Business › Re: 5 Businesses You Can Start With N50,000 In 2019 by ajayiopy: 12:44pm On Feb 01, 2019 |
Adieza: Nigeria is going to emerge as one of the strongest economic country in Africa but the only problem is that it has not been well managed by the government for many years. Nevertheless, people are still becoming millionaires daily from a simple business idea. Most of the millionaires in Nigeria all started with a small capital and today they are the big names all over Africa. This gives Nigerians and Africans the belief that it is possible to start a milti-million business today. In the words of Lao Tzu, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step”.
Many have been asking but which type of business can I start with N50,000?
Please see below five types of business you can start in 2019 with the help of Perfect Pitch Business Start-Up by Nija Box
1. Recharge Card Business 2. Popcorn Production Business 3. Sales of CD/DVD’S Business 4. Shawama/Barbecue Business 5. Fast Food Business
1.Recharge card printing business can turn you into a rich person. Since the importation of recharge card was banned by olusegun obasanjo in 2004, Nigerians has been making money every month making and distributing recharge cards in their area, because recharge card business is a fast business in Nigeria today, knowing that almost every citizens are using mobile phone today, some are even using two, it is clear that billions of Nigerians are buying recharge cards every day.
2. Pop Corn Business : Getting a popcorn machine and producing popcorn is also a viable business idea, the machine goes for about 45000 naira, all you need is corn, butter and sugar, that’s all! you got yourself a business!!!
3. Sales of CD/DVD’s Business : If you don’t like Nigerian movies, I am sure you like American Hollywood movies, how about Indian, Chinese and Philippines movies? uhumm. This is a money-spinning business, but some people thought there is nothing there. Do you know how much those movies you buy for 150 naira are been sold to the retailers? In case you don’t know, their counting price is 30 Naira each in Alaba market.
4. Shawama/Barbecue Business: This business is viable and you only need to know how to make shawarma and barbecue, you need to buy a grilling machine and get the shawarma ingredients, employ an expert and find a lucrative location (like an hotel) and that is all…no close monitoring (as your materials must be exacted at a certain proportion to equate a certain number), there is minimum risk, and there is huge profit potential, if you have the money, start this business.
5. Fast Food Business : You can find a good location and set up a fast food joint, all you need is a kiosk, a stove, and your cooking materials (oil, kerosene, spoon, etc) and that’s all!, you can be cooking noodle, frying eggs, making teas, etc, you can be assured that you are going to be smiling home always, in the business, location is the name of the game, you need to find a good spot that is domestic, and also you need to know the risk involved, and the practices of that location you want to set up your business, and you are on track to profit, it’s profitable however, it needs to be closely monitored and it usually needs the presence of the owner.

Family › Re: 3 Costly Mistakes Couples Make After Marriage by ajayiopy: 12:43pm On Feb 01, 2019 |
gisthabit: https://gisthabit.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/couples-1.jpg
This article is of great necessity. It was conceived out the experiences of the people around me. Saying goodbye to the world of singles and moving into the world of the married entails a lot of sacrifices and intelligent decisions. Most times, newly married couples commit to terrible mistakes that can cause their children and partner great pain in the nearest future. If you are just got married or intending to then I advise you go through this article paying attention to details so as to avoid making avoidable mistakes in your marriage.
3 Costly Mistakes Couples Do In Marriage
#1. Not Changing Your Next Of Kin
My heart is always heavy with sorrow whenever I remember what some people have gone through and are still passing through because they forgot to change their next of kin immediately after marriage.
For me, these consequences were avoidable if only the concerned parties did the right thing at the right time.
Never take issues concerning who you use as your next of kin for granted. In fact for a married woman or man, your next of kin should be your partner or any of your children.
Entrusting the future of your family to your brother or even a total stranger all in the name of next of kin is a grave mistake that no one should ever commit.
I have a friend of mine (may God rest his soul) who for some reasons forgot to change his next of kin to his wife after marriage. He died after some years leaving his wife and two lovely children behind.
Because his brother was his next of kin, his employer paid his terminal benefits running into millions of naira to him. As at the time of writing this article, his brother has only given the sum of 500,000 naira to the wife since the passing away of the man in 2015.
I don’t want to go on with the treatment being meted on the woman and her children and how the landed property of the late man was taken over by his brother.
The long and short of this is that you should take the bold step by changing your next of kin to your spouse or child. Make that decision now and act immediately.
#2. Hiding Your Investments from Your Spouse
To some people, I know this may sound funny. But the reality is that even in these modern times, some couples hid from each other their personal investments and assets.
Let me remind you that the union of marriage makes the man and the woman a single individual.
This by implication is that you shouldn’t keep anything from the other person. You can begin by having joint assets and properties with your partner. You can also decide to open a joint bank account with your partner.
By so doing, the partner will suffer little or no loss in the event of the death of the other. Check yourself to see if you fall under this category and then make efforts to address the issue.
#3. Agreeing That Only One Person Should Be Working
Apart from the financial benefits that come with working, there is also the exposure and boldness that come with it.
Unfortunately, some couples for one reason or the other decides that one of them (mostly the woman) shouldn't work.
This kind of decision can be catastrophic. As a matter of reality, most idle women find it difficult to cope when their husband dies.
They don’t even know where to start from especially when the kids are still small and are in need of financial care.
I have also seen a situation when a very rich man died and left all his money for the idle wife. Because of her inexperience and lack of exposure, she was unable to manage the resources and businesses left for her by the late husband.
She ended up allowing outsiders come in to help her manage the businesses. I am very sure that your guess is as good as mine, the supposed manager ran the business aground and disappeared with a chunk of money leaving her miserable and helpless.
If you find this article very helpful kindly help educate others who might be making the same mistakes by sharing the article to them. Kindly use any of the share options available.

Music/Radio › Re: 13 Songs Of 2018 That Should Have Been Hits by ajayiopy: 9:03pm On Jan 29, 2019 |
magazineguy: 2018 was a memorable year in the Nigerian music industry with chart-topping bangers, show business and live music selling out both home and abroad. The plethora of genres and artistes were able to synchronize thus making their art acceptable to Nigerian music lovers. Before now, the genre marketable in the country was restricted to Afro-pop, as the major consumers were party and club junkies. These days, Afro beats have become the norm and other genres are beginning to gain ground and cover the leftover space already occupied in the hearts of Nigerian music lovers. As Nigerian music creators brace themselves for another year to win more fans and possibly increase their community of fans, this is a list of tunes curated that were unfortunate not to grow into hits:
Yawa – Ice Prince featuring Peruzzi
Ice Prince’s failed and desperate attempts at a come-back rested on the shoulders of a new breed in Peruzzi. The Fresh VDM’s produced soft tune made Ice Prince spit some bars that brought deja vu. Peruzzi’s assisted hook was more than perfect as the instrumental bounce on and off the notes. It’s very difficult to decipher the reason behind this great tune for not blowing up.
Baba Nla – Larry Gaga featuring Burna Boy, D’Banj and 2Baba
This joint in particular is special to me in many ways: Burna Boy calling out his neighbors, the police searching for him in the alleged incident with Mr. 2kay as he confessed in the opening verse, D’Banj playing the harmonica since his Mo’hits era, 2Baba serving some life lessons. It’s still a mystery to many industry pundits and journalists as regards Larry Gaga’s deal with Universal Music Nigeria. It should be noted that ‘Baba Nla’ was a song that had the country’s finest songs men on it but still got lost in the shuffles.
Miekeraso – Duncan Mighty
On his rejuvenation and best industry story of 2018, Duncan Mighty rubbed hands and the younger generation of musical talents of Wizkid, Davido and other artistes to deliver some of the best singles of 2018. The story behind Duncan’s stir can never be complete without the Salsa-inspired tune released at the close of 2018. The Port Harcourt based songwriter, singer, sound engineer and producer showed his diversification in multiple genres once again. Sadly, the song can never match the reception ‘Fake luv’ received.
Oh Oh Lucie – Runtown
Runtown’s unending legal battles with Dilly, his former boss at Eric Many may have dented the image he portrayed in 2017. Of course, the last arrow drawn also found its way into Runtown’s chest of unique sound and music. The dancehall tune was magnificent and beautiful to the ear as the repetitive echo of ‘Oh oh oh’ exposed the bass behind the instrumentals.
Wait – Maleek Berry
Sometimes, the consciousness Maleek spreads across his music makes his fans wish he was at the top of the world. The multi-talented hit man blessed music lovers but it’s despairing to conclude that ‘Wait’ was a failed master. Remember that Maleek hooked up with Kanye West in Uganda sometimes last year with the resultant of that meeting yet to be released. Maleek is loved by fans of Nigerian Music and that level is the point they want to see their favorite.
African Woman – 1Da Banton
The South boasts of artistes who have turned compact kings in their regions. Surprisingly, his hit ‘Way Up’ still made it to the eviction night soundtrack of the Big Brother Naija 2018 reality TV show. ‘African Woman’ boasted of unusual synchs and elements in the instrumental. 1Da Banton couldn’t have more in more energy. I can only blame it on promotional strategies at Squareball.
Dumebi – Fiokee featuring Davido and Peruzzi
Talented guitarist finally engraves his name as the lead credit in a record but this is one he may not forget in a while. Despite enlisting the most sought-after names in the industry in 2018, ‘Dumebi’ failed to hit major charts on radio and popular music blogs.
Ji Masun – Idowest featuring Davido
In one of the most popular used acronyms today, ‘Ji Masun’ , the Yoruba saying which translates for ‘Stay Woke’, Idowest proved to his fans that he can be as charismatic as Olamide, Reminisce and CDQ on the streets. This indigenous rapper and one of the pioneers of the ‘Shaku shaku’ movement still has a lot to prove to his fans. Idowest, who had previously been signed to two different imprints in the past, with his DMW contract being the third contract in three years. Idowest must stay real and release credible tunes for the streets and fans in the mainstream. ‘Ji Masun’ got hassled out of the playlist even with Davido’s vocals on the heavy production.
Pempe – Sean Tizzle
Maybe Sean shouldn’t have stayed away from the scene for too long, maybe a rest shouldn’t be in the plan for Nigerian artistes after starting a fire. The case of Sean Tizzle and the epic rejection of ‘Pempe’ by Nigerian OAPs and DJs is a lesson in disguise. Obviously, Sean Tizzle’s sultry voice was not missed and the reasons behind the tune’s collapse will still be a cloudy despite cementing one of the most coveted female producers in Dunnie.
Pray – DDE featuring Teni and Phyno
Teni made her vocals onto an eastern inspired production with Phyno embracing his antics in ‘fada fada’. ‘Pray’ was predicted to be a hit in the making but few weeks after its release, that projection became shaky and eventually disappeared painfully from the roll calls of hits in 2018.
Broke boi – Victor AD, DJ Epic
Victor proved to many lovers and fans of music as the revelation of 2018, ‘Wetin we gain’ smashed walls and broke all barriers as arguably the song of the year 2018. Deep down his bin, ‘Broke boi’ stands as his most slept on record of 2018. It is not bad after all as ‘Wetin we gain’ never for once stopped playing on stereos and speakers on streets all over the country. Victor’s ability to serve motivational and inspirational records sees him sit on a tree where music has become a spiritual subject in Nigeria.
Idahams – No One Else
In the same styles that love tunes are laborious to create, the same calls for the growth and cementing proper spots on charts. ‘No one else’ depicted a young man’s hustle for love and feelings. Idahams and his Grafton Records team were hard-working to build the brand a talented singer, songwriter and producer in such a short time with potential for popularity and attention shooting up by the day.
Melanin – Afro B
Team Salut may not be your favourite squad to stalk online on social media but Afro-B has done so great in 2018 that ‘Melanin’ was not in the viral vehicle of hits that drove till the ending of 2018. Melanin boasted of a simple production with random drops of keys at intervals.

Ray97: A Bank Verification Number (BVN) search may have exposed more accounts linked to the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen.
Detectives are understood to have written three banks for details of the alleged accounts of the suspended CJN.
The banks are Standard Chartered Bank, Union Bank and Heritage Bank, according to a preliminary report on the activities of Onnoghen by the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) and other agencies.
The CJN is accused of false declaration of assets. A six-count charge has been filed against him.
Further investigation into Onnoghen’s accounts notwithstanding, the United States of America, the United Kingdom and the European Commission (EU) yesterday urged caution on the part of the federal government in its handling of his case.
The US called for due process to be followed in the matter while UK faulted the timing of the suspension.
Sources knowledgeable about the investigation of Onnoghen’s finances revealed to The Nation yesterday the turn-over in the alleged accounts of the CJN as follows:
USD account from October, 2012 to September, 2016 — $1,922,657.00 GBP (£) account from 2012 to September, 2016 — £138, 439.00 Euro account as at September 30, 2016 — €55,154.00 Naira account from September, 2005 to October, 2016 — N91, 962.362.49 A document sighted by The Nation correspondent states: “Upon receipt of the report, a preliminary investigation was conducted during which the following actions were carried out:
“A request was sent to the Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) for a report on the suspect.
“A letter of investigation activities was sent to Standard Chartered Bank, Union Bank and Heritage Bank to provide the statements of accounts of the suspect;
“A BVN search through the NIBSS platform was conducted on the suspect and six (6) more accounts were found to be linked or connected to the suspect;
“The statements of accounts of the suspect were analyzed and further to that, a letter was written to Standard Chartered Bank requesting for additional information on suspicious activities in the account.”
There was anxiety yesterday over alleged restriction on the movement of Justice Onnoghen.
Security was tightened at the official quarters of the Justices of the Supreme Court.
Journalists were turned back from gaining access to the quarters in the three arms zone.
A reliable security source said: “Yes, the security around the quarters was enhanced but I doubt your insinuation of restriction of movement of the CJN.
“With the tension generated by the suspension of the CJN, security agencies are only taking pre-emptive action to prevent the judges from harm.”
There were also strong indications last night the battle over Onnoghen’s fate would shift to the court tomorrow.
A counsel in the defence team of the CJN said: “We will go to court to challenge the illegal suspension of His Lordship.
“We hope the Federal Government will respect any court order reinstating the CJN. Anything otherwise is a judicial anarchy.”

Naijaalive: Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted to the withdrawal of Oby Ezekwesili, as the presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, ACPN
Oby Ezekwesile has finally opted out of a presidential race in which she had little chance of winning even one per cent of the votes.
It would have been easier for a pregnant Somalian chimpanzee or a four-eyed Zambian frog to be invited to Buckingham Palace for lunch with the Queen than for this so-called "presidential aspirant" to win one polling booth, let alone one ward or one Local Govermment Area, in the race.
The fact that Oby's running mate, one Galadima, and her political party endorsed Buhari three hours after she opted out of the race speaks volumes.
She, Fela Durotoye and Omoyele Sowore were clearly spoiler candidates who were on a malevolent errand of mischief, who were never to be taken seriously and whose hearts secretly lay with the tyrant all along.
I have no doubt that those who claim that Oby and the other "not too young to run" presidential aspirants, with the possible exception of Kingsly Moghalu, were just a front for Buhari and a futile attempt to take votes away from Atiku Abubakar and the PDP were right.
The wisdom of Atiku refusing to participate in a debate with these unconciable jokers and desperate pretenders cannot be faulted or questioned.
They did not deserve the attention that they so desperately sought and their motives for participating in the presidential race are, to say the least, questionable.
The only one amongst them that had anything meaningful to say or to offer and that spoke from the heart and with full sincerity of purpose was George Moghalu. This is a deeply courageous man that I have come to respect.
Nevertheless I urge him to opt out of the race and throw his weight behind Atiku. This is not Kingsly's time but something tells me that sometime in the distant future he has a date with destiny.

Politics › Re: Fayose Left #155.79billion Debt –fayemi by ajayiopy: 7:40am On Jan 25, 2019 |
sojiboy: FAYOSE LEFT #155.79BILLION DEBT –FAYEMI
….as Ekiti Speaker flays ex –gov for denying them salaries and furniture allowances
Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has put the debts left behind by his predecessor, Ayodele Fayose at #155,791,785,214.08. Delivering the State of the State address at the State House of Assembly, governor Fayemi said the sum was the total debt profile of Ekiti State as at 16th October, 2018.
Fayemi said he inherited "a State that was in total chaos and a people severely disorientated under a suppressive government who had raised and promoted deceit into statecraft".
Fayemi spoke just as the Speaker of the House , Hon Adediran Alagbada lamented that the immediate past administration of ex-Governor Fayose, denied the House members their salaries and furniture allowances despite making appropriations that covered such expenses. The governor stated that his administration had distanced itself from "political witch-hunting and media trials to score cheap political goals" but decided to give the State of the State in order to use the "lessons of the past to create the future of our dreams".
Fayemi disclosed that Ekiti State under Fayose received #184.83 billion as income between 2014 and 2018; noting that the former governor had no reason to owe salaries given the huge revenue that accrued to the State during the immediate past administration. While giving a breakdown of the debt profile, Fayemi said though borrowing is in itself not a bad thing, borrowing to fund self-serving and unproductive projects is unpatriotic.
He gave the breakdown of the debt as follows: Loans and bonds #57,694,460,298.79; salary arrears #16,777,257,608.52; outstanding leave bonus #4,402,585,167.53; corpers allowances #28,883,959.00; outstanding subventions #4,770,676,870.98; pension and gratuity arrears #39,775,919,872.02, and outstanding contractors claims #28,575,946,572.25. Others include Outstanding furniture allowance #470,266,137.09; severance allowance #586,144,167.51; monitized vehicle arrears #101,243,387.24; outstanding warrants #386,77,450.64; outstanding FIRS obligation #184,215,623.43; Traditional rulers arrears #150,214,204.10; judgement debts #95,048,963.35 and other outstanding liabilities #1,792,144,931.62. Fayemi said the debt profile was a product of the audit carried out by Pricewater Coopers (PWC).
The governor stated that he had used the first 100 days of his administration to "lay the needed foundation to restore our values and restore Ekiti State to its rightful position in the comity of States".
"This is our first stewardship in the series of others to be witnessed in the life of this administration in the fulfilment of our obligation to Ekiti people. As a government, we are more interested in building and strengthening institutions rather than wielding powers or self aggrandizement. This is the world best practice in governance and we are proud to thread that path to attain speedy economic recovery and value restoration for Ekiti State", he said.
He called on corporate organisations, donor agencies, the federal government and Ekiti people to support his administration in moving Ekiti State forward "economically, socially and politically".
Speaking on the forthcoming election, Fayemi urged everyone to play by the rules and be law abiding; urging Ekiti people to use the election to consolidate the gains of his administration in the last 100 days.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt Hon Adeniran Alagbada said Ekiti people have now got "new hope through the policies and programmes of the Fayemi-led government".
Alagbada who said the 100 days of Fayemi in government is "better than the four years of Fayose" called on Ekiti people to rally support for the governor to succeed. He lamented the poor treatment meted out to members of the House by the fayose administration, inspite of their support for the former Governor.
He said, the House had it on record that it made appropriation for for all government expemses and that it was sad that despite their support the former Governor denied them their salaries, allowances and furniture allowances were well provided for in the four budgets they passed during the duration of the administration.

Politics › Re: Breaking News:- India Offers Nigeria $5bn Line Of Credit by ajayiopy: 10:59am On Jan 22, 2019 |
GE9JA: Nigeria can explore $5bn line of credit with low interest rate from India, the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Abhay Thakur, has said.
Thakur made the disclosure when he visited the Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, according to a statement made available to our correspondent in Abuja on Monday.
He said that the Prime Minister of India made available to Africa $10bn credit line during India – Africa Forum Summit out of which only fifty per cent had been utilised.
The Indian envoy added that Nigeria had the opportunity to explore the credit line which had an interest rate of only 1.75 per cent.
“This is a good facility which to my knowledge half of it has just been utilised and for Nigeria, we can enhance our areas of collaboration,” the envoy said.
Thakur said India was making moves to upgrade the bilateral agreement existing between both countries in the areas of human capacity development, e-government, industrialisation and Information and Communications Technology.
Responding, Shittu said India was one of the best countries Nigeria had enjoyed a relationship with in terms of partnership.
Shittu said, “In the area of bilateral agreement, we can raise a team to work on crucial areas and look at the details and appraise what we can do on low hanging fruit that would be beneficial to both countries.
“A lot of Indian companies had often indicated interest to invest in Nigeria by way of establishing industries but rarely translate such into action, hence, the need to encourage them to translate such interest into reality.”
The minister called on the envoy to encourage India investors to establish a 5G village in Nigeria and also partner with stakeholders in building the proposed ICT Park in Abuja which is expected to be located in a free trade zone that would add beauty and elegance to the country as well as boost revenue base of the investors.
