There is no battle - we want to set a tutorial section where people can learn php that's all. |
Good post ramono, well said. 7. Pres Sirleaf, being a novice in Interantional politics, realizes the dangers of Taylor's return to Liberia and asks Nigeria to hand Taylor over to the Special Court. She is not a novice, she's been in the game a long time even during the 80s when Doe was in power. Like you rightly said, the US told her to request for Taylor but he should be sent to Sierra-Leone instead of Liberia. |
ok I will. I will start tonight, thanks for supporting. |
check your email, sent you my details |
Look at this, Yankee even wants to cancel the meeting with OBJ on Taylor issue http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4855300.stm |
If you code in C, PHP is just like C, it's a loosely typed language but when you get into the gig you will like it. Modular - yes and no, check out PHP 5 and see what it can do. Still waiting for help |
The bank is concentrating on it's local customers. We are a member of the Ghana Internet Exchange, an association that connects all ISPs in Ghana to one another, this means that any body on any ISP network in Ghana trying to get to the bank e-banking system will access it at local traffic which is extrememly fast. For security - Try hacking into the SAGE-Brick Server - if any one can get in - I personally will give that person $200, it doesn't even have a shell. The bank outsourced the development of the e-banking portal to an Indian firm, we are hosting the stuff. The SAGE server is between $3000 - $4000. The hosting is colocated and dedicated. |
Guys, I am not questioning Nigeria acting as a big brother for it's african neighbours - Nigeria has helped alot of african and non african countries. Nigeria went in to coax Taylor and brought him to Nigeria - a good example of Africa solving it's own problem. If Taylor was a regular guy that did nothing - nobody would complain, here is a man that killed his own people, helped Forah Sanko chop of people hands and limps in Sierra-Leone, stole and plunder millions of dollars from Liberia for his own selfish interest, sent thousands of Liberians, nigerians and others to their early graves. He was under the protective custody of the Nigerian government, remember when he came to Ghana in Early 2003 for a conference, he was briefly detained in Ghana on the request by the UN court in Sierra-Leone but was later freed because his boys treaten to kill innocent Ghanaians in Liberia. Nigeria messed up by allowing the man escaped, let us face it, Nigeria is to take responsibility for that. We gave him protection and he fled under our protection - This just shows that our system doesn't work, it's a pity. |
Who else is to blame - the security aparatus under the head appointed by the president. Let us say for arguement sake that he was kidnapped by some foreign secret service (Uncle TOM), if this had happen and security guards put up a fight, I would understand. But if one man just disappear like that, haba now? Wetin dey happen for Naja? |
Too bad his site was hacked, I guess his webmasters learnt their lesson the hard way. First of all, there are unix hosting plans out there that give you extra application layer filtering in addition to normal router filtering on the network layer, they usually come with an extra price tag, check them out. Secondly - If you decide to be a web host for serve your site to the public, you have to pay attention to details, you have to know what you are doing, you have to understand the fundamentals of the platform and softwares you are going to use. Security is a continious process and you have to be a step ahead of the game or you will be majorly screwed. We had a prospective client here in Ghana that wanted to run their Online-banking system and co-locate on our shared web hosting server. They were very conscious about security and as a result hired 3 indian consultants. I went into the meeting before my first class at school, a meeting I thought would have spent 30 minutes took over 3 hours just to convince these guys that we could host their web app. Trust the Indian guys (I guess they were doing their jobs), they asked all the questions in this world and I told them that nothing security wise could penetrate our web server - was I right? - yes. I did my home work and had my company buy the SAGE - BrickServer, a server that has never been broken into, check it out http://www.sage-inc.com/cgi-bin/products_bservii.php. Hacking is very possible, it takes time if you know what you are doing. |
Yes - they gain so many things 1. They joy of cracking and hacking windows 2. For others it is a means of making income by reaping where others sowed |
Nice thread, I am still command lining with java but hey - I am loving it. I have no experience with jsp but I do know it rocks. I designed the dbase structure for the one of the best GSM companies that run their SMS portal on jsp in Ghana, check it out. www.tigo.com.gh I know this girl coder that coded the whole thing in jsp - she is amazingly intelligent |
my brother Nigeria have no image in the first place so which one image is now going down?Everytime something bad happens in Nigeria, Nigeria and Nigerians loose credibility i.e religious riots, ethnic strife, rebel uprising - these are symptoms of a failing state. These were the same things that happen in Liberia before the war, by this I don't mean a war is coming to happen in Nigeria. Take for instance, here in Ghana most Ghanaians think Nigerians are con men, armed robbers and people that use juju, so they deal with you at an arms length because of the things they read on the net, personal experiences they have had or our movies they watch. Now, this doesn't make all Nigerians bad because there are honest Nigerians. Nigeria has image to me, we sent troops to Liberia during their war and saved thousands of lives, we helped South Africa during their crisis, we liaised with opposing parties during the cape verde problem. Wole Soyinka (A nigerian won the noble peace price), the first black woman to win miss world was from Nigeria and a host of other achievements. Nigeria came in as a mediator during the Liberian crisis - a deal was agreed upon so that Taylor can step down. This wasn't political asylum, that is why when he was interferring with Liberian politics, he was warned by the Nigerian government. Under political asylum, you can travel to other countries, this doesn't apply to Taylor. All this would have been prevented if Taylor wasn't informed. What so difficult if he was taken to a military facility and placed under confinement? The governement has the right to do that. |
I could start one for php but honestly - I don't have the time, php is so wide. Can you assist, I can treat certain topics and you can treat others. Any suggestions? |
Odeku, If something wrong happens in your house I will blame you. Honestly - I don't see why the media had this thing in the news in the first place. Nigeria should have detained taylor by putting him in a secluded and well guided facility even before publicly admitting that Liberia should take him. I think it is very embrassing for Nigeria at this time especially when OBJ is meeting Bush in Yankee soon. If you can't control your security forces, who then can you control? Charles Taylor in calabar, offer a security agent $100,000 dollar to stage his escape, what do you guys think will happen? 1 he will take the money and help the man escape? 2 he will turn Taylor in? I am curious to know what people think on thisAre you saying if I offer a top security officer at Aso rock $500,000 he would allow me in to harm the president?, give me a break - not all Nigerians are corrupt as you think. I am not blaming the president for this, I am saying that he should have been more scrupulous in handling this matter, evidently he hasnot, the result - the image of Nigeria going down again. |
dakmanzero, Good post. FYI - I see you really don't know much about MACs, I will suggest you visit the apple website and see what a MAC can do for you. MACs make most of our animated movies - Shrek, Finding Nemo and other block-burst hitters. Nor to mention that MAC has a BSD kernel - the options are endless. Mention some things that you think a MAC can't do - I will list endless tasks that a windows machine die under. For unix - I have always said it's a far superior OS, but I think the best OS is OS/2. |
Well - it always depends on the business case in which you are running your email server for - it is a company with a few users? or are you running a server serving over 500 active users like myself? Qmail is rock solid, secure and more stable than sendmail but you can lock sendmail down pretty well if you have the time and you are willing to learn. Qmail is designed to run in environments that have alot of users i.e gmail and yahoo runs qmail. You can try out postfix or exim or if you are not too comfortable with unix. You can use Hmail Server - it's a free windows opensource email server - I will advise you run it if your email server connects to your main pop server and pull your emails. You can run it as an external mail server but you know how windows is. I have ran it on a public IP before but I locked down the server like mad and checked it every single day - the wahala was just too much. |
onanugaola, Finally found it, just enable packet forwarding by editing your /etc/sysctl.conf file Before # Disables packet forwarding #net.ipv4.ip_forward=1 After # Enables packet forwarding net.ipv4.ip_forward=1 This will only enable it when you reboot at which time Linux will create a file in one of the subdirectories of the special RAM memory based /proc filesystem. To activate the feature immediately you have to create a single lined text file called /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward and it only contain the value "1". Here is how it's done: echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward Let me know the outcome |
yep - he is one proud nigerian, we all are my brother. |
Seun - I gave him 2 options. 1. I do it for free but you give me your word that you will credit the work to me by displaying my website link on the site you will host the page 2. I build it for you for a small fee and you use it as you like, you don't have to give me any credit or link to my site |
I don't think pojutime is serious about this script. Let someone do it for you for free and you give the person the credit, pay for it and have the code for yourself - simple matter |
shriketech, I really don't think it has to do with NATTING. Squid can handle web cams, you just have to enable the ports that web cam work on |
you are very welcome |
