What is the rate for the bond. You should be able to buy from the secondary, FG bonds give higher rates compared to FG savings bonds
How can one buy into FG bonds? I understand that it takes minimum of 50m to buy, but how can one go about it. I also understand that interest is biannual , can one buy via investment house like fbn quest?

Ahib... u n this your properties things, lol. I'm sure you are seceretly preserving your *major* capitals via bonds n likes,n not investing much of it in real estate. Real Estate is cool until you experience tenants from hell, some of us here have got some properties that bring yearly returns ,hence we just need steady gains from TBs,bond etc to balance the equation. You've got a positive vibes that I like

Hope you are aware that there is always a minimum holding period of 30days, hence there may be a penalty charge for redemption less than 30 days. I think that may be the reason for the shortfall.
I'm very much aware of that, funny enough i never requested nor try to redeem my interest , just woke up to check the app, realised my accrued interest show zero, check my bank acc afterwards, got that amount. Fbn things always get kleg, cos my stanbic mmf doesn't act up n always accurate with interest. I will contact them on Monday for clarification . Thanks

Relax it's the usual end of year things. You will notice by now your accrued interest as at 31st December have been reinvested or paid to you bank account depending on your option regarding your interest. By Monday all your accrued interest from 1st to 5th will reflect. Though I work for investment one their model in FBN is same with ours.
just checked my account n yes you are right, the interest was paid into my account as at 31 dec,but what baffles me is that ,I had gained up to #20,000 as at the last time I checked my mmf account but only received 12,241 naira, the principal amount is 7m, investments runs for only 12 days, from dec 19th until 31st dec, furthermore, my present accrued balance shows *nothing* leaving 3 days investments not accounted for. How can accrued 20k gains be reduced to 12,241naira, eventhough some taxes were withheld , it shouldn't be that crazily much, is there anything I'm missing here? This kinda seems confusing unlike my lovely TBs which is always direct n unconfusing

Nothing added to my capital, paid to me?, I can't remember asking them to send my interest to my account, besides it's just 15 days I started the investments ,I believe you can only have access to your funds after one month of initial deposit. I'm trying to check my bank account balance to see if anything is sent but can't due to network errors

Okay, let me quickly explain something here.

Just like you, I decided to do Uber/Bolt/OCar to understand the business model

Within a given week, I lost 10k each to police and airport touts respectively.

I had to stop. The way the business operates, if you are not careful, you may think that you are making money until one thing will come and take away everything that you have worked for.

Go to the Uber thread and read of a guy who recently lost 32,800 to the airport touts. His was high because he was caught in the airport premises.

There was a day I took a rider to Ajao Estate. Trip ended 1k. My exhaust spoilt that I spent about 7k to fix it due to the bad road that I entered.

I'm about fixing my car body with 30k, all thanks to danfo buses that scratched it. Sometimes, a Keke driver would break your side mirror of 18k and run away.

A guy had his back windscreen broken by razz police officers because he refused to allow them way to enter the road.

Now, there are much more that drivers experience on the job.

So, it's not all about the dashboard money, there are more to transportation businesses that the people involve in it can hardly make any tangible investment other than to feed
Hmmm I kuku understand your points n the angle u r coming from, GOD-IS-NO-WHERE is still same as GOD-IS-NOW-HERE, All depends on its pronunciation and your mindset. Bro, making money comes with a task. I guess u are driving a posh car for the ehailing bizz, doesn't work that way, as much as the jobs seems a clean job, it's not, because of our bad roads n the kings of the road(danfos). I'm very used to that uber thread you mentioned, as a matter of fact, I have a different moniker there, just to ask questions as a common hustler , I learnt those dos n don't before embarking on this journey, my learnings from the gurus there taught me where to go n where not, how to make the money ,how to avoid touts,e.t.c ( there is always secrets to every successful biz) .I intend starting the bizz with 2 cars, the popular ones use for the ehailing bizz, i park my fancy car at home, use the regular one to know whatsup, my wife was like, this one doesn't befits you,I say it's just for a while, it's been three weeks of my adventurous driving, money flows but come with hard work. Sometimes ago, I read about a guy here that has 500k but was reluctant to make some vigorous moves,I saw different advices from people to cheer him up, I just laughed it out, this money making thing is more of inwards spirit than physical . If your spirit is not upset with your present situation, don't dream of any progress.

This happened last year. I enjoyed up to 14.8% interest rate.

All my respective bills will mature on January 30. By then, I would decide on what to do.

That said, I would rather leave my money in my savings account and receive small interest than invest in Uber or Okada.
Quite understandable, I'm about to invest in transportation, uber/mass transit, so i took some time off to practice what I'm about to delve into, it's been 3 weeks now driving on bolt my self, leave office by 2pm, do my adventures driving till 9pm, most times, 8/9k realized after fuel fee, so I'm trying to know the logics/ tactics behind this bizz, cos every bizz has its own, if you don't know the tricks well enough, you will be played. So far, still observing tho, but if a driver can't pay you 30k weekly, take back ur cash cow from him, i know of someone that has 12 cars in uber n not complaining, there must be ways he goes about it that prevents him being shoked. Let's get active, let's do business ( at least start with 10% of ur capitals in tbs, till tbs will be back to normal), let's smile to the bank.

The guy has just 500k savings. Where is he going to stay when he gets to lagos? Rent a house and buy basic things in it. How much would be left for him to survive till he gets reasonable thing doing in Lagos? There are millions of people already in Lagos and trying different things just to be financially free to no avail.

Honestly, getting funny inspiration from those that succeeded is not enough o. What about the millions that tried and failed? We are built differently. What works for me, might not work for you.

I ran into my secondary school best friend in lekki job hunting and I decided to help him. I taught him my business and how to run it from importation and all. I even gave him important contacts and a million naira to start small which he did but guess what? Within a year, everything went underground! shocked

Don't waste your time, fbn eurobond is stressful.

They don't have internet access where you can monitor your funds, everything is via email and their customer service is rubbish.

Stanbic has a lower entry fee of 1000 dollars , internet access, better customer service

Sorry folks for derailing, learnt a lot from everyone here, so must give back
You are correct about them not having an online portal to monitor one investment, i asked the guy and he said, but we can send your statement every week if requested. Stanbic is doing 6.5 dividends for now, while first bank offer 9.7, quite juicy..but being not a zero risk investment kinda putting me off,as your capitals maybe affected (he said rarely) . In another news... Wonder why stanbic won't open a mutual funds acc for me, it's been a week already, all i hear whenever i visit the bank is, the people in charge haven't get back to me, the banker says. Anybody experiencing delay in MM acc set up?

I'm Presently at fbnquest in ikoyi, i think the eurobond thing is not bad, 9.7 dividends bi annual, with a minimum investment of $2,500,though rate fluctuates. Fbn mutual funds still pay 11.5 as at yesterday , so seems we are still on point . Meanwhile ,my matured stanbic Tbs for today hasn't drop ( 2.30pm),anybody in my shoe?

This scenario played out in 2007/2008 when there was too much money in the hands of citizens not knowing what to do. All of a sudden the entire airwaves every now and then was adverts of Initial Public Offerings of different commodities. While the foolish (including me) were front loading their money into and open ended pipe in the name of buying into an IPO and admiring the certificates, the financial crooks were at the back end of the pipe off loading the money in the name of trading (by hyping and manipulating share prices). Recession was the result. Sometimes i wished all my capital then were even in just a savings account without interest. The loss was too much. AFter then, i discovered Government Securities.

One thing to note is this. Money is like energy. For everyone that lost money, some other person gained it. The sad part is, 100 people can loose money to 1 person. The reverse is never the case. With the latest trend, there is likely going to be another experience of too much money and myriads of scammers. Even when a legit investment come your way, there is likelihood of funds over saturation which makes an investment company become obsessed. Only those with track records will be able to hold investors funds in keeping with promises.

I have series of BONDs and TBs maturing From February 2020 and Bonds coupons going on with the next one in December.

None of those moneys will be used for any other investment other than what i am used to. I will rather keep them trekking (short TBs or MMF) and wait for the prime time or nothing.
Standing firm to what one believes is the yardstick to success, I've lost money in many businesses in d past, so i know the pain's that come with a loss, now i believe every naira count.if i don't or can't generate at least 15% on my capital, i don't spend out of it. same here I've got Tbs maturing come February n will love to invest in bonds, do you by any chance know n can expatiate on FG bonds, not saving bonds, I've been asking my bank fbn/stanbic,none of them seems to know about these bonds that pay coupons biannual. Will be splitting my funds come next year. on mmf, tbs, transportation, bonds and of course Ghana tbs

Have you heard about the saying "put your money where your mouth is".

There are complications with financial investments, if you don't live in or are not from the country where you intend to invest, don't do it.

The stress you will go through when there is a problem will threaten the return of capital.

Invest in Nigeria where you can attend to any complications within 24 hours.
Apart from a possible currency conversion rate instabilities , there is no known risk. If you are a Ghanaian that come to Nigeria to invest in tbs, your investment is as secured as a Nigerian that invest in such. Vice versa for a Nigerian that do same in Ghana, just make sure you don't cut corners (fake docs or go against the law) while setting up ur Ghana bank acc, then you are good to go. Treasury bills is not like cocoa beans you sun and stand by to make sure they are well dried, you invest and move on, your presence in the country after investments doesn't matter.

Please I don’t understand First Bank
Applied two weeks ago for primary market Tbill. The bid was unsuccessful and they refunded my money into my account.
I’ve already decided to go into forex with a part of the money and needed the other part for some things since I got cash strapped this week.
Now, I just checked my account balance and they’ve deducted the amount again against auction next week.
This is wrong, I didn’t give any additional directive to them to redo the Tbills request.
Please has anyone experienced this? How can I revert it?
Like, my acct balance is almost zero.. embarassed
Don't know the part of forex you have decided to venture into, but if it's forex trading, think twice it's not a business but a Gamble. Good luck

I have never loose my capital......rather keep getting the coupon payments at the said payment date.

How does one recover shared when the stock brokering company is no longer existing?
I bought ecobank shares in 2007 with quantum securities. Up till 2019 I have not seen any dividends from them. I tried shares again in 2012 using ecl as stock broker, now it looks like they have also gone out of the market. Is there a way to sell those shares? I'd rather a 1% TB that I can see than audio shares money.
I bought intercontinental shares some years ago, everything thing was going well, i did receive good dividends back then, suddenly they started bringing dividends worth of 16 naira, the way the cheque will be packaged, you will think I've won a lottery. I've been a forex trader for years, i do liken forex to shares, the instability is a NO for me, my risk appetite now is so low.
