The company had said that the new move was part of its growth strategy which would enable it pursue its diversification project into other financial services. The approval, which was part of the major resolutions at the company's 37th Annual General Meeting, held in Lagos, included the resolution to increase the authorized share capital from N4 billion to N5 billion by the creation of two billion ordinary shares of 50 kobo each raking with existing shares of the company. Shareholders also gave them the nod to issue by way of public offer for subscription and or right issue at a date and upon terms and conditions to be determined by the directors as well as to merge with or acquire the shares, assets, liabilities and undertakings of any financial services company or allied businesses subject to such terms and conditions as may be determined by the board |
yeah, heard the gist about the new plant etc but shouldn't they be seen to be returning to some sort of profitability first before we jump in (assuming one does jump in)? they've been dismal in the last 3 yrs and reported losses up till 2005. but i'm still sceptical though on the back of 2-3yrs straight of losses definitely one to watch i guess will probably wait for FY results roughcut, any gist on ikejahotels then? easimoni, what say u? |
@ roughcut i've heard so much about this P.O i'm beginning to wonder if its not a red herring u know the rumors sure are helping the share price though. Any reason i should be looking at ikeja hotels and dunlop roughcut, any news/gist what say u? |
guys guys guys wema is great but the horse has bolted and for those of us who were on it when it did, enjoy the ride to pumping, easimoni, roughcut et al, been looking at dunlop , stock price in free fall since the highs recorded in post tech susp. bull run. Are they a turnaround, or is there something i'm missing about them? what gives? by the way, looking at DUNLOP over the last 9 months following bull run (post tech suspension for offer in oct 2006) its been in free fall mode since the high in feb 07 where there's smoke there's fire? is there any news out there to suggest otherwise, anyone? pls enlighten a brother |
@ roughcut yeah i saw their results and they were disappointing i'm not buying them yet but theyt are one to watch they've been good the last 5yrs or and can be forgiven for a bad quarter. the worry is if the trend continues into full year results my bubble remains intact or have i misunderstood, were u talking about wema? |
hey fellas, anyone watching WEMA? i can't stop smiling really Nig stock market never ceases to amaze me here is a company that only a few days aago released results for the first time in 2-3yrs and its just stepping higher and higher wonder when this suspect ipo is coming out sef na wa 0!! ![]() |
rumors are rife about a P.O coming soon but no certainties. they released interesting results recently the fear is that they are pushing up their share price so as to offer the p.o at a high enough price no idea when the T.S will begin but guesses for last week have so far been proven false they will probably wait till fcmb, zenith finish their P.Os |
@tonyjon why do u think bedrock is a good fund? i hope u don't mind my asking |
hello people . Gurus, et al, I HAIL i'm wondering why people like DINLOP so much all of a sudden, am i missing out on something? fidelity seems to be a loooooonnggggg term thing so if u are the patient type go for it but based on their own prospectus i would say they are a cautious buy if at all. having said that i have asked for a small number of units frm my broker cuz of the risk proj eps -0.24 proj pe- 50.82!!!!!!! current eps for 9mths 2007 -0.21 pe ratio based on offer price for 9mths 2007 38.61 fooooooddddd for thought aint'it! now looking at these figures just sent an e-mail to my broker to ask if i haven't been foolish buying this instead of FCMB |
qiute right H-town. LASACO is a medium to long term gig so for the peeps who own it, hang in there i alredy own 40 big ones of crusader and if i look at its daily gyrations since i bought it i would have hurt someone by now, but i know it will go up basd on their fundamentals which look quite good. so ride out the waves and u'll be alright |

thanks roughcut yeah, they have recently done a 1:1 share reconstuction and are now trading just over 8 naira recently posted a pat \for year ending april 2007 and is on my stock watchlist may be worth buying into it noe even or what do you think seems like they've managed to increase profits steadily over the years it is a seriously overlooked stock i think cuz it is traded in the 2nd tier market see this report man: For investors and shareholders of Cutix Nigeria plc, the sterling performance of the company's shares at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) in recent times has been deligh. Ever since the company declared one for one bonus and 12 kobo dividend, its share price has rallied to a high of N22.91 kobo per share as at Thursday September 13, 2007, as more investors seek to be part owners of the Nnewi based Cable Company. The story of Cutix Nigeria plc is an example of how an indigenous company can grow if given the right incentive and environment to operate. Faced with a lot of difficulties in its area of business, Cutix Nigeria rose above all odds and posted an outstanding performance for its financial year ended April 30, 2007 to the admiration of investors and stakeholders. To celebrate its arrival the company magnanimously declared one for one bonus alongside 12 kobo dividend for its financial year ended April 30, 2007. Cutix in its recent financial year recorded profit after tax of N121.7-million representing 124 percent rise when compared with N54.32-million recorded in the same period of 2006. Also during the period, turnover rose to N1.1-billion as against N714.2-million recorded in the comparable period of 2006. For investors who don't know the price history of Cutix, the company is quoted in the second tier sub-sector of the equities market of the NSE; it has been the most active in the stagnant sub-sector. Its share price has grown by over 538 percent from a low of N3.42 kobo per share to a high of N21.82 kobo per share between January and September 2007. Apart from that, shareholders of the company have been made to enjoy steady income through cash dividend payout. In the past five year the company has not failed to pay dividend to shareholders as at when due. In 2006, it paid 10 kobo dividend from earnings per share of 40 kobo, in 2005, it paid shareholders 10 kobo dividend from earnings per share of 18 kobo. In 2004, Cutix paid shareholder 10 kobo dividend from earnings per share of 20 kobo, while in 2003, a dividend of 10 kobo was also paid from earnings per share of 17 kobo. Cutix Nigeria plc manufactures electrical cables, and was incorporated in 1982 and listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on August 12, 1987 |
