Hello Family. I’ve been very inactive on the forum for almost a year now but kept the Canadian dream alive. Here’s my timeline (still awaiting PPR) ITA Oct 15, 2018 AOR Nov 17, 2018 Med passed/Biometrics request 18 Dec, 2018 Biometrics completed Dec 20, 2018 CIC has been silent since then and I’m a little uncomfortable. Tried to find out my visa office but learned I won’t get a response if I’m still within the 6mth timeline which ends May 17th. Anything I need to know? Thanks guys. 1 Like |

Hi guys! Please can someone explain what these people mean by Proof of Relationship in eAPR. This is different from the request for marriage license/certificate (which I’ve uploaded already). The help sign says “Proof of your relationship with your host or family member. This can include a marriage certificate, birth certificate, official document naming you as a parent or a copy of the inside back cover of the inviter’s passport showing inviter’s parents if possible”. My question is: “Relationship with whom exactly?” I’m a little confused. |

GlitteringStar: Madam doesn’t have masters and we’re just few months apart in age. Good thing though is that we’re still working on her ECA which should add 8 points upon completion in few weeks or more. With that (making 442), ITA should be within reach hopefully. Thanks sis. How far with your end? You should have arrived Canada by now. Right? 9 Likes |

Just in case anyone finds himself/herself in similar situation: I just got my UK PCC today. As proof of address, I only had my bank statement corresponding with my address. My ECA report was sent to another address for easy delivery. So, I used my Nig Driver’s license as it also carried my current address. This hustle MUST end in praise. 7 Likes |

Dammie2017: Wait,!wait!! wait!!! Is that supposed to be a timeline? See, you’ll need to first put an intro... Something like “PPR is finally here” or you fit add small Christianese like “God has done what no man can do”. U fit even use song sef, like “Come and join me sing hallelujah...”. Secondly, you’ll start with your IELTS test results, then date of ECA report, date of ITA and AOR...and eventually PPR. You know, something like that. Oya go back and start again using the format I gave you. Then and only then will we congratulate you appropriately. Lol Na play I dey o. Congratulations! 40 Likes 2 Shares |

Congratulations to those who aced IELTS. To those who didn’t, giving up is NOT an option in this race (except maybe you’re just trying ur luck). But for those of us who really want it, the game is not over until we win. I also wrote IELTS thrice before hitting the needed scores but was prepared to write as many as 10 times if I had the money. We’ll all achieve our dreams IJN. 11 Likes 1 Share |

Amakyzuu: Make sure your wedding date actually falls after AOR before adding him. Being totally silent on his military job may backfire if they find out. That will result in a 5 yr ban which is much longer than the 1 yr wait (which isn’t cast in stone anyway) that you’re trying to avoid. The only other option is to apply as single if you’re in so much hurry to enter Canada. The downside of that approach will also be the long wait involved in sponsoring a spouse. Think it through properly. 1 Like |

These CIC people are beginning to vex me. They must be smoking something. So they make us wait 3 weeks only to still invite just 2750 people again even when they have higher targeted for 2018. It’s like this talk of CIC being unpredictable is getting into their head. Na by force to be unpredictable? SMH. It’s a little annoying though when some of us don nearly drown finish inside pool waiting for life jacket (ITA); whereas some others just enter pool and catch ITA same day even before their cloth wet. Issokay! Anyway, Congrats to all ITA recipients; and please, I’m not beefing o. Safe journey from here on! 20 Likes |

Ojasope1: If he’s over 29 years in age, He would not even need PCC from SA since he got back in 2007 (over 10 years already). The requirement is for countries you have visited within last 10 years or since 18th birthday, whichever is more recent. #GoAndSinNoMore 9 Likes |

MissCee: Your dad/Mum applying as a skilled worker at their age may be a tall order. However, there could be other ways: 1) Either of ur parents may enroll for a PhD program and you guys tag along as dependents if you’re still below 22yrs of age. An uncle of mine actually followed this route several years ago. His wife enrolled in a PhD program taking him and their children along as dependents. I don’t have much detail about their application though, I would have been more explicit. 2) Those of you (children) who are eligible for EE may apply individually and later bring the parents over as visitors or even as PRs through the Parents and Grandparents program (you may want to read further on this). 3) If ur dad has enough ‘pepper’, he can explore some PNPs designed for businessmen/investors. If nominated, he then applies directly for PR taking u guys along. 4) You could use the service of a licensed immigration lawyer (not just any agent o) for the best possible route. Unfortunately, I’m not one but there are definitely options available. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Advice to ‘newbies’: You either read up extensively or be ready to pay someone who has read for guidance. You can’t avoid both. Most of the seniors here did a lot of reading but many of the newcomers have become ‘feeding-bottle’ applicants, asking about every single thing. Not everything posted on this thread is accurate. You either READ or PAY. 20 Likes |

oladoyinsola: It’s not a problem. What you had before marriage could pass for Common-Law Partnership (which is also recognized by CIC) since you don’t have documentation to prove it. A simple letter of explanation with evidence that you only recently married should suffice. All the best! 4 Likes |

Oga @Pidgin2, I initially thought u were pulling our legs here. You speak like the average Nigerian earns N2m per month from all the illusion u painted in your posts. Let's even start with the most privileged Nigerian: Even your president is not guaranteed good quality of life here otherwise he wouldn't be doing ordinary "routine check-ups" (not surgery o) in London with taxpayers' money. His children also school abroad, likewise that of the Senate President. Our first lady had to go search for a private hospital just to have an x-ray; thank God it wasn't an emergency. The funniest part of that your post talked about treating borehole water "to your taste". U be chemist? Water that should be tasteless and odourless? Talking of serviced apartments on the Island, no be bad and flooded roads person go drive pass? What we even call enjoyment here sef is very questionable. Wait sef...What are you even doing on this thread and the EE thread if you're not planning to relocate yourself? If na joke, pls stop am! 28 Likes 1 Share |
