But..... I think I read it somewhere that; there is Bitumen in Ogun State!

I've not seen the work of Dr. Fayemi as a Solid Minerals Minister at all!

Is this the change we were promised? Nigeria has a very large deposit of bitumen, why are we now importing? Are you sure this government knows what its doing?

What is most amusing is that while the presidency has announced the closure of borders on imported goods, its is going back to bring into the country something we have in large deposit. No wonder we have crude oil, and still importing petroleum. This is a disappointment!
Islam for Muslims / Re: Eid-el-adha: UD'HIYA/QURBAANI (sacrifice): What Kind Of Animal Is Suitable? by aisammy4: 2:36pm On Sep 09, 2016
eluquenson:
Assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakaatuhu

Sacrificing an animal started with the first man. Two children of Sayyidina Adam (AS) – Haabil (Abel) & Kaabil (Cain) - were commanded by Allah to make sacrifice as narrateded in Q5:27 thus:

The requirement for the sacrifice of an animal cannot be fulfilled by payment of the cash equivalent as sadaqah. Just as Zakah cannot compensate for Hajj, nor fasting compensate for Salah, similarly charity cannot compensate for Qurbani. However, if the days of Qurbani have passed, and the Qurbani was not offered due to ignorance, negligence or for some other valid reason, then it becomes Wajib to give in Sadaqah the price of Qurbani animal or the unslaughtered animal itself to the poor.
The acceptable animals for the sacrifice are goats, sheep, cattle and camels, either males or females. The degree of excellence and preference are as follows:
• If the sacrifice is for the ad’hiya (as for those not doing the Hajj) – Ram (uncastrated), Ram (castrated), Ewe, Male Goat, Female Goat, Cattle (Bull, then Cow) and Camel (Male uncastrated, Male castrated and then Female).
• As regards 'hadys' (animals to be sacrificed as part of the hajj) camels are best and then cattle and then sheep and then goats.
This wisdom behind this ranking is that what is desired of ‘hadys’ is to have a lot of meat for the poor and what is desired of the ad’hiya is good meat. The evidence for this is that the Prophet (SAW) used to often make his hadys camels while his ad’hiya was two rams, as is reported in the Sahih ahadith.

Whatever animal in the allowed range that you choose to sacrifice, the following guidelines must be observed:
1. Goats and sheep have to be at least one year old. However, a healthy sheep that looks like a one year old may also be used, provided it is at least six months of age.
2. Cattle (cow, ox and buffalo) must be at least two years old.
3. Camels must be at least five years old.

Rulings on Defects in the Udhiya Animal
1. An animal that was born without horns or the horn is broken off from the middle can be used for ad’hiya. However, if the horn is broken off from the root, or the horn has been uprooted, then it will not suitable.
2. An animal that is totally blind or has lost one-third or more of its eye-sight, or one-third or more of one of its ear is cut, or one-third or more of its tail is cut, is not suitable.
3. An animal which limps/walks on three legs and cannot put the injured (4th) leg onto the ground, or it is able to put the injured leg onto the ground, but is unable to walk on it, is not suitable. However, if it is unable to walk on it, but can still take support from it, then it can be used even though it is limping.
4. Animals having no teeth at all are suitable. If an animal has lost some teeth only, and has most of its teeth, it is suitable. If most of the teeth are lost, it is not suitable.
5. An animal born without ears is not eligible for Udhiya. An animal with very small ears is good.
6. Thin and extremely weak animals, unable to walk to the place of slaughter, are not suitable for adhiya.
7. If an animal sustains an injury whilst being slaughtered, the ad’hiya is valid.
8. If an animal is purchased in a healthy and eligible state, and thereafter, an accident occurs which renders the animal unfit for ad’hiya, in such a case if the purchaser is no longer wealthy (owner of the required amount) it will be permissible to offer the same animal for ad’hiya. However, if the purchaser is wealthy, then it is necessary to obtain another animal in place of the injured animal.
9. If an animal purchased for ad’hiya gives birth (before being slaughtered), then the newly born animal should also be slaughtered. Where it is not slaughtered, it can be given as sadaqah.
10. If the slaughtered animal aborts a live baby, the live baby will be in the same category as its mother (i.e. it will be treated as a Qurbani animal in terms of its meat, skin etc.

Time for the Sacrifice
1. It is good to sacrifice your animal yourself after the imam has made his sacrifice on the morning of the Day of Sacrifice. If you slaughter your animal before the imam you must repeat your sacrifice.
2. If there is no imam with you, you should make sure you do not do it before the time the imam nearest to you would do so.
3. There are three 'days of sacrifice' and you can make your sacrifice any time up until Maghrib on the last of these days but the best time to make your sacrifice is on the first day.
4. No part of an animal sacrificed for the 'id may be sold; neither its skin nor anything else.
5. In rural and village areas where Jumu’ah and ‘Eid Salah are not performed, Qurbani may be performed as soon as Fajr (Subhus Saadiq) sets in on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah.
6. If a person residing in a town (where Eid salah is performed) arranges for his animal to be slaughtered in a village (where Eid Salah is not performed), then it is permissible for his animal to be slaughtered before he performs his Eid Salah.
7. It is preferable to slaughter during the day. The sacrifice must not be done at night.
8. If there are various venues for Eid Salah, slaughtering is permitted after any one venue has terminated with the Eid Salah.
9. Qurbani will be discharged if one appoints a proxy for this task and the proxy fulfils the task. The proxy may be an organisation or an individual.

Wassalamu alaykum

May Allah grant you more wisdom. This post answered so many questions i needed to ask.

Thank you so much. Jazakumllahu khayran

Islam for Muslims / Re: Congregetional Dua After Salat, Good Or Bad by aisammy4: 12:12pm On Sep 09, 2016
Empiree:
^

You see the hadith he quoted up there about Ibn Mos'ud [Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 12, Number 802], it doesn't take rocket science to figure out it is "group dhikr" when you go practical. It is easy to read texts and condemn what you want to condemn. But if you go practical, it is clear.

Congregational

Group

Assembly

Gathering

....are all the same meaning. Let's apply the hadith practically. Forget about "he said, she said" for a moment.

Say for instance, lexicon is Imam and the rest of us are behind him. He finishes salat by saying Salam alaikum waramotullah.

Then, everyone of us starts reciting loud dhikr lailaha ila Allah. Theoretically, we are reciting it individually but in practical sense, it's already unison.

Let's analyse what i just said so we know it is already group dhikr. First, with lexicon as imam and we behind him, we already formed a group of assembly.

Second, we all doing dhikr (individually) as intended

Third, it is technically unison.

So "group dhikr" is already formed. There is no way bunch of muslims reciting dhikr individually and loud and saying the same thing without making it unison or almost. This is how Gathering of dhikr is borne. There is nothing "bid'atic" about it. But if you stick to texts, you will always easily find what is bid'a.

Just try to implement the hadith. You will get my point. That's all

Well said. Other practical ways. Let say, after the salat as you mentioned above, the rest of the congregation start saying' Allahu-akbar x3" subahana-Allah, wallhamdullillah, wallaihailalah, wa-Allahu akbar, wallahaulawalakuwata-ilabilah" differently, are they not saying the same thing? Is it not the same dua?

Car Talk / Re: Why You Need To Run A Scan On Your Vehicle Before Repairs by aisammy4: 1:26pm On Sep 01, 2016
While I agree with the OP on the scanning stuff. I would like to introduce to you - COMPUTERIZE VEHICLE TESTING SYSTEM. This is one of it kind in Nigeria.

This initiative is about ensuring that vehicles are roadworthy for safety when plying the road. Although, our Nigeria roads are very bad but we should ensure that our cars, trucks, tricycles e.t.c. is in good shape for safety of life.

In Nigeria today, so many cars plying the roads are not roadworthy and we have this ideology of managing thereby risking our lives. In order to prevent or drastically reduce our road accident, our cars should be tested for roadworthiness.

Computerized Vehicle testing system is a systematic testing equipment (technology) used to test physical components of your vehicle to make sure its working perfectly. Now, what are these components that is very important (the we, Nigeria might neglect) on our vehicle:

1. Braking System
2. Steering
3. Chasis & Chasis Attachment
4. Emission Testing
5. Lighting system
6. Headlights
7. Visibility
8. Alignment
9. Axles Wheels
10. Suspension
11. Supplementary Test for Vehicle Carrying Passengers

The above component are checked and inspection report printed for the individual car. More Information on these, please visit Abuja Computerized Vehicle Testing Station, Onnex Station, Katampe, Along Kubwa Express way Abuja or Kugbo Station by Kugbo Furniture market, Abuja. I laugh at you! Do you think Igbos can stay together? Igbos are not united. You are just busy fighting to get Biafra when you are suppose to be strategizing to win seat of the President of Nigeria.

If you dont know, check every election that has been conducted in Nigeria you will discover that we have more Igbos contesting for presidency in Nigeria. They would have just come together for just once and choose one credible leader to come out representing the Igbos and see if he or she would not go closer in getting the presidency (that is if he does not win).

Politics / Re: Niger Delta Avengers Cease Attacks On Pipelines by aisammy4: 9:40am On Aug 30, 2016
princesweet:
The Niger Delta Avengers militants said last night that they were done with the hostilities. The group whose attacks have caused a huge dip in Nigeria’s oil exports, forcing the economy into a big crisis.

The Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) broke the news in a letter posted on its website by its spokesman, Mudoch Agbinibo, and addressed to President Muhammadu Buhari. It also spoke of the need for regular dialogue to take place for the Nigerian union to survive.

Presidential spokesman Femi Adesina welcomed the cessation of hostilities by the Avengers as “a good development which is in the interest of the country and especially the Niger Delta people.”

He said “anything that portends peace is always good,” adding that “we hope that it cuts across board and it is sincere.”

The Avengers alleged that the Federal Government was out to execute a predetermined genocide against the people of the Niger Delta through the recently launched Operation Crocodile Smile, which the military high command has explained as just a training drill designed to prepare the Amphibious Division for a better mastery of the Niger Delta terrain.

The Niger Delta Avengers also observed that the Nigerian system would work better if the Federal Government learns from the developed democracies to allow internal protests and conflicts aimed at greater good of the nation.

“We call on President Muhammadu Buhari to put away the garb of a stooge to the imperialists, whenever he speaks outside Nigeria. We have listened carefully and halted hostilities in the Niger Delta.

We expect a genuine and positive attitude to restructuring and self-determination for every component unit of Nigeria. Dear president, what makes those countries (Japan, Germany, France, USA, Britain etc.) great is the ability of their governments to accommodate internal protestations and conflicts for the greater good of their nations over the years.

“Nigeria is not a one-man personal property. We must have these talks every time if this union must continue to work as one. The people of the Niger Delta have been living here from time immemorial, so we have the secret of the terrain and survival of amphibious operations.

“No amount of troop surge and simulation exercises will make you win the oil war; you can only win battles. You cannot apply the might of the state to restore the people’s confidence in your leadership when you cannot differentiate between genuine demands and being mismanaged by disorganised characters and tribal lords around you in your government that are playing the court jesters’ role as well as counting the days that is left in your four years term.

“You can deceive the whole world but we cannot be deceived by the so glamorized ongoing military operations in the creeks of Ijaw communities in the Delta coded “ Operation Crocodile Smiles”… the world should knows that with your pronouncement in Kenya and your attitude to the military build-up in the Niger Delta, it is crystal clear that the military has nothing less than a pre-determined genocide in Niger Delta and burn more already scared national resources to the pockets of those that have failed to locate the missing Chibok School Girls.

“Please also tell those foreign nations that your troops are about carrying out extrajudicial killings in the Niger Delta in violation of Article Four of the Geneva Convention with “OPERATION CROCODILE SMILE”. All sane minds know the meaning of “ CROCRODILE TEARS” so by code-naming your military operation CROCODILE SMILES only betrays your motives and attitude to the whole world about the Niger Delta question.”

With an end to bombings, there is hope for increased oil and gas production, which will translate to more revenue for the Federation.

The militants in the last few months hit major pipelines including Shell’s Nembe Creek Trunk Line (NCTL) and Forcados terminal, ExxonMobil and Agip’s facilities. These attacks led to shut-in of various crude grades from Nigeria.

At the peak of the attacks, production dropped to 1.4 million barrels per day (bpd) against a budgeted 2.2 million bpd. Production had risen to 1.9 bpd before the renewed attacks.
http://www.newsflashng.com/niger-delta-avengers-cease-attacks-pipelines/

Yeh, surrender to the higher power or get crushed! lol....

Itsekiri people are also against you... so, Nigeria Army + Itsekiri People = Wining Both the war and the Battle.

We Pleaded and Pleaded for you to stop the bombing, why stop it now? I bet you, if you think you can use this to deceive us, you lie? We are stronger than ever, we are smarter than you think, that is why we are Giant of Africa.

However, the only way we can resolve all this is by making peace with one another. I mean sincere peace with ourselves. Killings only bring war, separation, disease, hunger, poverty, economic collapse (as it is now) and any bad you can think of. Let join hands together to build our country Nigeria. Lets stop the killings and bombing to make Nigeria a better place to live life and grow our families.

Haven't you seen Allah's sign around you? I'll give a typical example. There is a tree inside a mosque compound in Ikeja Cantonment Lagos, Nigeria grown with Allah's sign crested on it. I have seen it with my own eyes. It should still be there by Allah's grace.

Haven't you seen the sign of Allah around the world? In fishes, pieces of fruits, meat, eggs, on rocks, tree that Allah's sign is naturally crested on?

Breaking News: HND/BSc Dichotomy Removed.

At last, it is with excitement, capital joy amidst jubilation and celebration of over 20 years struggle of Nigerian Polytechnic students and graduates including the staff unions and heads of Polytechnic in Nigeria.

I am pleased to announce to the public that the COUNCIL OF ESTABLISHMENT which comprises of all the head of service of the 36 States of the Federation and the head of service of the Federation approved the removal of this long overdue dichotomy which hinder the career progression of HND holders in civil service in her meeting held in Minna Niger state capital during the week after an exhaustive deliberation, pro and anti deposition which ended with tie vote of 16 against 16 while the head of service of the Federation voted in support as presiding officer after the tie, to earn the Polytechnic sector the victory.

Making the vote 17 pro against 16 anti. Henceforth, This resolution automatically lift embargo on HND holder career progression in civil service as the holder can now rise beyond Deputy Director in civil service as well enjoy all sort of benefits/promotion to the topmost rank due to BSc holders in civil service.

It is on record that this same Council was the sole obstacle for this struggle since year 2005 when President Olusegun Obasanjo pronounced the removal of this dichotomy, the Council called the then president statement a mere pronouncement with out documentation and refused it adoption nor implementation.

It will be recalled that the last meeting of the council which was held at Ilorin kwara state capital witness heavy presence of Nigeria Polytechnic students which I personally led as the National Senate President of NAPS to the council in protest for the need for the council to reconsider her position on the said matter.

A position paper was submitted after the protest as demanded by the then head of service of Federation who was the chairman of the Council, unfortunately, the matter was completely discussed nor concluded at Ilorin until now in her next meeting in Niger state.

The Council often meets every 3 years, On behalf of the entire West Africa Polytechnic students and most especially the Nigeria Polytechnic students, I express sincere gratitude to the head of service of states and that of the Federation who stood for us and with us, the Federal Ministry of Education, the National Board for Technical Education NTBE, Council of Head of Polytechnic and Colleges of Technology COHEADS, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic ASUP, past and present leadership of National Association Of Polytechnic Students NAPS and by extension the Nigerians Union of journalist for their support all through the struggle.

We look forward for immediate implementation by all state of the Federation, Federal government agencies and departments while I call on all Polytechnic student to join us as we Commence appreciation/celebration.

We Nigerians are the once killing ourselves and spoiling our image. In Nigeria today, anybody can wake up one morning and post whatever he like to lead people astray. They just have the intention to breakup Nigeria and THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Why can't we look forward to how to build our country rather we prefer to break it.

America today is not base on what the government offers the people, America is all about what you (citizens, individuals, persons or people) can offer to it. Lets follow suit

As far as I know Republican governments is about war war war. It was during George Bush the 911 attack happened and it was Obama that cleared the shit.

Donald is a very controversial individual but Clinton is just another Lady whose ambition is to rule the world. I think Donald will WIN but I don't like him.

Fire on fani!
EFCC have succeeded in making you stronger.

Are you sure because Fani-Kayode just lied to us again. I have so many things to say to this guy "Fani-Kayode". Fani-Kayode, your father made the move for Independent parliament and instead of following his footsteps you are making the move for dissolution of same parliament. You are just the opposite of your father. Why do you want to destroy all that your father fought for and had built, Kayode? You made so many comments here that I want to counter jst as i have related to above.

Nigeria has gone beyond "one man's opinion to lead people astray & to cause mayhem in the land". You want to cover up all your atrocities using Christianity, hum? Please, don't Christianise or Islamise Nigeria for us. You are also part of those who destroyed the Nigerian Image and economy. Using money meant for purchasing of arms to fight terrorism for election. You think God is asleep? He NEVER SLEEP. And mind you, the current Chief of Defence staff is an Ekiti man Gen. Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin.
YOU GUYS SHOULD STOP MISLEADING NIGERIANS AND STOP HIDING UNDER CHRISTIANITY

Culture / Re: Emir Sanusi's Gold Louboutin Shoes (Photos) by aisammy4: 10:00am On Jul 19, 2016
As Muslims, we have our guiding principles. Gold are only allowed for women. This means men are prohibited from wearing anything that is gold. The Emir is a religious leader and cannot go contrary to the laid down rules and regulations of the Islamic jurisprudence.

If Emir Sanusi, put on gold then he has intentionally contravened the Islamic laws.

May Allah help us in this times of change
