Reference: I know democracy is relatively new in Nigeria so some pardonable gaffes but pally, if the PDP put Nigeria on a sustainable path there will have been no need to change them. People don't vote for fun. They vote to promote their interests. That is why many can't understand the complaint by the APC about the bad precedence.
If my torchlight is dim or my car loses its reliability. I change it and I expect to get a better one and not being called a tortoise by my salesman. The same argument was made by the PDP, that we should be patient. We said no. We want change. If the APC had said, look folks, we will take 4, 8, 12, infact 16 years like the PDP had, will they have won? Get ready for power since you have the quick fixes at your finger tips. Nigerians demand strong institutions but they are impatient and unwilling to play a part, all they want is miracles. PMB & APC are on the right path to turn around, democracy has got plenty of limitations particularly for climes like ours where citizens choose to play politics over every national issue. Be reminded also that elections are where ideas are canvassed, unfirtunately PDP brought nothing to the table and so resorted to shameless propaganda which totally watered down the campaigns to pedestrian levels. Did the PDP even promise anything in rhe course of the campaigns, I doubt. In a political environment there is nothing like a party asking for 8,12 or 16years, what's important is to have a sustainable national plan of which the nation had been found wanting through the decades. The people must be able to vote in/vote out the party of their choice every 4years. Success in any venture is not achieved overnight, it's not any difference with governance.
Mark you. It wasn't a landslide victory. It was 55:45 at the end. What tipped it in favour many argue was the 'military badge' Buhari wore. That he could get things done sharp sharp, aka hit the ground running. Which one be tortoise talk now. Salesman show me the goods. Time for talk is over. |

From one of the universities, 8 billion naira was mopped up from their system in the name of TSA last year if you want to hear about cash in flow...This is a university that had positive personnel cost balance before May 29. That amount was always returned by the bursar through the financial system introduced by NOI not ippis... The universities have wage bills for ASUU, SSANU & NASU members, let them sort their issues with the federal ministry of education. This is the era of probity & accountability. Each university must justify its wage bill before funds are released into their private accounts on a monthly basis for salaries and other sundry expenses. The era of manipulating and misappropriating funds through connivance with several bank officials is way behind. |

The last 6years of the PDP regime saw unprecedented levels of stealing, corruption and several cases of maladministration. The scandals and sleazes are still fresh in our memory. The PDP establishment can only bark because when it mattered they failed Nigerians and brought the nation to its knees. Accountability, probity and transparency was never their watchword. God bless the writer, that's a word in season. For those saying APC promised this and that, the writer was unambiguous, you don't assess a government fully until it has exhausted its term of office. The perception that this government will ultimately succeed is clear to the WISE & DISCERNING. Even if you have issues with the promises made by the party in campaigning, ask yourself if the PDP ever promised Nigerians anything about good governance in 16years. Nigeria made history by having an opposition party defeat roundly the then ruling party who had very little to show in 16years of the 4th republic. They are the opposition today but their records of service are quite appalling and so they have absolutely nothing to offer in terms of constructive opposition. Nigeria will survive all their antics and negative wishes from their army of online commentators. The CHANGE begins with everyone of us. |

-Lord The information available to Nigerians was that the GENCOs & DISCOs were totally privatised. The privatisation was done over several months in 2013 and so you are getting your facts enrirely wrong. The government did not privatise TRANSMISSION but sold the entirety of the Generating companies & Distribution companies, that was not done in secrecy and the technical panel was chaired by Atedo Peterside. Jor shift. People dey discuss power problem, you carry yourself kon sitdon for thread.

It's crystal clear now that Nigeria has a long way to go. The CBN as an establishment has been found wanting but instead of addressing the issues so as to forestall a recurrence in the future the argument takes a political dimension and the vicious cycle goes on and on. I'm hoping that the youths who have clamoured to be tested with the leadership at the highest level are busy developing their magic wands that they will use to turn around the fortunes of Nigeria in a very short time. Except there are compelling reasons to adduce that the PDP-led executive who held sway (at the period in question) were complicit in this CBN "secret recruitment scandal" let the CBN as an institution established by an act of parliament carry it's cross. It's absolutely foolhardy to try to bring the Buhari-led administration into the picture, that's the height of ignorance. It must also be said that the legislature and the generality of the Nigerian populace realise also their role in sanitising the polity and society at large. The president can't/won't do everything. The CHANGE that we all desire truly begins with everyone of us. GOD BLESS NIGERIA |
