Hello guys,

Is there anyone going to Concordia University of Edmonton this winter?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Alfarrouk: 1:47pm On Aug 11, 2019
Thanks

Not at all.

I haven't been asked to come and verify anything.

Obehi44:

Wow! Congratulations to you!
But wait oh, I hope they did not ask you to come verify your statement of account?
Because I don't like after meeting their requirements and being eligible I will still have to go get a ticket and password again.
And that was why I made sure to tell them at the bank that it's for Canadian embassy visa application and make sure they put all the necessary stamps.
Were ask to come verify SOA too.

Hello Fam

Approval alert. For March application, online route.

You all have been very helpful.. And success to other hopefuls.

And if anyone has any tips with regards travel arrangements, payment of fees, etc, it'd be really helpful.

Hello House,

Thank You for help so far, I'm just one step closer now.

I have been requested to submit my passport but my passport is only valid till Feb 2020.

I tried reissue or renew but it has to be valid for 6 months or less before that can happen.

School is in September. What can I do in this case? Submit the passport like that?

Thank you

Hello Boss,

I have just been called for the medicals as well.

Once that's done , what are the next steps and is the police report compulsory.
Do I get it together with the medical or do I wait for them to request for it?

Qudkom:

IOM in ikeja charge- The amount payable is 41,400 for adults 15 yrs and above, 32,700 for applicants 11 to less than 15 yrs, 28,900for applicants 5 to less than 11 yrs, 27,000 for applicants 0 to less than 5 yrs. All values are in Nigerian Naira.

Qlife- 35,000(Adults)

I did mine at Qlife family clinic. They request for your passport photograph and medical request for those that got it. After that you are called according to how you got there to pay and after that they give 3 tallies that come with different colours:
Tally A- blood test(HIV and syphilis)
Tally B- X-ray(You will enter a room and hug anxray machine to get your chest xray)
Tally C- body vitals; bp, eye sight (bring your glasses if you use one), check your height and weight.

Lastly, you will provide urine sample and see a doctor that will check your eyes, tongue and abdomen. The doctor will also ask about your medicsl history. It is advisable to get there early enough the process takes 3-5hrs. Hope this helps.

The Police clearance depends on your connection and could be anything from (3k-8k) but getting it done at the HQ in lagos shouldn't be more than 2k.

Time2win:

Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Alfarrouk: 11:00pm On May 27, 2019

Ekunsgreat:
so bro please when you deferred your admission ,did you return your 120 form to the school for new one and also did you pay for another 30k for admission fee?
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Alfarrouk: 5:01pm On May 26, 2019
i have been denied visa once and had to defer my admission. I am now reapplying, if asked by the VO, how many schools I applied to, do i respond with the number of schools i applied to the first i was denied or i can simply say just the one i had to defer my admission for?

thank You

Thank you very much

fairheart:
Make sure you have all the basic and required document with you. Sevis Fee confirmation receipt, GTB visa fee receipt, I-20 (signed and dated), appointment confirmation, DS160 confirmation, 2 passport photograph of the same you uploaded online, scholarship letter (if any), test score result printout (in case the consular wish to see, which is rare), sponsor official bank statement. That is all.

Wish you the best!

About the SOP and LOE.
Normally, the Letter of Explanation, LOE, and the Statement of Purpose, SOP, are the same thing. But for the purpose of the group, we describe LOE as a letter containing explanations that tackle all the reasons for your previous refusal. LOE should only be done if you have been refused the Canadian visa before.
SOP is the document that includes; your introduction, why you chose the course, school, Canada, how you intend to pay for your fees, your career goals and how you intend to accomplish them........
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Alfarrouk: 12:22am On Mar 17, 2019
Bro,

if you dont mind, can you send your SOP to i.alfarrouk@gmail.com

Thanks a lot

And is the LOE the same as the SOP?

7) WAEC Result
cool Highschool transcripts
9) Skill acquisition program transcript and certificate (Certificate from computer lessons I attended after highschool)
10) TOEFL report (I did this when I was applying to the US. It isn't required, I just added it for show off)
11) The data page of my profile on a Nigerian university's portal, as evidence of admission into the university.

I was a student of one of the Nigerian universities doing a diploma program. Almost two years into the program, the NUC scrapped diploma programs for universities. I was broken! So I decided to study abroad.

I applied for a visa to study in the US five times within a period of one year!
I couldn't get past the interviews cos I couldn't explain myself to the VO (kind of an introvert).
So I decided to try Canada once and if I didn't get the visa, I would give up any hope left of studying abroad. Fortunately my first application has just been approved.

I have never crossed Nigerian borders. That is, I have no travel history.

Observation:
I'm not a guru, but from my observation spending a lot of time on the US student visa thread and this Canada student visa thread;
The VOs know there is a 70% chance of we not returning to Nigeria after graduation, but they can't deny all applications based on this fact. So they want someone who shows potential of adding something positive to Canada, incase the person doesn't return to his/her country.
They key is just "self-hype". In my SOP, the way I hyped myself, you'ld think I thought Zuckerberg how to code.
(Hype yourself with sense sha)

Note: The above doesn't mean you should neglect saying you will come back to Nigeria. In my SOP, I stated some career opportunities for computer science graduates in Nigeria.

I fasted and prayed too. God did his part and I did mine. Thanks to God.

Special thanks to Frankreubben.
This guy went out of his way to teach me things I didn't know about the visa process. I too go ask am question!.. lol.... Thanks a lot brother.
Thanks to everyone who shared their profile and contributed in one way or the other to this thread.

To the hopefuls, "It shall end in praise!"

Hello,

I am new here and I have submitted my application online. I think I omitted some documents, is there an email i can forward the remaining documents too or what is the best way to go about it.

Thank You
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Alfarrouk: 9:01pm On Mar 10, 2019
Please what documents did you submit with the online application?
Fleshly:
@Jnyuwa, Boss I contacted you early August via email on how to go about my submission. But just this morning I received a PPR letter, does that mean that my visa has been approved?

@Everyone, I'm kinda scared, I submitted an online application for visa and here is my time line:

Purpose of visit: Study Permit- PhD in Engineering.
Date Submitted: 4th Sept, I did an upfront Medicals.
Biometrics: 5th Sept
Biometrics done and updated: 6th Sept.
Medicals Passed: 14th Sept.
Passport Request: 11th Oct.

I'm scared because when I go through what many people say here regarding online submission - how much time take it takes, tbh, I was expecting my PPR in December and that's why I want to know the meaning of this PPR.

Lastly, when I checked my profile it's still on background check and they've not updated it. Please I'm kinda confused.
