Please i need a little clarification about the POF.
1. Is it compulsory to present a six months statement.
2. What if your statement doesn't show your salary been paid For example, your company do not pay your salary into your account.
3.i intend selling a property and fixing the money from now till I'm ready to leave .Which is about 80% of the required POF. And a gift deed of 20% from my parents. Is that sufficient enough?

Please I need help cause I should be entering the pool next month and want to be sure I am on track. Thanks
Q1&2: Bank statement is not even a requirement. People usually add it because their banks don't provide the required bank letter in CIC format. Several applicants have received PPR without a single statement. I guess it just depends on individual circunstances.

Q3: You are in order.

@threadstone, but what if there are years in-between the applicant's NYSC service year(2011 to 2012) and when the applicant started this job with 2years work experience(2015 till date), is it still possible to claim for nysc period in a situation like that?
Yelz sir! The gap doesn't matter since at least a year was completed on each occassion. It wld have been an issue if the gap was in-between a 1 year work period.

Exactly my question, My Nysc was in a local government, I have one year experience as a telemarketter for an outsourcing firm( telecommunication), and 2 years as a marketter for a financial institute. Different NOC's, kindly advice what I can do to get my 3 years experience. please ans me oh
Different NOCs don't matter as long as they fall under clasees 0,A or B. Check your job duties and see which combination of jobs gives you up to 3 years bearing in mind the ease/difficulty in obtaining reference letters for the ones chosen.

Hello house, am a newbie on the thread but I have been reading from the previous thread...great work been done here. Please I need advice on who will be the principal applicant between my husband and I. Lest I forget, we are in the process of getting IELTS and ECA done.
Husband's profile: Lawyer with about 6 years experience post Law school, LL.B, 34 years
Wife's: civil servant (tourism officer), 28years, MSc in tourism. Runs a travel and tourism biz (tho its a Ltd). I was running the biz full time (the same year) before the civil service job came through (so biz is now part time).

1. Wife seems to be the better applicant but the issues are: I can't seem to find the civil service job in the NOC.
2. If to use the tourism biz to apply (tho it was registered in 2014), what docs will be presented bearing in mind who will write my reference letter, would I attach payslips (u know biz where income isn't fixed, how do I sort this), my CAC documents are complete but what else.
Please gurus in the house, help me analyse my concerns to make an informed decision. Sorry for the long write up pls.
It may boil down to who has the better ielts score. From what you stated, either of you can be PA successfully since you both have Masters/Professional degree. On the surface, your age is an advantage but an insufficient ielts score could negate it.
In short, you both shld write ielts and evaluate your LLB and MSc. The outcome will determine who's PA.

Please I will like to know if my course of study has to match my work experience to apply for a PNP.
I study Cell Biology and Genetics from UNILAG but my work experience are
Customer Service Representative in glo- 2010- 2013
Business Sales Partner role in a Bank- 2013 till present.
I learnt some province expect that as I studied Cell Biology, my experience should be around Lab, Hospital
Please enlighten me
I took my IELTS last month L8S7W7R7
ECA will be ready 4th of October
Your work experience does not have to align with your course of study. But if I may ask, why do you want to go the PNP route? It's slower, more cumbersome and a little costlier than the direct route. Your result seems to be good enough for the direct route, however, lets know your age, marital status and highest education level to assess your chances. You may not need that PNP wahala at the end of the day.

Good day everybody, Please i have two questions.

1. For somebody that has HND with several International Professional certifications in Occupational Health and Safety (Like NEBOSH IGC, NEBOSH IOGC, OSHA). Which one is advisable to used for Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)

2. Can your Spouse's cousin that is a Canadian citizen be classified as your family.

Thanks
1. Just jejely evaluate ur HND and OND with WES as 2 or More Certificates. That's d best u can get from what you have. All those other bling bling certifications that sound like tongues no go fetch u anything. Lol.
2. Any relative of ur spouse, all na family ties but Only spouse's sibling can get u points in Express Entry.

Take advantage of your score now, you don't know what scores will be in next three months though we all hope and pray to have the CRS reducing.

There are a couple of folks with PPR who received significant amount of their POF after ITA. Ehmm, ITA at hand is better than ITA with IRCC.
Seconded!

Goodevening fabulous people. Pls I want to put in for PNP. I studied computer sc but I learnt plumbing before I gained admission into varsity and I've been doing this plumbing as per time work since then alongside with my studies. Now I want to know how my skill will be accessed or the documents I need to provide. Thanks Everyone
Bro, before settling for PNP, I suggest you check your chances of a direct ITA. State ur profile i.e. age, qualification, yrs of work experience (apart from plumbing), marital status, IELTS score. That way, folks here can advise better on way forward.

Secondly, your plumbing skills may be useful after landing Canada but will not get you any points in this application process except you can prove it with a certification that is recognized by Canada. And from my little knowledge, na long thing.

The only other way the plumbing could be useful in this application is if you intend using it as your occupation to prove work experience since it falls under NOC B. That way, you will need to provide a reference letter from your place of work as evidence of employment. This may be dicy though.

LONG POST ALERT!

I just thought I should post this; it may not be relevant to majority of us here but i feel there may just be someone who this post could benefit.

It's about getting into the Skilled Trades in Canada. From my little research, there's an increasing shortage of people in this category and some predict that there would be around 1 million labour shortage in the next decade or so because there are fewer people positioned to take over from the ones getting towards retirement. Skilled trades range from electrician, plumbing, welding to wedding planner, cook, baker etc. There over a hundred of them.

I know most of us here are very educated and as Nigerians, we prefer to use our hard earned degrees to work even if it's in an area we didn't really choose. I'm also aware that there are several of us who would really love to be doing something different from our line of study if only the pay was decent. Some of us have natural inclination towards more hands-on occupations (skilled trades) but are sitting in the office because of financial security.

Many of us would have to sit some licensing exams or even go back to school upon landing Canada in order to practice. But for people like me who feel we're built for something different but under-utilizing our potential in the corporate sphere, I suggest you give a thought to pursuing a career in the trades irrespective of our BSc and Masters or PHd and do something more fulfilling.
There are basically 2 routes to trades- study in a college OR enrol as apprentice. In actual fact, both routes will require some classroom training but there's a difference. While the former is shorter and ends up in a certification, you only start acquiring experience after completion. Also, it's costlier in that you pay tuition for a few years (depending on program) and do it fulltime or part-time.
As for the apprenticeship approach, you don't pay for training, rather you get paid (some even higher than Canadian national average) and simultaneously acquire work experience. It also involves classroom training for about 2-3 months yearly in an assigned college or institute. Certification can take up to 4-5 years depending on trade but one would have acquired industry experience and built a good network along the way. I root for this approach as it offers one both employment, experience and certification at the same time rather than engage in a survival (mostly unrelated) job while studying/schooling for certification for few years. There are also some grants by Canadian govt to PRs and citizens who enrol in apprenticeship.

Skilled trades in Canada is not a bad idea and some earn as high as $100k CAD/yr or higher and even earn pension upon retirement.

So guys, sorry for the epistle. I just thought to share some info perhaps someone may benefit.
Cheers!

Hi Family,
Here is my profile.
Age 29
Bsc
Test result 8777
Work exp 3yrs

Hubby
37
Bsc
Work exp 10yrs
Test 8777

Please gurus in the house help me to calculate it.
Do we have to apply for province nomination
What is the next step
With you being the principal applicant, if the 8 in both ielts results were in Listening, your CRS points will be 431 making you an ideal candidate for this Express Entry without needing provincial nomination. This is assuming your hubby also evaluates his BSc.
431 is within touching distance of recent cut-offs (433, 434 & 435) for ITA so i guess you stand a good chance.
However (and it's just a suggestion), if money is no constraint and you want to maximize your chances, you may want to rewrite ielts for a better score. Reason is that it's the only area where you can improve your CRS points just in case CRS cut-off in subsequent draws doesn't fall to 431.

Good day, I will like to apply for my wife. She is nurse, she has a school of nursing certificate plus other professional nursing courses and she is currently doing her MSC now, she also has like 7yrs working experience, she has written test of English exam and she has a good score. How do I proceed with the application.
1. Tell us ur wife's exact IELTS score just to confirm it's a good result for express entry. Pls, no insult intended here o.
2. When will she complete her MSc program?
3. Has she started evaluating her Nursing certificate with either of WES, IQAS, ICES etc?
4. What's her age?
5. If you don't mind, tell us ur level of education and whether or not you have also written IELTS test. You can actually boost your wife's chances of a successful application.

With answers to the above questions, I'm sure people here will be better able to guide you.

Please, for those that used ACCA here.

WES gave me 4year Canadian Bachelor degrees for my ACCA (affiliate) and Bsc. That was early last year. So I claimed 2 or more degrees.

ACCA has deregistered me April this year because of non payment of subscription for 2016 and 2017 (£286).

Do i need to show proof of being acca affiliate to cic when submitting my eapr?

That acca affiliate subscription money much o.. About 112k naira
IMO, if WES has already evaluated your ACCA, which proves its authenticity, i do not think CIC gives 2 about current membership based on one subscription. They have 'better' things to worry about. Just upload your WES report with whatever doc ACCA issued you and move on as if nothing has changed.

Hahaha @ your last paragraph. grin

I have never been one for helps sha, maybe coz I moved to Naija recently and I no get strength to beg anybody to do anything for me. I have always done Creche and Daycare. Pick the kids on my way back from work, bath everybody and call it a night. So I guess there will be no difference for me when I move hahahaha as per no depression lol. I'll miss my cleaner though. He comes twice a week. That's what I'm worried about when we eventually move. Getting a cleaner. In Yankee, you can get them very easily for $40 per week.
Any way, you'll be fine once you get into a routine. Get the kids into a routine, everybody to bed at 7pm so you can breathe. I was hardcore with my two kids, sleep trained them at 2 months to sleep through the night coz I can't come and die. That what I had time for other things, cooking, etc. In fact if you want me to share my excel sheet routine with you, send me a pm. Hopefully you won't be scared like this woman has her kid on robot mode hahaha cheesy

Hi Algbenguze,

Was it my experience you referred to below? If so, just to clarify that the officer simply asked how much we had on us, and we replied that we had no cash. Then he asked how much we had access to and we responded with the total in our US bank accounts and Nigerian domiciliary accounts. My husband started to show the officer one of his bank balances but he was not interested at all and he turned his face away. We guessed it was because the amount we had said was satisfactory enough.

In any case, I do not have a lot of experience in this area besides mine. I would advise though that everyone have the required amount available just in case, as I have heard of people being asked to show their balances or for their cash to be counted.

All the best!
