ogugua88: I stayed in the SW region for nearly a month during my last visit and experienced absolutely no hostility.

Even if one person abused me, be it verbally or physically, that wouldn't have been enough for me to write off an entire tribe. Tribal bigotry can never be tolerated or understood by me and it's certainly not something my children will ever learn.

I've experienced more intolerance or prejudice from whites (and it's nothing compared to blacks/Africans living in say Texas or Mississippi) and I've never had anything against them. There's no way I'd discriminate against my own countrymen or countrywomen. Tolerating and/or encouraging such is only another step towards regression.

A young bride visiting her inlaws usually doesn't experience hostility. I have also stayed years in Lagos and everybody respected themselves. However that's not the point. The thing is try and do something over there like join a govt department or start a local association or something, you will soon be reminded that you are tolerated and that one nigeria is just a tool for resource exploitation.
