The partisanship of nairaland came rather not as a surprise but as someone who believes in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I had always maintained that nairaland is a national asset rather than just a tribalistic forum.

The attacks on the Igbos and the silencing of our voice especially here on nairaland was another pointer on how dangerous the Nigerian system and and everything controlled by a particular set of people respond. The last few months to the general election have been characterized by systematic attacks on the Igbos across western Nigeria and western Nigeria platforms.

It goes deep to show that the mantra is that not only Lagos is Yorubaland but nairaland and all the other things that the Yorubas have closer proximity to. The seed of discord have been planted and it is going to take a lot before Nigeria nor the relationship between the Igbos and Yorubas would come back to normal or I would rather say that we have gotten ourselves a new normal.

I have never for once though that in my young political career that I will look for alternative for nairaland but as has shown, our intellectual and other forms of investment is not safe in Yoruba platforms, that lots of people where injured or even slain in the dirty show of shame that we all witnessed, and it is time everyone begin to build things and most likely everyone should also think home and it will start from this very nairaland where we can think about our alternative, This too is Yorubaland and not nairaland nor no man’s land.
