kai! today has been 1 helluva day....

my dd fell off the bed where i dropped her to mix palm oil +sugar for her cough. she cried for like 2 mins and stopped, but i have never seen her cry that way b4. everything just happened in a flash... i started crying with her.
Dh heard her crying and rushed in to the room, i couldn't even lie about what happened. Since then he has been giving me 'that look' (now i wish i lied to him about what happened). My LO is fine , she is playing with her papa and cruising away in her walker now, but I just throw some glances her way from time to time.
gosh! how did i get carried away

I am stressed.....taking care of my dd and managing my home all by myself isn't an easy task. Some nights I just breakdown and cry (I don't think I am depressed, sometimes it's just hard to deal). I am even beginning to analyse 2nd missionary journey and telling myself that adding 1 more baby to the mix will just 'kee' me finally.

my weight gives me concern too, my belle no just gree go inside.....i don tire to dey wear girdles and all what not.. I googled how to check for diastatis recti and checked my abdomen, and I felt a space.
hmmmm..........na me kuku go find 'googoo' trouble

what else sef?!! I need an extra income source.....salary nor de reach anything again o!

My sister from anothe mother please don't be hard on yourself Biko. All these our husband sometimes they don't understand what we go through mentally and physically sef. I always tell my husband " Babe, I ain't a superwoman oh" Fir baby falling, my DD rolled from inside carried bed to floor while I was cooking though no wound but I was worried too. Like other mama mentioned, it's part of their growing we just have to be more careful.

Most of the time I tell my husband that, hope he know that I am more powerful than him.... He will just say YES BABY I KNOW OHHHH!!! TRuth be told some of them know that they can't do 20% of what we do but they just don't want to take it.

See, I live alone in another country due to my work, come to Nigeria once in a while.... I do all the work alone, bath, mop, wash, cook e.t.c even when my sister was staying with me I made sure I did all by myself now that am alone I am used to it.
For the spending, budget, budget, budget and have a scale of preference of what you highly need. That's what I do( I don't go into mall and pick what I don't need) InfAct I buy from the cheapest mall with card sef and local market too.

May the lord help and protect our little ones. God give us strength as mum too. Please don't cry although I do cry too once a while when I am overwhelmed with work but I let it pass. May the lord grant us more power

Please sir her straight upright when you are feeding her. And burp her after every feeding. Make sure she belch during the burp. Am sure she will be alright.

For Nuttymeal and mixagrain,

Boil a little water,
Dissolve 1 and half tablespoon of any of the 2 (either Nuttymeal or mixagrain) in cold water (like u do when making semo).
While the water is boiling, I add small coconut oil or olive oil and little crayfish to it.
When it's boiled, I pour in the dissolved mixture and stir to avoid lumps.
Cover and cook for another 5 mins.
Serve with baby milk or breastmilk.

I like to make it a bit thick so that by the time I add milk, it doesn't end up so watery cos I mix the milk in water b4 adding to the food.

For veggie beans, I haven't tried it yet. Wanna start when she is 8 months.

This is how I mix mine too but I noticed at the end of the day it always have lumps. So I just dissolve it into water straight then put on fire to cook directly by stirring it directly and add crayfish or fish when it's almost done.
I am thinking to start veggie beans from 7 months.@ambient. You can used any of the method from me or enque. It will surely work

Akorkor... vomiting is actually a sign of faulty feeding... either baby was overfed, improperly positioned while feeding,not allowing baby to blow wind after feeding and many more...
my son also use to finished his big flask of pap from 8 to 5pm.. of which he rarely finishes it within 24hrs at home

Hehehehehehehe our nanny is doing wonders. I told them they should always bump her when she finish eating and I also told them that if she's filled up they shouldn't bother about giving her more. God protect our LOs

2 things triggers my dd's vomitting....if she doesn't sit up or rest after eating, and if you try to carry her immediately after eating. So we leave her sitting for like 20-30 mins after meal before anyone tries to carry her.

You know what quantity of food your baby eats on a good day, so pack what you are sure that she can finish. She just started solids na, so take it easy...one day at a time. All that food plus tom brown again?? Haba na! I think its a bit much...except maybe she won't eat dinner when u guys get home.

how long does she stay at the creche??

from 8am-5am.(I check her up 12pm-2pm) Most times she only sucks when she get home in the evening and middle of the night.
Dont mind them jor, they are looking for who dey wan kill.... IT IS WELL JARE

. Perhaps they are feeding too soon and discarding remnant. If you are uncomfortable change creche. My point was coming from the view that if your concern is food management; it can be controlled by stating "feed my child with 180 mls every 3 hours" Trust me, your situation is better than some. My niece was being given sleeping drugs till she became unconcious so as i said it can be managed

Seriously, this issue of a creche made me come out. I went to check my DD at creche today and unfortunately she vomited twice, first time was when i was about carrying her, she vomited her banana puree, the second time i wanted to feed her breast milk, i noticed she dint want to suck; thank God i didn't put nipple in her mouth, she just vomited "Big time" the second time the sweet potato puree i told them to give her. From just two days i started creche with my baby, i noticed her tummy is always full, its like they love packing food for their Tommy.

This morning, her teacher was telling me i should be putting more food for her after i put Banana puree for fruit, sweet potato mixed with crayfish and 12 ounce breast milk with formula oooo. She said i may be adding Tom Brown and i was like (Seriously for a six month baby?) She doesn't eat much like that now. I have never seen my baby vomiting so much like these. Am so worried? @enque, feddy27.

For the mixagrain and Nuttymeal, I make it from home,
put in small food flask and I feed her in the morning at the creche b4 I leave to my office or we take it at nights for dinner
I prefer the texture when it when it is warm and fresh from the pot.
That's how we like it

It's better u open an insurance package for your child. I use 1st bank for my Children. Just browse or u walk to the nearest 1st bank branch to ask further questions about their insurance packages for children.

Talking about insurance package, i need more information about it. That's if DH will agree anyways. Like how much will be be putting in a year? And is it education or life insurance? What type of insurance is it? I don't get it. I know for my car is yearly but bank?

Mamas looking for bank you can consider mutual funds for your child. The money works and interest is better than any savings account. The one I opened is with Stanbic but some other banks have investment arms that provide the same service

The idea is, they invest your little money with all the other money in the fund on stuff that your money alone cannot carry (treasury bills, fixed deposits etc) and give you interest on a daily basis (the one I'm running currently gives me 18% averagely)
