Thank you

I fee things are about to slow down now. 108 degree weather yesterday and predicted to be over 100 again today.

🥵
Oh. Most will still survive. I lost 80% of my plants to negligence. I travelled, my neighbors/compound security didn’t help with watering them. All they did was to harvest my super hot habanero fruits.

I will revive them all though. Your turnip looks like radish; I guess it takes a month to harvest

Life gave me lemon, I made both lemonade and lemon cake.

Recipe for Lemonade
* Fresh lemon juice - 1 cup
* Water - 4 1/2 cups
* Sugar - 1 cup
* Fresh ginger - 1 stump, washed & sliced
* Whole cloves - 6
* Lemon grass - 5 leaves
* Cinnamon stick - 1/2 teaspoon
Boil (simmer) the sugar, cloves, cinnamon, lemon grass, ginger and water for about 8 minutes.
Turn off the heat, add in the lemon juice, cover and allow to infuse. Sieve, bottle, drink/refrigerate.

Happy new month

Food lovers.
Please someone should reach out to that Lady from Ekiti who has started a challenge to break Hilda baci's record, that she can't contest to break a Guinness world record till after a year.

Someone should tell her and her team to stop wasting their time, energy and resources all for nothing.
She is not wasting her time and energy, whether she is doing it for GWR or Publicity, that is her business.

Everyone deserves a shot at success. She doesn’t owe Hilda or Nigerians an apology. GWR or Success is not Hilda’s birthright. I’m happy the Ekiti First Lady and other good Nigerians are recognizing her efforts already.

You guys should stop bringing people down with your words and actions. Allow the lady be, please

It is not that hard. It didn’t take up to 15mins to wash the beans. I soaked in semi hot water for 20mins and washed…

Akposy please give me ur asun recipe . I’m thinking of cooking Asaro( Yam pottage) and asun for some guests I will be receiving next week
For the goat meat, I washed and marinated with;
Salt
Seasoning cube
Fresh thyme
Rosemary
Basil
Ginger
Garlic
Onion
Curry
Habanero (hot pepper, fresh)
Lemon juice, optional

I mix in the above spices into the washed meat and allow it sit for about 1hour. I proceed to steam the meat of low heat for about 20mins or so. I added more water (not too much) and boil at medium high heat.

When cooked (soft), I fried in hot groundnut oil.

For the pepper sauce, I used;
Hot pepper
Onion
Garlic
Tatashe or shombo.
Blend the above together, roughly. I had more onions I sliced.

Fry the sliced onion in hot oil. Add in the pepper mix and fry till it is well cooked. Add in your spices; Maggie, curry, thyme, etc.
Finally, add in the fried goat meat and mix together on low heat.

1stGenAmerican:
Your harvest looks so vibrant and luscious—you must have excellent soil! Will you preserve any into a pepper mash or sauce?
Thank you. I made my soil mix myself since I grow in containers (cinder blocks, clay pots, wooden boxes, poly {grow} bags). My soil mix is made up of compost, Cocopeat, sandy loam soil and animal manure.

I tried making pepper sauce with a recipe I saw online. It went well but the smell/taste of vinegar in it spoilt it for me. I will look for a recipe without vinegar

I’m positive they do!
Cococandy, look at these. I just harvested a big basket of red and ripe cherry tomatoes and these are on deck already! These were all grown from the seeds of cherry tomatoes that I ate. Gardening is so rewarding.
Gardening is simply therapeutic. Your cherries look good.

I’ve being harvesting habanero nonstop from my container garden. I’m tired of them; I’ve been giving them out because they are too much and also very hot so I can’t use more than 2 (few times, 3) to cook.

Here’s a picture from my last harvest. The others are grape tomatoes (a sweet cherry variety) and 1 strawberry

My pancakes are always too flat like crepes how do I make them thick and fluffy?
Beat enough air into it.

This can be achieved by whipping the eggs used to soft or stiff peak
