If they were using trailer batteries like itel sometimes does no one would be able to compete. I use Samsung and they've managed to take away some specs over the years sef.
You're not expected to get every new iPhone every year or even Samsung. You wait 2-5 year when the incremental updates add up to a lot before upgrading. Smartphones have basically peaked.
