me too i tried to reason am but i looked closely some people bided 12 percent but the cbn got all even at 1.2....it crazy
Could it be they are not being truthful with the bids rates, because no individual investors in his or her right sense would tie funds down for 1.2% when saving interest is 3.75, much of these funds aren't from individuals, seems like a game.

Such figures should motivate a young person to start investing early instead of such a young person getting a new job and the first thing he/she does is to go and buy the latest Iphone and be taking pictures and posting on whatsapp status update.
Motivation is key, lately I've been viewing a lot properties in Lekki n my wife will say to me, but you don't have money to buy now, I told her, I'm just dreaming, at least it cost nothing to dream. Hoping to actualize that dream in 5 yrs time

Stop calling an honest person a coward please. This is why many people pretend to be happy for you when inside inside they are jealous. Because if they are honest with their feelings people will call them cowards.
You didn't get the picture of my msg. Also, being jealous of me then have the guts to tell me doesn't make you an honest person, you only Express what you have bottled up for long, such person is toxic to me. There is difference btwn jealousy and enviness and each can spur you up positively or negatively, depending on your approach.

I don't know maybe this a stupid appeal but Sirs & Ma's, it would be nice if you don't reveal cash transactions on this thread. Not only for the fear of being prey to scammers (I believe they're present here as well), but so you don't discourage young folks like myself by the figures you call. Madam Sholapey decline at a certain offer almost made me lose my hold on my keypad wink
cowards/failure do that, you are better than that. Get motivated not intimidated, start dreaming big. Sometimes if you don't dream them, you won't have them

Update

FGN bond coming up on the 22nd July...3 bonds are re opening while 1 is New issue. Below is the details:

N25,000,000,000 - 12.50% FGN JAN 2026 (10-Yr Re-opening)*
N35,000,000,000 - 12.50% FGN MAR 2035 (15-Yr Re-opening)*
N35,000,000,000 - FGN JUL 2045 (25-Yr New Issue)*
N35,000,000,000 - 12.98% FGN MAR 2050 (30-Yr Re-opening)*

Yield should be around 8-9% for the new issue.

Any investor investing 100M can exit at any time.
Do you mean to say 8/9% yield for the reopening bonds, how will a new issue of 2045 has a yield of 8%? Meanwhile, this is the previous bids stops

People that borrow with no intention to pay back always set traps for their beneficiaries. Just like what end the life of founder of Gokoda.
True my sister, there are risks attached to doing good sometimes. The gokada guy was lenient with his assistant to pay back but he took his life instead. It take some people time to realise that you are all you've got

You need additional security. You need an agreement to that effect. You might need a lawyer to draw up an agreement, which will be registered and deposited with the nearest high court
.Do you have to go this route?...

Why can't you direct him to the nearest bank or loan him an amount you can decide to write off eg 500k or any amount you are comfortable with
Talking about loan, my account officer called me for a dumb loan first bank is offering fixed income customers including TB customers, they call it cashback loan. You fix xx amount for 0.03%, then liable to get a loan worth 90% amount fixed. You pay 5% + 0.03 at the end. I just smiled, you want me to use my money do bizz then pay you 5.03% for that.

Akin, I didn't post it to object or to spoil his bidding. I posted it for him not to get scammed by unknown because I am the owner and that's the only agent I gave the property to manage the adverts. The asking price is clearly stated on his jiji page and the company webs.

Kind regards!
Oh I c, you've done well. May almighty God continue to bless you.

Shola, why did you post the advert here? Don't you think this can spoil the guy deal as others might develop interest and bid higher than him.

[quote author=emmasoft post=91883383]CSCS account is to your shares as bank account is to your money. That means for your shares to be in cscs account, you must bring in your physical certificate (access bank certificate) or any company's certificate to your stockrocking firm which can be investment one if you open account with us in a process called dematrialization (digitizing paper certificate).

Thanks Emma, will go ahead to set it up. But can I link the cscs acc with my bond later on as the acc wouldn't be ready before I submit my form on Monday?

I need some advice my people. This four flat house is selling for 20 mill in bashorun Ibadan.

Rent is 350k, is this a good idea?
Exactly what the FG want, pump the money out on businesses or real estate. Investors stand no chance with the low rate than to engage in bizz. Back to your question, the house seems a good deal n still look neat, but price down to 18m/19m, cash is king.

At Investment one you don't need cash to get cscs account. All you need to do is click the link on my signature to register online, the account will be sent to your email in 48hrs or less. You can actually open account for different products - stockbroking (cscs), Abacus mmf, VGIF, Dollar Vantage fund VDF etc all at the same time, after that you can now bring in your funds you and invest in any of the product you are interested in.
N.B: You will need to provide your kyc documents and upload them at the last page of the form.
Talking about cscs account, I have a share certificate with access bank, obtained in 2012, is it possible that my cscs acc is on the certificate, and if yes, how can I check if the acc is still valid? Thanks

Good, i believe for me to trade I will need a cscs acc which I don't have for now, getting one ready seems late for the Wednesday auction as I need to submit my form on Monday. Will it be possible to link my cscs acc with the bond later on?

Please bond investor dont confuse the name of the bond to the current yields (profits) example a bond can be 12.5 percents 2023 reopening with current yielda of 6 percent ( your eye should be on this ) this is not new bond but been refinanced....
Thanks so much for your input, I think I will be going for the new issue ,13% is okay if the bidding scale through. 25 yrs is such a long period but should any sudden need of funds arise, I will bank on my business, money market & real estate..hmm,just motivating my self cool

I bought the last sukuk bond using my cscs account, so I intend to use same cscs account for the Fgn bond. You may contact a stock broking firm to open a cscs account for you just incase your bank says it is compulsory. However, I don’t think it is compulsory.
Thanks. Which of the tenures are you going for and what % do you have in mind to bid for? Are u buying through the bank or stock broking firms, I contacted fbnquest but they couldn't help out, was told that thier bonds start from 200m

Oh I can see that, but how can one know the true yields for the 10 years bond ? I don't think I can subscribe to a 25 years bond with just 12.98, inflation will definitely eat deep before then.

the shortest tenure will have low rate ....target the new issue
I think the new issue I can see there is 25 years for 12.98. The bonds for 5 or 10 years attracts 12.5, not too much difference. Also, can one bid higher or lower that the stipulated rates?

Will be going for the least tenure, 5 or ten years. I believe they have three auction dates, should I miss the first auction, I can go for the August auction? Is there anyone in the house that have successfully purchased FG bonds before not saving bond ?

Hello house

I tried purchasing the federal government bond announced earlier in January through stanbic bank and the whole thing is looking So difficult and confusing.

At first, despite stanbic being listed as one of the places one can get the bond, their staffs didn’t know anything about it. I had to make calls upon calls to their various customer care number before I could get hold of someone who understood me.

To cut the long story short, I went to the bank, explained to the staff in charge of bonds whom as expected knew nothing about it. But after I gave her some specific information about the bond as given to me by their customer care, she swong into action.

But up till now, we are stock at opening a cscs account. I’ve been to the bank trice to ask why it’s taking time, and it’s one story to the other.

Pls, does it take time to open a cscs account? We’ve been on this since January. Last time they told me the ID provided was dark. I’ve given them another ID, yet it’s taking ages.

Also, is there a way I can get this bond easily. I am considering approaching Firstbank.

Kindly note it’s not the normal fgn savings bond with max of 5 years tenure. This one has upto 30 years and with better rates. See screenshot for more details
Were you able to buy the bonds eventually?

3rd quarter bond calender
I was at first bank today to make enquiries about the bond, the first branch I went to said they know nothing about it, checked with stanbic, they are well informed and gave me a form, still not pleased with first bank ignorance, went to my branch with intent to move funds out, then they said no o, we can help you make enquiries, later this evening, I got a call to come on Monday to fill the form. I'm hoping the auction scale through and not stalled by them

if i buy a 2018 benz today and show him he will say whaoo nice ....i will buy a 2020 my bmw 2016 is old now ... .
That's a trait of enviness, when you buy or achieve a new milestone and instead of your friends to congratulate you and enjoy the moment with you but instead start complaining on how he would have achieved same if not because of this or that, shows he's not really happy for you and his wish are, why him, why not me or both of us. The point is many people are in a silent race with you unknown to you, so when you leave them behind, they get hurt.

This is in bad taste.

That means you never had a friend all through. Or don't know how to make quality friendship.

Who said it must even be at a bar? Some valuable friends, real friends may never get to your level that doesn't make them envious or useless.

Some of us have kept friends from our 1st year at school till date. Stop thinking everyone wants a piece of you because of your wealth.

And d bar isn't where to make quality friendship.
@bolded = off point. My post is deep and only the .......... ones can understand. How and when do you certify a person to be yours truly? There's something you don't know about that someone you believe you know so much. Not only money spurs jealousy, I was with a matured friend gisting, then he said, anytime there is a baby dedication in my church and I heard them shouting bouncing baby boy, I get upset and leave the auditorium. I need not ask him why but reason is ,he's got only girls and hating on those with.....I have both sex and sometimes says the words like: my boys in his presence.. Most people hate what they don't have.

Being poor doesn't necessarily turn one to hater but your mindset does. I won't advise anyone to quit a long time blossom friendship because of financial discrepancy but if your friend exhibit friendenemy symptoms, don't be too naive to say he's my childhood pals, human mind is too deep.

The fact is that real friends and business savvy friends are scarce, what most of us have are drinking partners some also have Shinaaa partners. How many of the so called friends can we discuss planning for the future with?
You don't feel free or safe discussing business/investments with friends that can't keep up with you financially, how can you gist about buying bonds worth of millions with a friend that doesn't have 500k in his account, you are only brewing jealousy which could consume one life. Sometimes, the more you grow financially the less friends you should have.

You've got a car,a house, a family and other things that make life comfy, but a buddy that is struggling to keep up.. how relax can you be having drinks in a bar with such friends.. ? seems playing with fire... Each conversation you have with such friend becomes a trap of jealousy that may result in conflicts. God help you if you have the type that smile and laugh convincingly to be worthy of a true pals but deep down, he's patiently waiting for your downfall n the day he will say.. shey na only

You should have used at least 50% of your funds in money market to buy the last Sukuk, the coupon can then be used to buy money market funds.
It's a big regret n a great loss to me i didn't get to know about the bond until 2 days to it's end date, was trying to retrieve my cscs , novice me I never knew I could get it done without that. I'm hoping to buy some bonds via stanbic but last time I made enquiry of it, the response was so clumsy that the responder couldn't tell me in clear terms my exact interest. Will give it a shot again when I'm able to visit their office
