The reason why we have over 340 pages on this thread is because people keep asking the same questions all over again without reading through the thread. Questions like : -How can I pay for Assessment using my Naira card -Do I have to do IELTS/Assessment before entering the pool. In trying to be nice to answer, the thread gets elongated and as such becomes tiring for someone starting from page 0. I will implore us to try and read up before asking questions please. We really do not have to have up to 345 pages for this thread. The first few pages have the basic info you need. |

dupyshoo: Yes it does, if you have up to or above CLB 9 (8777 in LRWS), you will get extra 25 marks for combination of 3 year work experience and CLB9 IELTS and another 25 marks for combination of 2 or more certificates/MSC and CLB9 IELTS score.
So to guarantee a score above 450, you need the following: 1. CLB9 and above in IELTS, 2. 2 or more certificates and above under education 3. 3 or more years of work experience and 4. age not more than 31 yearsold. Have 1-3 except age. Is age that powerful as to drop my points to 425? |

IamIye: Good morning all. Please I'll appreciate the input of all the gurus in the house esp people who really understand the POF bits. So I was in the UK all through last year(doing my masters) and was therefore not using my bank account in Nigeria.
At the point where I need to submit POF, if I use my Nig bank account, the average balance for the first 3 months would be about N10,000 because that's all that was left in the account until i returned home.
Upon returning to Nigeria a family member gifted me with a sum(for the purpose of this PR application); he paid it into my account and I also added the funds I converted from Pounds to Naira so from month 4 to 6 the average balance shoots up drastically and the current balance of month 6 even exceeds the amount required for settlement.
I intend to get a gift deed for the sum transferred to me from the family member, but I'm still worried because of the huge difference between the first three months and the last three months.
So far 2 options have crossed my mind: 1. I have a joint account with my brother and that account remained active even when I was abroad. I can transfer the monetary gift back to the family member who gave me and tell him to pay it into the joint account, get a gift deed for that , and just use that account as POF
Or
2. Use my personal account but write a letter of explanation that I was abroad and that's why the first 3 months were dormant, get a bank statement from my UK account to show that I had money running elsewhere, and then still get a gift deed for the sum gifted to me by the family member.
Which of these options is the best pls? And if anyone has other suggestions kindly share. Thank you & God bless I will personally go with option 2. I read somewhere where it said if the joint account holder is not your dependent the account is not acceptable as POF. |

dupyshoo: It did not affect me as I have loads of close relatives (Uncles, Aunties and Cousins) in Canada that I did not declare. As I said earlier, I indicated I had relatives before ITA but when I saw the documents required to support the claim, I had to change my answer to "No". Will I now get supporting documents for my over 10 relatives? What if they had even left Canada?
Why did I do so? I believe having relatives in Canada is a "positive" since it will add points to your eligibility score. So, indicating that I don't have any relatives in Canada means that I will lose some eligibility points. As, I am losing points and not adding points to my eligibility score, then it should not be a problem.
Please note that this is just my opinion. Please what are the required docs? Also for those who'd like to use family as sponsor in Provincial nominee, what are the supporting documents? Can anyone who has scaled the hurdle using family as sponsor/nominee give us heads up. Thanks. |

teewhysafe: Good morning..
PTE results came back yesterday evening:
Listening 86, Speaking 86, Writing 87 Reading 78.
Enabling skills: Grammer 81, Oral Fluency 76, Pronunciation 80, Spelling 47, Vocabulary 85, Written Discourse 79
Fiance is so pissed. He was scored 47 in Spelling and he is still wondering how or why cos he wasn't asked to spell anything and he ensured he avoided typos. It was even the Speaking section he was unsure of.
Just one point. It is well sha.. Please ooo Ayam not understanding. what I read on page 1 for 20 points is : You have achieved a test score of at least 79 in each of the four test components (speaking, reading, listening and writing) in a Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic why is your fiancé upset? Modified: oh ok . I see 78 |

jamson: The almighty VETASSESS is the assessing body here and I hear they won't even look at your documents without at least one year experience in the occupation you are nominating. Also as SA (another wahalish state when it comes to 190) don put am under special conditions, to say the odds are high is an understatement. I suggest you should work with the other occupations you were looking at against next immigration year, that reduces your odds significantly. Hopefully, policy reviews will Favour you in the coming year. Nothing stops you however from prepping your documents for assessment to save time.
SegunWamiri, thanks for the insight.... Thanks Bro. |

jamson: Tough one!! Must confess, my strength is in the Engineering field and my advice is limited (and subject to further verification) on other occupations.
However, having looked through SOL and CSOL, I saw the following
Sales and Marketing Manager 131112 AIM
Corporate Services Manager 132111 VETASSESS
Finance Manager 132211 CPA/ICAA/IPA
I think they (all on CSOL) are occupations you should look at and see if any is worth exploring. Just do a little research into the states sponsoring them. Then depending on your number of years on the job, some of the assessing bodies might overlook your first degree and focus on your years on the job. I even think your MBA might be an added advantage here (if it doesn't cut off too much from your years of experience)
I am sure the bosses can help with further advice. I read Library studies and I have never worked a day as a librarian. Do you fancy my chances of applying as one (South Australia is still open for high points). My IELTS IS LSRW 8.5,7,7,7, I just want to work on any glimmer of hope I can have. |

jamson: Ok. I work in a bank (IT Network and Comms). I assessed under EA and my assessment outcome was fantastic. 2 of my 3 career episode was based on work experience (inside the bank ooo).
EOI....check ITA....check
Long story short, it doesn't matter where you work. It is what you are doing or have done (as reflected in your reference, resume and episodes, if you are an engineer).
Are you a banker? Bro, you are an engineer joor. with CDR you are ok. I am a Banker but not an Engineer. I read Library Studies (Undergraduate) and have MBA. Worked all career life in the Bank (Marketing/Branch Management). Couldn't seem to be able to find something to hook up to on ANZSCO currently. Can you advise? |

hordunayodt: All the bosses pls don't look at me like this, what other method can I use to get this payment done. Reply will be appreciated For all those asking for options to pay here is the only one available from Banks : 1.Get a USD Prepaid Card from the Bank and load with dollars bought from the black market (a bit expensive but still better than none). The card usually is like USD 20 while you pay an annual fee of USD18. Stanbic IBTC has that and it works. 2. Open a dorm account with your Bank and ask for a USD Debit Card -Still the same process. You will have to fund the account from the Black market. That is the ONLY option available if you don't have anyone to help you from "the abroad". |
