Those good old days when l was a man of ( timber and caliber) the oldies amongst us will remember who coined these words in bracket l used to buy films that these two appeared. These days of dry season l confined myself to watching star times airing them occasionally. |
The unfolding story of how the president was not in Japan to the Nigerian president would be prevented from leaving Japan will give you an insight into how the supporters of our radical religious outfits think and reason. |
Kodus to the governor and his administration. Those who are the helm of affairs today should know that tomorrow they also will become pensioners. Always realize that a vibrant worker of yester years are now the so called pensioners. These categories of workers now pensioners contributed in no small measure to the administration of the young state then. It's time to relax and enjoy the fruits of their labour and any reasonable administrator ought to honor them not despise. Some states in the federation have taken the welfare of its pensioners with utmost consideration such states receive our Kodus too. |
Detention even if you are being offered the best treatment possible is still far short of freedom. But just look at it, our leaders are more or less in detention since they also can't move about freely just like any other citizens. Suffice it to say that being religious leader no matter how outrageous it seems, is a paying job especially if you are able to garner supporters who are ready to lay down their lives. I always believe that any religion that encourages it's believers to kill a fellow human with the knowledge that you will be rewarded by supreme being for doing just that needs rethinking. Anyway, how do we know that what one is doing is right, the answer is when we are dead and the beauty of it all is that no body comes back from death. However, l do know that a human being knows exactly whether what he or she is doing is either right or wrong discounting of course brainwashed religious fanatics. |
We will continue changing the constitution almost every year given the Nigeria factor. Someone will come up after the change and tells you 'the constitution as it is now does not reflect the aspirations of Nigeria ' A clear example is the Nigeria police. We are now clamouring for state police forgetting the fact which is still prevailing if you take state electoral commission into consideration why regional police as at then had to be abolished. At times we hear people telling you 'true federalism' forgetting what constitutes Nigeria. |
One is short of words in this circumstance. There was loss of lives. This loss of lives came about by the strict trainings of a military officer to obey commands from their commander. If a solider has to chose which order to obey and which not, then certainly orders from commanders may not be obeyed triggering chaos. We have laws and lawyers to straighten this out. On the other hand, lives of patriotic police officers were wasted by orders that were obeyed. Sincere investigations will tell us whether these orders were carried out without an ulterior motives. May the lives of these patriotic police officers rest in perfect peace. |
The reasons for all these delays are not far fetched. The governments from federal, states and local are just not ready to implement what seemed to be a decision taken by force asides from the ability especially from some of the states to implement. |
As regards the ministers going through his aides though the ministers themselves are also aides shows that those aides are superior to the constitutional provisions that mandated their appointments. Lest we forget, in any case they are NOISE MAKERS |
Anyone in the security branches of our great country under arms deserves our respect. It's not easy to face death willing. What matters at the moment is to make sure that there's no cover up. While it's true that most of us forget events easily just like children, however, amongst us also are those that have good memory but then, such a person cannot do anything when he/she found out that circumstances have invariably joined them together - lost memory |
Most Nigerians abroad are educated to say the least. It's the freedom enjoyed by Nigerians abroad that they are abusing. Those countries with freedom of almost everything you can think of did not attack their citizens in foreign lands, rather they fought their freedom within their boundaries. Beating our citizens in foreign lands only protray us as uncivilized and l know that those who partake in this sordid affairs are civilized people. Do we want to drag our hard earned name into mud. Certainly we don't. I am saying this irrespective of whatever tribe you came from in Nigeria. |
Almost all drugs now have for one reason or the other deemed to be harmful to human beings. Just as we are doing with electronics so also drugs. Old and new models. One way or the other, it seems we lose. |
Embarrassing behavior from that girl |
Simply because you shaved your armpits hair, you believe that those who did not shave theirs are dirty. I don't use vulgar language but I would like you to think deeply before generalizing this your comment. |
I am still trying to check the word REVOLUTION. IT sounds radical. |
While it's true that we are dealing with insurgency with various nomenclatures, will that cow us to allow lawlessness in our society. If the federal government of Nigeria can be frightened with these insurgencices then sorry to the country. The government should follow the law and the citizens shall follow suit. No individual or organization should be allowed to either by religion or sheer brutal force to bring the country to its knees. |
One is feel with sense of no direction considering the situation on the ground now. However, I wish the 9th assembly all the best |
If this news is true, it points out the fact that politicians believe that people are easy to manipulate according to their own perception. |
Congratulations to the new appointees. Wishing them all the best |
I just believe that the north needs to free itself from self imposed outdated ideas which is tied to religion while using modern technology at the same time to entertain people. If we're tied to religious based idea just like Saudi that won't allow women to drive a car until recently, then we have a long way to go . |
The tragedy that befell the man should not be reduced to whether he is capable of maintaining the wives and children but the gravity of the offence committed. Assume he has thirty (30)children what matters most is the ability to take care of his responsibility. He may be a teacher, but what about if he has other business that supported his 'recklessness ' Meanwhile, it seems wives are getting bolder nowadays. |
Amazing. Just two (2) civil MASTERS not servants. |
I alwayst think on who invented folk tales. As children then, we almost believe all been said about tortoise or hare's wiseness or cunny nature. The reality is that at least we can see these two and arrived at our own conclusions |
Again the game. Finding excuses. There are one thousand and one excuses to do or not to do something. The spectators biased or unbiased will come to their own conclusions |
Let's the fighting of corruption be all inclusive and seen to be all inclusive. The reason why there must be judiciary free from intimidation is due to the fact that, the accuser should not be the judge for heaven's sake. During the days of our forefathers, there are people 's court manned by selected wise men to adjudicate . If the judiciary is free, justice will be dispensed to all and sundries irrespective of who is in power. Power in any case is transient. |
What! 15m per month. hmm. Maybe it's a mistake, he meant per year. But come again. One incumbent senator then did talk of this . Truly it's per month not per year I am just confused. In totality, just like our elections; it is INCONCLUSIVE |
Can this be true statement. If it is, then those thinking for the party need sound knowledge |
Let's try to reason deeply. There are rules and regulations. I would have expect us to show our youths the penchant to observe rules. What about if our dear prof sat on his seat and calmly asked the youth for swapping of seats. |
Turn that MASSIVE around and then EXAGGERATE. Match them and let me know whether the VP was quoted out of context |
Yep, no electoral process is perfect , but then are we to continue in this manner with the banner of imperfections. Invariably we are now in the midst of excuses while the suffering contiues politically, socially ,economically etc |
There's no sense of urgency. From the looks of things, it seems our 9th assembly will get their instructions and advice not from our constitution, but from party offices. We are good at referring to the past. What we fail to understand is that a national party has no godfathers. Those at the helm of affairs then have no obligation to any godfather. Lessons could be learned from how interference from party offices hindered selections leading to elections and the catastrophic out come. Suffice it to say that this phenomenon spread across party lines but among the ugly, there's the ugliest. Hope our thinking should be proved to be shallow as we forge ahead. |
If this how Nigeria is to be run then we are in serious problem. Imagine what is been vomitted by a law professor simply because he is in the government of the day |
