for those who got admitted or have applied to memorial university of Newfoundland, do they require IELTS or any form of English test from international students in Nigeria.Though i have mailed them for some necessary concerning information.
cc:Ajayi4 et al..
MichV, no. All you need to do is get a letter of proficiency from your university here in Nigeria that the language of instruction is English. Not more than this.

Arcayo:
N600k is too small and also you don't expect the VO to believe your sponsor will give you everything cos it can't take care of your flight and expenses of the first 2months, I don't know when you will have access to your funding actually I don't know how funding works.
It is very possible to get your TRV with the sponsor and the co sponsor but just try to cover any loopholes maybe someone with good balance (millions)
Thanks Arcayo, but I have already submitted. I just hope God will intervene with the funding. I was just trying to get someone I could prove relationship with then, otherwise I could have got someone with enough balance. Although I also submitted my pension account with 390,000. Just hope all these will work in Jesus Name

Arcayo:
It shouldnt be but you can't predict these VO, they can use it against you and closed their eyes on the funding
But there is another sponsor, that one was a co-sponsor, This one is the first sponsor. He had inflow very well from January till July of 9m with balance of 500,000 and another account with inflow of 7m with balance of say 100,000. It was the low balance that made me choose the earlier co-sponsor. And this uncle with low balance but very good inflow promised 1.5m each year. How do you see this Arcayo in the light of earlier discussions

Arcayo:
It depends on how the cash was before, eg. an account that have not received such amount of time past 6months suddenly get 1.4m within 2days might be termed as lodgement but an account that has daily, weekly and monthly inflow in thousands/million even if 5m enter at a go you shouldn't have problem
But, Arcayo, does this really count against someone with school funding that covers tuition and almost the amount of accommodation. Pls let me know.

Thank Arcayo, it didn't receive as much as that in the four months print-out, but it received about 500, 000 about two months before that. And the owner withdraws from it very often

Hello Nairaland family, I need answer to this question. If a sponsor has, say, two millions in his two separate accounts and someone transfered about I MILLION one of the account say 5 days before I it was printed, and another 400, 000 in the other account a day before I it was printed for application. Will VO view this as money lodgement? Remeber transactions had been going in the last four months o, but not frequent deposits o.

I sent you a mail
Kindly respond.
Sorry Iwas off Nairaland since yesterday. I sincerely do not know of any other cheaper university. But you can try Manitoba and see if it is also cheap. Go to google type cheap universities in Canada. then begin to assess one by one.

The admission requirement is 2.1 and I have 2.2. Can I still apply?
Do you have work experience and other documents to support your application? If you do, they may still consider you. Also, if your performance in the last two years is up to the required standard, they will still consider you. Look for a very strong area in your academic career and apply or try another school.

Odisco2:
Good evening Nairalanders.
Your help is needed here.
I graduated 3 Years ago from UNIBEN with second class (lower division). I studied Philosophy.
Please can anyone help with any university in Canada with less expenses where I can do my master? I will be glad to hear from you.
Thanks. @Ajayi4
Try MUN, very cheap and qualitative

I fully understand how you feel right now. It is normal. Just encourage yourself, remember for every dark cloud there is a silver lining. Look for a Master programme as I did in a low tuition paying school, and you may even be lucky to be funded. On getting to Canada, change school once and for all. Nothing stops you the. Dealing with these VOs with what I have read here so far requires great intelligence and reading of their minds with the way they treat others. Begin search now and let us know which school you opt for. Never give up. I personally opted for MUN because I knew I didn't have rich sponsors. So, be smarter this time around. If the school fees of a college or university is very expensive, they doubt the possibility of Nigerians paying such fees. They thing upfront tuition payment, for some, is just to fool them. Chikena.

MichV, sorry o. You have been very helpful to others. Now my candid advice: Since you have a second class upper, I will advise you apply for an MSC or MA as the case may be. In my view, the visa officer(s) might think that you are attempting to escape via an easy route because they believe since you made a 2.1, nothing should stop you from applying for a Master. They just ticked that to justify their rejection. If you indeed have PGD or PGC in mind, you can simply change to that on getting to Canada. Remember, getting the passage is the most important step for now. Get admission into a low tuition university for a Master and see how quick the approval will be. Adding more funds to this may still give the same result. My opinion pls. Thanks and take heart to fire once again.

I am happy for Arcayo ooo. Congratulations. Your testimony will give birth to others on this thread IJN. The lesson I picked up from your story is that of persistence when things seem contrary or when hope seems dashed. Incidentally, you are as experienced as I am as far as post-tertiary education working experience is concerned. Keep working on your vision. And all of us TRV hopefuls, especially my friends MichV, Yemdogg, I say more testimonies IJN.

Also, in the space for Board and Room, will I multifply $10 by 2 for the whole duration or I will leave that at $10k. Thanks

Okay. How do I start..... I haven't been interactive here that much but I've been going thru to get information about how long it takes to get approved. Anyway here's my testimony.
I submitted my application on the 13 th of June at Vfs global
Then I received a mail to perform my Medicals on the 8th of July.
Did my Medicals on the 12 th of July and they forwarded it to the embassy on the 15th.
Can't know when I passed the Medicals because I didn't link my account online.
I received an email about my approval today. 8th of August.
I applied to memorial university NL.
I encourage you not to give up on God. He never forsakes his people. Have full faith and confidence in him and he won't fail you. He has never failed anyone that trusts in him. Im really not the most religious person tbh. But I know that about God.
Pray to him. fast in his name and you'd receive your testimony in Jesus name. Amen.
Btw I'm an undergraduate student. Booked my flight last 2 weeks. Faith really moves mountains.

Hello Bro, congrats o. Happy for you. I am also going to MUN come January, I defer till then. Pls can we talk on email. my email is syntacticjoe@yahoo.com Tell me through email, you are the one going to MUN
Good luck all.
