Kontagious:
As little as 0.5 less in any of 8777 takes about 55-60 points off your score. A minimum of 8777 will give him the needed boost to surpass draws of that period. I believe retaking the IELTS was all he did.

Lol. Crazy IELTS-CRS relationship.
I had and 8.0 average (included a 6.5 in Reading) and CRS was 359.
Then I had a 7.5 average (nothing less than a 7) and CRS jumped to 410.
Just imagine a whopping 51 points difference with a seemingly 'worse' result. That Skills Transferability nonsense sha, it's just crazy.

So I’m still dancing but let me drop my timeline.
ECA - June 2016
IELTS- July 2016 8,8,7.5, 6
Crs score of 396 so I gave up on the whole thing. Then I found you guys, started reading and started believing again
2nd IELTS - 29th July 2017
New express entry profile - 2nd August
ITA - 17th August
AOR - 13th November
Med passed - 24th November
PPR - 12th December

Guys it’s been God all the way because my application wasn’t perfect in any way. I had to wait almost 3 months for POF after ITA. Ended up using a gift deed (100% of the funds).
Let me stop here for now and go and submit passport.

Congrats.

Hi Threadstone . . . Good morning.

The thing is, with very high IELTS scores which I aim to get, I got a CRS of 441. When I take the test in Jan 18 in the US and get the projected score, I will dive into the pool immediately and I expect ITA should be out by Feb 18. I know all of these is not cast in stone, but when it's cast in stone this way, I want to think that I can use my work reference letter dated Dec 17, at Feb 18.

However, i buy into your views about the statement "employed till date" that will be quoted on the letter. As such, i will hold off on getting the letter now.

Abeg do you have that officer Moshood's number or do I just get to Alagbon and ask of Moshood?

I think you can go ahead and obtain the reference letter. Since every letter is dated, stating "employed till date" shouldn't be an issue because the statement will be true as at the time the letter was written. If the duration of the employment at the time it was written is sufficient to back the work experience you claimed points for, you're good.
What if a person gets sacked a week after obtaining a reference letter (which would have stated "till date"wink, does he go back to request another one?
IMO, this is even a non-issue.

Get ITA, submit your APR (with AOR confirmation), let small breeze blow on your AOR (as advised by a good senior), marry her and then notify IRCC to add her - she will do medicals, PCC and you will update your POF. However if your PPR happens to be one of those that come out with speed of light like some people on this forum and you get PPR before the breeze has finished blowing, I can’t help you with that one grin

Lol @ blowing of breeze. Great advice there anyway.

In the words of a fellow Nairalander: "There's a way you can tell someone to go to hell and he'll be looking forward to the journey".

Diplomacy is a valuable skill to have; it can unlock some impossible doors. The ability to pass across a message purely without the usual accompanying "noise"(in whichever form) is very rare. Some have it, others don't. Truth is, not everyone can/should have it because God created everything in variety for a reason.
It has its pros and also its cons, maybe more of the former. Those who possess it get along with far more people (and enjoy the accompanying benefits) than others.
Wisdom is also in understanding that people are, and will be, different so we should take them for who they are, not what they "should" be.
With the passage of time, experience always reveals which side pays the higher dividend, and no other person but you will reap the benefits/consequences of your different actions or attitudes.

Good morning house,

I got my IELTs yesterday, had 8.5,7.5,7.5 ,7 in LRSW. My CRS with spouse non -accompanying is 408. I am filling my express entry profile. Will I have the option to fill spouse details?
If my spouse should change his mind before provincial nomination and write IELTS , can I still edit my EE profile to read spouse accompanying?

Thank you.

Congrats.
This Nov 11 IELTS really favoured a lot of us. Let the trend continue abeg.

Hi Everyone. I have a LSRW score of 7.5,7.5, 6.5, 7.0. 32years. Bsc, 10yrs work Experience.
Husband is uninterested and did not do well in his IELTS. We can't view his result for 11th Nov. I'm certain he did not shade well.
I've applied for WES, transcript is pending with school.
But no matter how best i do in IELTS, i can't get past 425 for CRS.
Husband doesn't have up to 3yrs experience but has an MSc.
He would have given us a 464.
What's the best option at this point?

Whatever his IELTS result is, just take it and add his MSc ECA. By God's grace, your next attempt will be ur last.

IELTS finally out. But BC has a way of watering down someone's excitement sha. Issokay!

1st: LRSW 8.5, 6.5, 8.5, 7.5

2nd: LRSW 8, 6.5, 8, 7.5

EOR (2nd): LRSW 8, 6.5, 8.5, 8.5

3rd: LRSW 8, 7.5, 7, 7.5

CRS moved from 359 to 410 points.

Band 7.0 in Speaking? With all my grammar that day? I'll take it anyway considering the time implication of another EOR because of 3 points.
In all, I'm thankful to God that my business with BC is finally over.
Now awaiting Madame's IELTS and ECA to boost things.
This one will surely end in praise whether they like it or not.

Hello threadstone.....cool name by the way cheesy cheesy

Your reply above cut my attention and I'm here, still bleeding wink

I have someone with a profile similar to the young lady you advised.

Profile: 27 years, Married, M.sc while husband is 33, and also with an M.sc......

How will the husband not do ECA and IELTS and still remain a secondary applicant? Please shed more light.

The purpose of an applicant's spouse doing ECA or IELTS is solely to gain more points, not for eligibility. If the principal applicant can garner enough points to meet cut off for ITA, the spouse should just save the money for his/her own.
Outside of points, spouse's IELTS, ECA or work experience is irrelevant. The only things mandatory for spouse are PCC and medical tests.
Hope there's enough light now.

A letter of authority is a letter which authorises another individual to pick the EOR/TRF on his behalf. It could be something like -

Dear Sir,

Letter of Authority to Pick up Test Report Form

Further to your email/letter/text dated Bleep, requesting me to pick up my EOR results, I hereby authorize Mr/Ms xxxxx to pick this up on my behalf. He/She will be identified by his/her xxxxx identity card. Kindly note that he/she is also authorized to pick up my TRF.

Thanks & regards,

XXXXXXXX (Passpor No. xxxxx)

Your brother should not forget to attach a copy of his passport biodata page. When he collects the EOR result, he will know whether his result was upgraded. Hope this helps.

In addition to the above, let your friend/bro go with a copy of your own passport data page and attach it to the authority letter. Let him open the EOR envelope right there in their office to see if there is an upgrade and whether the forms for claiming a refund are also contained. If not provided, he should request for them if needed.

I don't know how this method works for you, I have tried it over and over again, I couldn't cope with writing what the speakers were saying and as well listen, as I miss-out the key points in the cause of jotting down their words. The best practise that worked for me was read the question carefully and then listen to the reason given, then scan through the answers to see what option matches (either in exact words or paraphrase).

It works mainly for when you have the questions printed on paper, not doing it from the computer screen. That's how it is in real test anyway. By jotting I didn't mean word for word, you can't cope with the speed. I meant jotting key points, relating to the question you're looking to answer, on the question paper, close to the question. It'll be more like taking the minutes of a speech. Usually in such questions, the speaker would likely touch on all the options given just to throw you off but he will always only affirm one (directly or indirectly).
It takes a little speed in writing and several times of practice to master.
Once you get hold of it, even if all 40 questions were to be MCQs, you'll still score very high if not all.

Hello at everyone nice topic. Am about to start the process but I need abit advice if it's the right time for me to do so. Am currently doing my masters and my wife also we should both get the masters certificate next year October and we have a lovely baby who is just 6 month we not officially married my question are.
1. Should we wait until we get the masters degree am 29 and she is 26.
2. Should I start with IETLS registration and do we both need to take the English test.
3. We both have a 3 years working experience here in Holland.
Pls I need advice and comment on my chances thanks.

From your profile, you'll have a huge chance with your Masters.
Even if you choose to start now as a couple/common law partners, you still have a chance but only by scoring IELTS 8.5, 8, 7.5, 7.5 in LRSW modules and madam 8777 respectively. Your CRS will be 443 in that scenario, which is good enough to get you an ITA based on current trend.
