9jaRealist: Our generation need to understand our history. Single currency has once been used in Western Africa. During that era, there was boom in the regional economy though run by the colonial masters. But when we started getting independence, we all left it and followed a new course. Today, we find ourselves in a huge mess. We can still correct this problem by trying new things. Remember that Africa has been blessed with both human and mineral resources. Let's use put it to use. I believe with an integrated economy within the region, we can start producing and distributing these products within the region. Sell at a moderate price to all within the region but at a higher cost to those outside the region. Ensure free trade zone are domiciled in all countries of the region and also encourage exchange of technical know how and information technology. With time the region should experience a substantial increase. However, people fear that Nigeria being the largest economy in the region will be overweight and will take the highest burden. Well that can be true, but dont forget that we will also be strengthening our economy too. When we start production in large capacity and growing our produce in commercial quantities, shouldering these responsibilities will create better job opportunities for the teaming youths. I still believe Naija is good to go anywhere, anytime! NAIJA NO DE CARRY LAST! 3 Likes |

Decolonel: I'm amazed that we have not even understand that the world has been using single currency all this while. It is not new abeg. Dont forget that there is no place you go in this world, even China that u cannot exchange dollars. Not just Dollars oh, Pound sterling, Euro, Dutch, Chinese Yen etc can all be used for transactions anywhere across the globe. That translate to mean they are world currency. But take naira note to China if u will find it easy to exchange? 3 Likes |

Yohh: I support your statement. People are being unnecessarily pessimistic on anything new that is introduced. I wonder why people will just reject it when it has not been tried. In Europe, Euro is generally acceptable. Britain used pound sterling and this did not affect the value of pound. And as we all know value for pound is higher than Euro. Using Euro did not reduce the value for pound sterling in Europe. Coming to West Africa, there is nothing wrong if we introduce Eco as a single currency. It will rather help us to relate more, carryout business transactions with ease, develop and strengthen economic status of the region. It will also minimise or reduce the use of dollars in our transaction dealings. We should encourage our own because if we dont we will continue to help west develop their economy while ours rot. 10 Likes |

izzou: Very well said. We wont keep quite and say nothing because Ghana have reputation and Nigeria dont. Rejecting such actions could be a starting point for building this reputation you are talking about. The true fact is, if we continue to fight ourselves and keep quite, such injustice will continue and they will repeat same to another person. Ghanaians are together, here are we divided on this issue. Wow! 5 Likes |

The problem of Nigeria is truly from Nigerian. I feel very sad reading what people are saying on this issue. Blaming 200million people for a crime committed by a few thousand. Why cant we just stand for ourselves on matters like this one. We are suppose to rebuke such action from the Ghanian institution on our professor. It's very wrong to sack, interrogate and detain the professor for making a statement which is true because Nigerians contributed alot in Ghana. And if it's TRUE that Nigerian have contributed so much to the Ghanaian economy what is wrong for asking the Ghanaian authorities to help improve their welfare? Look, I work with Ghanaians as colleagues. They shout at us and say things about Nigeria attimes but we never attack them for making statements about Nigeria. We take it as politics! Why should they treat the professor in such an in-human manner? 14 Likes |

Nwaikuku2: We need to understand that this is an infringement of the right to religion, association or education of this little girl. The religion of Islam has commanded that all women (including the girl child) must cover their hair. It doesn't matter the tribe, be it Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo, as far as the lady is a Muslim. It is a must for her to cover her hair. |

hmmmmmm, what is the essence of all this flamboyant display of wealth to the public? How many projects has he successfully completed in his senatorial district, talkless of kogi state where he came from. With all these moneys, cars and houses how many lives has he changed? What impact has he in Kogi state (since he assumed office)? How many scholarship is he given to student in Kogi state? How did Dino get his money, what is his financial background? People just like you because you know how to talk and show-off wealth...cut it off. There are people with more wealth, who does show off. Example is Dangote (who is far richer, than you are). |

I don't get it, Ekiti state is a PDP state. why are they coming to announce federal government intention to manipulate the election? There is certainly something fishy going on within the PDP in Ekiti State. And with all these, one can deduce that Fayose's election was rigged. Its very clear that he come in to power through the back door. Politicians should allow the people make their choices of leaders and they should stop imposing people on us citizen. 4 Likes |

kkboy: My guy, anger will not take you anywhere. It will only make things worse. Look, we already know the Nigerian system when it comes to elections. So many people don't want Buhari to return to power but guess what? Not all of them will come out to vote out Buhari. They will seat back home during the elections giving chance to the Pro-Buhari supporters to vote and do everything to return the him back to power. Not just that alone, some people will also collect money and vote for Buhari. Forgetting that they complained and spoke about changing the hands of power. And I hope it will not surprise you that the people you are shaming are the ones to sponsor the return of Buhari to power. We need to have one voice, one mind and be determine to change the faith of our dear country by coming out amass to vote and resist any thing like bribe / tip. |

Who told you a minister cannot pay for 280million mortgage house. They will pay from their breast pocket. This article is projecting the Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to be poor. I laugh when he said "some of the ministers squirt with family and friends" - in Abuja? you go fear naaa! Abeg, forget that idea. See, some of them are logged in a hotels since they were confirmed. I mean Transcorp Hilton oh, Sheraton, La-Meridian Hotel etc. This are top hotels in Nigeria and they are very expensive. Look, make Buhari try fight kwarrupshin for all I care, some will still have their way. Also don't forget that some of this ministers are past governors or might have held public office at one time. They have money already before they were made ministers. I'm very sure the house is worth more than 280million that was why he is being summoned. My people, the truth of the matter is that this administration is trying to fight corruption but they can only reduce / minimise the rate of kwarrupshin, people will always have their way. I support the actress! It now time to start speaking our mind about issues bothering our country. We cannot continue to hold/depend on the government for everything. The mosque and churches (religious bodies in general) too should contribute to the development of the state. There are mosque and church generating a very huge amount each weekend with the number of population attending services. Instead of using all this huge money to sponsor bill boards adverts, build 22nd century design auditorium/sky-scrappers, buy private jet and living luxurious life (alone), they can also support the government by building more roads, bridges and/or even come together to build power distribution stations so that local populace can benefit from the divine blessings (on our tithes and zakats) from God. They should also REDUCE VERY EXORBITANT FEES CHARGED AS TUITION (so that both members and non members can benefit). i don yan my mind. whether my English blend or not, na u sa bi? 2 Likes |
