Gloria Okon was a female drug smuggler whose story drew a lot of attention in 1985 mostly because of the circumstances surrounding her arrest and death.



On April 22, 1985, Gloria Okon was arrested at the Aminu Kano International Airport with substances suspected to be heroin and narcotics.

She was on her way to England when she was caught with 56.70 grammes of the substances, 301 dollars, 60 pounds sterling, N20,000 and 19,000 Italian Lira.

A Louisiana woman has landed in the hospital for medical treatment after she mistakenly used adhesive spray “Gorilla Glue spray” on her hair instead of the normal hair spray.



Tessica Brown’s hair trouble went viral in early February after she revealed that she carried the same hairstyle for about a month, Not as if she like it that way but because she changed her usual Got2b Glued spray with the industrial-strength glue (Gorilla Glue Spray) since her glue spray got finished.



“My hair, it’s not moving. I hope you heard me well? It is not moving at all, I have washed the hair for more than 15 times but still not moving,” She said this on Instagram.

According to the Gorilla Glue website, the glue is 100% waterproof and people usually sue it to fix bathroom tiles, wood flooring and decking. Only acetone or Isopropyl alcohol can remove it.

When the company heard what Madam Brown went through, they sent her message via Twitter, saying they feel sorry to hear what happened to her.

On Saturday, Brown with the Instagram name, @im_d_ollady posted a photo to update her followers on the platform.

She shared the photos of when she went to St. Bernard Parish Hospital n Chalmette, Louisiana in order to remove the product.

Sunday Igboho and Fulani Quit Notice are currently causing serious trouble in the Yorubaland of Oyo State, south-west Nigeria.



Violence erupted in Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State after the Yoruba freedom fighter and activist, Sunday Igboho and his supporters invaded the Fulani Settlement.

Federal Government has announced January 19 as the deadline for Nigerians who already have National Identification Number (NIN) to link their SIM with it.

For mobile subscribers who have not registered for National Identification Number, the deadline to update their SIM with National Identification Number (NIN) is February 9.

As the deadline is fast approaching, see ways to know if you have successfully linked your NIN to your SIM.

To know if you have linked your National Identification Number to your MTN line
For MTN Users, kindly dial *785#

After dialling the USSD code, it will be prompted to enter your NIN.

Once you have finished entering your 11 digit number (NIN), an SMS will be sent to you, saying “Successfully” received your National Identification Number.



Note that it’s the National Identity Management Commission that will verify the National Identification Number that you submitted to your network.



To know if you have linked your National Identification Number to your Glo line
For Glo users, You dial *109# and you will be asked to input your 11 digit NIN number and after that, a message will be sent to your saying “Successful”.

Alternatively, You can also update your NIN via text message to 109 and they will reply you back whether the submission is successful or not.


In case you are not sure, you are free to try this process more than one time.

To know if you have linked your NIN to your 9mobile line
Kindly dial *200*8#

It will bring two options saying whether you want to verify your National Identification Number to your 9mobile SIM or you just want to link it.

Press 1 and send to verify.

After some times, you will get a message showing whether the linking is successful or not.

To know if you have linked your National Identification Number to your Airtel line

To link your Airtel line to your NIN, dial *121*1#.

A successful message will be sent to your line after entering your 11 digits NIN.

If you don’t get this message, it’s possible to retry it until you see the message showing that you have successfully submitted your National Identification Number to update your Airtel SIM.

According to what we heard, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) will be the one to verify all the updates and your network provider will later send you a message once the update has been completed.

Ebizi Blessing Eradiri [Face of Bayelsa Girl Child]: Who is She?

Ebizi Blessing Eradiri is the fourth person and first female to get a first-class honour in Niger Delta University, Amassoma and she is also the first person to get first-class honours in Nigerian Law School from her University.




The 24-year-old is also a computer forensic examiner and at the moment, she is currently practising law in Lagos.

Ebizi Blessing Eradiri hails from Agudama-Ekpetiama community in Yenagoa local government of Bayelsa State.

But She grew up in Port Harcourt and according to what we heard, she is the only daughter and second child of her parents.

In an interview with BBC, Ebizi said the day that she will never forget in her life was when they told her that she is a first-class honour in law school and she started shedding tears of joy because she didn’t believe that at first.

She also said that the good news was announced to her while she was still in NYSC Camp and this means her dreams are coming through because she has been working hard to bag the first-class honour.

“Charlie, Charlie, are you there? This is the newest and trending challenge that is currently making rounds on social media.



Thousands of people in Nigeria have used the hashtag #CharlieCharlie in the last couple of hours while millions of people across the world have also joined the Charlie Charlie challenge.



How did This Challenge Make Waves in Nigeria?

It is not clear how the trending challenge entered the country but what we understand about Charlie Charlie is that it’s a kind of game that has been on since.

The game requires you to balance two pencils on top of each other, after that, you must place it on paper and write Yes or No.

Once this has been achieved, players will then ask a question which will determine the direction (Yes or No) Charlie will move the pencil.

Some Nigerians who participated in the game claimed that the charlie charlie is demonic.


What Is Charlie Charlie?

Charlie Charlie is a kind of Ouija board game where players write “Yes and No” on a paper after two pencils have been placed on each other or crossed together on the paper.

The player will divide one piece of paper into four quadrants and then indicate each side with either “Yes” or “No”.

After that, one pencil will be placed on one line and another pencil will be placed on top of the other pencil and Player must now say “Charlie, Charlie, are you there ?” if Charlie gives “answer”, the pencil that is on top will move to one of the answers. This looks like a compass in a mathematical set.

You can now begin to ask Charlie any other questions for example, “Charlie, I will pass my exam?” or “Charlie, I need money?” and so on.

Origin of the Game
Multiple information gathered from several tweets and reports revealed that the game is originated from Mexico.

This may be true because a well known Mexican beer brand in Spanish wrote “Yes” and “No” on the body.

Unconfirmed reports also revealed that the trending challenge game is as a result of a late Mexican child whose name is also Charlie while others claimed that it’s a Mexican demon or pagan god.

Despite these claims, many people still believe that Charlie is a ghost or spirit from the pit of hell who can answer questions about whether your lover likes you or not.

Reacting to the claims, BBC Mundo correspondent, Maria Elena Navez disclosed that there is no demon who bears Charlie in Mexico.

She also described the challenge game as a traditional Mexican way to call people who have been dead and it’s just another way to hype it and make a strange sound.

The National Identification Number (NIN) is what the Federal Government said they use to establish the identity of every Nigeria.




As a matter of fact, All citizens and legal residents in Nigeria starting from age zero (birth) and above are advised to register for their NIN.

It is very important for every Nigerian to get it because according to the Nigerian government, National identification number is what they use to tie together all the records about individuals in the country.

This includes the demographic data, fingerprints, head-to-shoulder facial photo, biometric data and digital signature for the National Identity Database that make it easy to confirm and verify someone’s identity.

You would have heard that the Nigerian communications commission on December 2020 make it compulsory for every Sim users to update their record using the NIN.

They even issued a two-week deadline to disconnect any Sim user who will not follow the directive.

Apart from the SIM registration, What do Nigerians need NIN for?
They can use NIN to gain access to many services from Government Social services, Voters Card Registration, Issuance and renewal of International Passport, Bank Account Opening and Reactivations to consular services for Nigerian Embassies and Mission abroad and others.



How does it work?
Bank Account opening: If you visit any Nigerian bank to open a new account, you will be asked to tender your NIN.

If you don’t provide your NIN to the Nigerian bank of your choice then the account won’t be opened for you.

Even if you want to reactivate your account, you still need to provide your NIN.
