Let's be realistic, how many boats are on Lagos water ?

I guess you guys like this Lagos life of waking up by 4.30am/5am for a work you're to resume 8am cheesy

There are quite a number of boats on Lagos water. The government has Lagferry and private investors contributes to the rest. Currently, the government is expanding the lagos water routes and building several new jetties. So yea, the government is ensuring that more Lagosians embrace water transportation through these initiatives.

it's a project in futility. Here are my reasons:
-No constant infact no electricity except you buy diesel and power big gens to charge them (cost of diesel and cost of generator repair is high and it's going to be a constant repair for a region with poor maintainance culture)
-parts of the bus just like the fossil fuel types too will be imported
-repairmen will likely be foreigners cos it's a new concept and we don't have capable hands
-bad mannered drivers and conductors, causing problems and loss of lives I'm citing the accident with a mini bus at ifako bridge and abduction of a lady for ritual purpose

OANDO will be building Universal Chargers at public places like malls and gas stations, and also at designated BRT bus stations. So that takes care of the electricity concerns.

This is a pilot phase and the idea is that if this turns out good, an Assembly plant will be built in Lagos for electric buses in the near future.

As for me, I don't see any reason to pump more cars on the road.
Because this will cause more traffic....

The government should consider water transportation

This is not about pumping more cars on the road. These new buses will also follow the existing BRT routes.

Also, maybe you are not aware, water transportation is being taken care of well by the current government.

He just soiled his name and reputation for nothing.

I hope you remember it's not only the governorship election that held. Even state HOA too held and those APC candidates in Kosofe, Ojo, Ajiromi where there people always vote the opposition won't want to lose.

So my conclusion is that they're the ones who sponsored the thugs.

All southwest states, alongside President elect Tinubu should energize DAWN agenda, especially on Power and roads.

We need to start sounding it to all of them, the DAWN agenda, thankfully though the current set of Governors in SW do not play politics of bitterness for not being in the same party so we can expect that they'll work together.

In 2011 elections, PDP won during Presidential election, guess what happened during the governorship election? ACN won it with a landslide. Go and verify.

Anyway, does that mean no one voted for LP in Shomolu? Lol

This rigging isn't sensible at all

What could have made them vote for LP in Shomolu? When they still have a performing governor in Sanwo-olu?

Or do you think governorship election in Lagos is same as the Presidential election?

If this election in Lagos was only about Lagos governorship election, my belief is that we wouldn't have witnessed this much thuggery in some areas in Lagos.

But then people are known to vote same party for both Governorship and State House of reps. It is mainly these House of rep candidates and their political leaders i feel, are sponsoring these havoc that is being wrecked especially in areas where APC lost during the Presidential elections.

Unfortunately, you can't distance Sanwo-olu from whatever is happening, because it is still his party.

Though my support has been for Sanwo-olu, i feel so disgusted with the several reports of voter intimidation and violence in some parts of Lagos.

Depending on how the people vote he may become a casualty, but I see him retaining his seat. Especially with this his last minute desprate efforts.
However he should try to be more humane and people friendly.
Auctioning off traffic offenders cars is the height of wickedness. Let him fine them.

I think this is where you get it wrong sir. The auctioning of cars is part of the Lagos traffic law and it applies to only traffic offenders who drive against traffic. I haven't seen where people commit other traffic offences in Lagos, and their cars were auctioned.

And this law was in existence before Sanwo-olu became governor, and it is the mobile court that passes the judgment, not Sanwo-olu. So they are simply following the provisions of the law. If the people of Lagos feel this is a draconian measure, then the government of Lagos should be sued and made to repeal that law or make it a fine, like you suggested.

Politics / Obi Leads Tinubu With Over 1,000 Votes In 17 Lagos Lgas by Ajibel(m): 8:27am On Feb 27, 2023
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi is leading his counterpart in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu with over 1,000 votes in 17 local government areas (LGAs) in Lagos State.

As of the time of filing this report at 07:30am on Monday, Obi polled 448,878 while Tinubu scored 447,187 votes in 17 local government areas in Lagos.

The figures are according to results collated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the February 25 presidential election in Lagos.

INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Olusegun Agbaje opened the floor at the state collation centre in the Yaba area of the state on Sunday and the collation ran until midnight on Monday.

The results for 17 of the state’s 20 LGAs presented by 3:40 am on Monday including Lagos Mainland, Ikorodu, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos Island, Badagry, Agege, Ikeja, Shomolu, Kosofe, Amuwo Odofin, Eti Osa, Surulere, Apapa, Ifako Ijaiye, Ajeromi, Oshodi Isolo.

Results presented for Mushin LGA have yet to get cleared by the state collation officer as they are being contested by the Inter-party Advisory Committee (IPAC) and thus had yet to be signed by most party agents.

INEC asked that they be presented afresh.

Meanwhile, Ojo and Alimosho are the only two LGAs left to be announced. The REC in the state is expected to reconvene later on Monday for the final collation of results.

Of the 87, 209,007 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collected nationwide for the election, 6,214,970 PVCs were collected in Lagos. This is closely followed by Kano with 5,594,193, and Kaduna with 4,164, 473.

Lagos is the base of who was governor of the state from 1999 to 2007. Aside from Tinubu and Obi, an ex-governor of Anambra State, other presidential candidates in the race include Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
