attempt to understand the cause of the Niger Delta. Let me not even talk of IPOB and the right to self-determination now. So remind me again why unity is a do or die affair in Nigeria? How exactly is Nigeria one other than having no other country bearing the same name?
God will bless you abundantly.but is there no way u can post dis all over the internet?
