I think you meant that for donedy "I am from kogi" LOL. Very difficult set of people. Always biased and tribalistic

donedy: Do you think all people here are tribal bigots like you people. I even expect the Hausa's to be one making noise, but the opposite happened. Tell me if you know everywhere where people from Kogi have criticized the book.

You Yorubas are all alone.
You see, YOU ARE IGBO. I told you before that Yorubas especially people like me and likes of Awolowo know how the Igbo man thinks. Who care who is alone or not, who cares about allainaces here, have you been reading my post at all ?. An old biafran man published a book full of lies and you expect people to keep shut about it. You are one funny set of people I no go lie

Whatever you call me does not change who I am. I am Alj harem a nairalander that can chose to be anyone at anytime. I have stayed in Kogi so that is why I ask, what part of Kogi because they don't think like you bigots.

A book published to insinuate Genocide on a well respected former leader among the yorubas should now be sweept under the carpet because it is an Igboman that wrote it ? LOL indeed funny set of people

I just pray this country split so people like you and Achebe can have your country.

Any other group be it Ijaw, Ibibio and co that want to join a country where Igbos believe they are better than other groups can join and likes of Achebe can keep writing crap BUT YORUBAS WOULD NOT ALLOW SUCH if you involve them. Fact

manny4life: Apparently, you may end up being the beast whom you accuse others of, whether u like it or not, accept it or not, you coexist with other Nigerians regardless of their ideologies and tribalism behaviors. At one point in time, today, this week, or month, or quarter or even this year, you've either solicited or patronized or have been patronized by an Igbo person (whether it's purchase of food, water, gas, transportation, trade, services - banking, medical, information, and what have you. Again, you may choose to accept the truth, or live in denial of the status quo.

Now, how u choose to tell yourself the truth is definitely up to you. Read the topic headline, read the story, piece 2+2 together, and you'll see the answer to the question you asked

masu: Alj harem blv me when i say fulani's are a deadly virus to us all not the south nor the beltans.

you can see how difficult it is for you to remember the igbo vs yoruba tribal fight, but last year alone
fulani's fought in many states in the south and beltans(enugu, imo, delta, edo, ogun, ondo, oyo, ekiti, kwara, benue, plataue, nasarawa etc)

can you see it pal. Gideon Okar knows better and we knows it too and that is whay i try to inform any southern and beltans that want to know.

what i see in yoruba and igbos is just life normal competition that is blown out of propotion.
this two group has made nigeria proud to the world.

i cannever be a party that will fight southerners again or choose core north(fulani/hausa/kanuri) above southerners or beltans.
it will be dificult for igbos to name 3 things yorubas did against them and also dificult for yorubas to name 3 things igbos did against them.

but fulanis has delt with us all uncountable times even in our remote villages. bro if you come to plataue we have more to tell the nation.
I understand your views BUT don't agree with your solutions. Give me suggestions then

ak47mann: i have nothing much to tell you because you have a multiple personality disorder,am not insulting you but am telling you truth, when i was much younger at the age of remembering things,i use to think then that igbos are not wanted in nigeria it was a common slang then, but at that age i couldnt understand the harsh history behind it.I was too young to understand meanings and reason behind it,even some nwafors started shying away from anything to do with there culture, language and so on, just because your people succeed on propaganda and spreading lies even using continues rioting, to gain more political power. You people brought corruption to nigeria because with corruption there will be no accountability no proper documentation, politicians can manipulate census numbers and they can amend laws that suits them,in that way they can keep the power for themselves not for you (al harem) but for themselves and families..

Mr if you want nigeria to survive you got to change, there is no two ways about it or else you dont want nigeria to survive!the ball is your game cool
Nigeria this Nigeria that. NIGERIA WOULD ONLY CHANGE IF LIKES OF MASU and co change their ways. Lagos is a mini Nigeria where we have equal representation of all ethnic groups and minorities. If you want to model a peaceful Nigeria, start from Lagos by being peaceful and stop complaining about tribalism.

When I was much younger, I use to tell my distant uncle (Igbo) that I want an Igbo Governor of Lagos. He use to be very happy then (remember the grin on his face). I remember him telling me that he was happy this was coming from a lagos indigene from a royal home.

My taugth back then was that, I would make Lagos a non- Yoruba state free of indigenes and crap. everyone has equal stake in the state thus making Lagos the first true united state. How naive thinking back now, how very naive.

A man tax his state, rather than discuss about the task, you are calling him a tribalist. Sure I was naive. Lagos state CAN NEVER BE LIKE THAT unless you all change inculding the so called "middlebelter"

masu: AM FROM PLATAUE STAE:
now listen stop geting angry for nothing that is the why i see the danger in igbo vs yoruba fight,
i some how doubt your yoruba identity for real bcus you accept yoruba versus igbo war too easy while you vehemently object fulani/hausa been a problem to us all.
am scratching my head to blv or not if you are yoruba for real but for now let me look the other way.

as a plataue man i can tell you with first hand info that we are regreting the war, we fought wrong people.
let me point out for you atleast 4 state in the belt: kwara/nasarawa/plataue and benue has seen the true color of fulanis till date read news bro.

you yorubas are a bit far away from this monsters now but i promise you if they finishes with us there will be no where the south can hide.
I doubt if you are from plateau and even if that is the case. What exactly are you saying ? We should accept Igbo rule over Yorubas or what Please be clear

Or we should accept the lies of ACHEBE ? Make yourself clear. I don't think you understand even the people of plateau's position not to talk of yorubas cus if you do you would not be talking out of ignorance here.

Ok let me make myself clear now so it is easy for you and anyother pro-southern Nigeria

1. Yorubas would not accept Achebe's lies. This is not an attack on the Igbos or debunking Achebe's lies

2. If Igbos knowing how tribalistic Achebe sounded still support him, then it shows the sort of people we are breeding in Nigeria and that would not be accepted as well.

3. Yorubas don't likes Hausa or fulanis nether do they hate them. We would support any group that fights for justice.

4. VERY IMPORTANT YOU UNDERSTAND THIS POINT * Yorubas would not form a southern Nigeria with Igbos current attitudes of victimization and superority complex they have on themselves. I do not want to wake up and be told that "we are the best" we are this we are that every day. I want a country were I can meet my Itsekiri or Ijebu or Ijaw etc brother and we can walk beside each other as equals beside financial statue.

5. Yorubas don't hate the Igbos infact Yorubas are the only group that love Igbos the most because we UNDERSTAND THEM well. That is the truth and we understand the way they think even better. As an igbo poster rightly stated here "oil (yoruba) and water (igbos) can never mix" (Onlytruth quote) that is the case of southern nigeria.

Also as Achebe rightly said "His yoruba people" showing he did not see us as one people.

6. A yoruba man JUST WANT PEACE OF MIND AND THE ADVANCEMENT OF HIS PEOPLE. We do not like wars, chest beating and lies. Just peace so we can live normal lives.

I hope I am clearer now

masu: you dont get it, i personaly has no prob with who or not that governs the nation.
i love yoruba people thats why i can point out the danger in their way,
i dont trust fulani friendship at all and this is the people yorubas are coperating with.

on the issue of self centeredness, i think its true about the igbos but hey fulani's are worst bcus from their culture to religion they see others as inferior.
common this is a general thing even ghanians see other africans as nobody that we all need ghanian leadership to progress,
yorubas see other nigerian groups as illitrates and fools.
Yoruba co-operating with Fulani huh shocked I wonder where you got that info from. I don't understand where you are coming from, So not hate a group based on sentiment means Yorubas co-operate with them ? Would you want yorubas to support a genocide on the fulanis rather ?

Also Yorubas DON'T SEE OTHER NIGERIAN GROUPS AS ILLITERATES OR AS FO.OLS. Where did you get that from ? Would you allow an illiterate or a fo.ol to rule over you ?

Can you allow an illiterate or a fo.ol to co-exist with you ?

Can you allow an Illiterate or a fo.ol interact with you daily without becoming one yourself ?

One only becomes an illiterate and AN INGRATE when he sees himself over other.

masu: alj harem you as a yoruba man will agree with me that you can choose a self centered man than deadly friend.

use kwara war and usman dan fodio as case study.

you are a yoruba but we are beltans and i can tell you better whom fulanis are.

an eastern/western and beltans/deltans still hav feelins in their evil. but fulanis is no no.

you cant see any southerner nor beltans fighting against their host community any where in nigeria but only fulanis are doing it from time immemorial.
its genetic in them that is why from dan fodio time till now they have not changed.

that is why i blv like Gideon okar that nigeria war should be we vs fulanis and hausa/kanuris if they choose to fight alongside of fulanis.
LOL Yes I am yoruba from Lagos to be precise and I have lived with many Nigerians both in Lagos and in other state. Yorubas are middle belters as well so I don't understand what you mean by "you are yoruba, I am a middle belter".

About southerner, LOL you make me laugh.

As a lagosian I have seen inter-ethnic clash between IGBOS AND YORUBAS well one of which is still fresh in my memories. I am not a bigot as I have Igbo family members (remember) and yes they do agree with my views on how I see Igbos and I say it openly because it is the truth.

I do not hate Igbos BUT ( A BIG BUT) Yorubas CANNOT form a country with them for one simple fact which is "SOME OF THEM BELIEVE THEY ARE SUPERIOR TO OTHERS".

If you as a middle belter want a baifran then good luck with that. From time memorial the West (inculding Kwara, western kogi, Western delta(warri)) Have made it clear that we are not going to have a country with Igbos. If you are good with history then go research anf you would know why Westerner (true ones) are adamant. There was a time Yorubas wanted a country with Igbos but that time is long gone, thanks to Nnamdi Azikwe the father of tribalism.

Okar was on his own as the west would further break way if the new country is not founder of justics and equality where every man is equal. That is a fact.

yes we are aware of these. I would not dispute this fact but THAT HAS NOT ERASE THE FACT THAT ACHEBE LIED TO AGAINST THE INNOCENTS THAT ARE DEAD TO DEFEND THEMSELVES.

I pray Igbos rise above any circumstance they preceive to be in. I really do but don't just involve Yorubas in this petty games of ethnic superiority you people inculding the older generations are doing

WE SEE ALL NIGERIANS ARE AS EQUALS AND THAT FACT WOULD NOT CHANGE. WE ARE NOT LIKE IGBOS THAT ARE IN COMPETITION WITH OTHERS. Just learn to stop persecuting and trying rule the yoruba people and we would do the same.

masu: i blv yorubas are fighting other peoples(hausa/fulani) fight unknowingly.

for me as a middlebeltan our major problem in nigeria is fulani's,
the earlier we know this truth the better for us all.

too many Ndeltans and Mbeltans are cool with igbos and yorubas.
we all hav issues with hausa/fulani from the time of Usman dan fodio.

but igbos should quit crying like babies though anygroup that lost upto two million kitts/kins in a
war can never wipe it under the table truth be told.

yorubas should quit making the whole thing yoruba versus igbo affair bcus tables can turn,
hausa/fulanis are the worst allies one may need in time of trouble. i hope u knw wat i mean.
Would you shut it

Table turn to what ? So you expect Yorubas to accept the lies of Achebe ?

Hausa/Fulani are not OUR ENEMIES. Get that into your skull, what part of the middlebelt are you ? Please answer my question because Fulanis are indigenous to 4 middlebelters states which are out of the 6 territoties in the middle belt

Why do you hate the Hausa/fulani so much ? And if so, why did you allow them to use you during the war. Or how many Hausa faulani fought during the war ? compare to "middle belters"

This rubbish about Middlebelt really has to end, when did Middlebelt which is majority Fulani, Yoruba, Idoma, Nupe and Igala become biafra.

If Achebe had any wisdom he should not have added Yoruba because we would respond if there is any lies that would tarnish our image as an Ethnic Nation. That is a fact.

If it means it is seen as a yoruba vs Igbo war, then so be it because Yoruba nation accept the lies of a man would response is not possible

I want my Igbo people to go home and trade, there's Onitsha (the largest market) for them to trade, I honestly don't see why they (or anyone) should be paying so much enormous amount that has no added value to them. If they paid it to SE govt, at least, it will add value to the SE.

Look, refrain from calling people beast, because when you coexist with one, that makes u a beast as well... Have that at the back of your mind.
No I do not coexist with beasts angry angry angry

@ OP

It annoys the hell out of me when I see people trying to label an innocent policy or person tribalistic angry It is crazy

I remember one iddeiot doing that to Keshi and taught to myself if he was normal

COSA Ikeijiri whom I like, some elements too were calling him tribalitic which I debunked immediately

All of which likes of bliss4lyf and co agreed to

Now Lagos not Fashola have a tax system which has since been enforced. Some elements did not pay their task, rather than discuss about it THEY started labelling him a tribalist even though he has done the same to my family members before.

Now I ask, DO THESE SO CALLED "IGBO" TRADERS (according to nairaland igbos) have more RIGHTS THAN INDIGENES OF LAGOS THAT THEY ARE EXEMPTED FROM TAX ?

Why are they always quick to label anyone anti-igbo or a tribalist when it is clear as day he does it for everyone.

It is quiet annoying. Why are other groups like the Hausas, Ijaws etc not complaining ?

On a real, any neutral would know why this is very annoying.

I mean you all agreed that Lagos is a no mans land. If so, why would a governor target a particular group alone when they are even minorities in the state.

In Lagos state we have more Yoruba and Hausas than anyother group doing businesses. We have a huge size of Ibibios and Ijaws as well as the Nupes/Igalas. Edos and itsekiris come to mind as well so why only igbos angry angry I mean it sounds annoying

lastly anybody that knows him should advice him not to use his local NL champion attitude to come outside.
there are many experts out there. am just advicing i no be igbo nor yoruba.
I guess KNOW you did not read the article because if you took your time to read and understand the distrust Achebe has made in Nigeria you would not be making such statement.

I mean Omogui too has commented about the book apart from Buhari. Are they also yorubas ?

When I talk to be people (from all corners of Nigeria) and they tell me that Igbos Should never be allowed to rule Nigeria I usually say it a lie and argue it out until A GHANAIAN-NIGERIAN actually told me that Igbos are too self-centred and fell superior to others that I realised the truth in his statement.

I have close Igbo family and friends but I tell them to their faces that as far as I am concerned. Igbos are not the best people in Nigeria and THEY AGREE WITH ME SURPRISE but not too surprisingly because they know their people.

cap28: Fashola is targetting all of you - igbos, hausas and yorubas, you still havent understood that this is about reducing the masses to penury irrespective of tribe, while the 1% ie Fashola's business associates, foreign investors , friends and relatives continue to make millions from your suffering.

Who do you think he's building all those luxury apartment blocks for, the masses? how about the light railway - you think he gives a damn about the average poor lagosian?

The tribalism that we are talking about is the one being shown by yorubas on this thread who are rejoicing because Fashola's current victims are igbos, the thing he is already victimising yorubas with his punitive economic policies - remember the lekki toll gate episode, remember the way the people of makoko were bull dozed out of their slums, remember the okada riders - Fashola is victimising all of you but your tribalism prevents you from seeing the wood from the trees.
Exactly, I am saying the same thing here. What do you mean by Tribemen, Have I supported the RUBBISH THEY ARE SAYING HERE ? NO

What annoys me is us talking about ACN excesses rather than some people trying to paint tribalism going on in Lagos.
