OP I total disagree with you calculation They claim claimed around 1.4 trillion was paid in Subsidies in 2011 and according to the SURE document N1.134 trillion is re-investible from PMS subsidy removal. Simple mathematics shows that since 75 naira is the amount paid on PMS subsidy from 141 naira which is the current price, that means Nigerians consumed N1.134 trillion / N75 = 15120 million litres in the year. More mathematics says daily consumption averages 41.42 million litres i.e. by dividing the annual consumption by 365. Which does not included Kerosene Yet because this is only PMS Now, Mrs Madueke have not been able to explain to us how Nigerians started consuming 41.42 million litres by day or are we drinking fuel Now ? In you analysis yo claim 35 million but the subsidy is claiming another when even a cursory look at the past NNPC records for the past 13 years (1997 – 2010) shows that the highest we have ever gone is 27 million litres? Did Nigerians suddenly start buying Cars and Generators? Another quick look at the statements by Senator Bukola Saraki that roused the whole subsidy brouhaha showed that probably Nigerians started drinking fuel around June, meaning that consumption was stable at around 27 million litres for the first 6 months, then in the last 6 months, consumption became around 55.8 million liters per day. It is still a mystery unsolved what Nigerians started doing starting from June, after the Inauguration of the present Government that would gulp 55.8 million litres. In 2010, 2.8 million litres of PMS were refined averagely per day in NNPC (Local Refining). Are we paying subsidies on that also? Yes, it must be because,.,.,.,.,. if not, then Mrs DAM still has more explanations to make on how 1.134 trillion was spent on subsidy when 2.8 million litres per day is domestic refining. Doing a quick calculation reveals that 76 billion naira is the amount of subsidy paid on UNSUBSIDIZED domestically refined fuel. |

And please what kind of questions would Ndigbo ask that they haven't asked before? And by the way i thought we had a contract that you'll be Igbo for the mean time? When did you decide to migrate to the dark side of a particular place to the left?
my bad I thougth it was Ibur that owned it Nope They have not asked it. It recent times, Boko haram has been killing Igbos more now than ever. I expect Ohaneze or so to ask the commissioner of police what is happening. It really makes me anger when I read news like this that is why I react unpredictable at time ![]() What even annoys me more is that my people (igbos) don't see the trend of what is going on. People like beaf and foreigners are causing discord among brethrens. Lets not fall for there silly trap. |

sheyguy:bros, that one get comma o Now according to the government, she said she is paying about 90 naira per liter thus that is why fuel is 141 or so Now. Ok if Ibrahim was NOT according to him collecting any subsidy, it means the fuel was less than 65 naira or else he would be losing huge profit I don't mind being educated here. |

For the avoidance of doubt, it is important to put it on record, that my oil company, the Global Fleet Oil and Gas, which has been operating in the past nine years, with more than 210 petrol stations across the country, has never collected any money called subsidy from the Federal Government or it's agents. in addition, I have never collected any allocation from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company or imported such. We only buy and sell. I challenge anyone who has contrary information to publish it or remain silent in shame. Thus is he telling us that Global Fleet Oil & Gas buys its oil for less than 65 Naira ? Hmmmm all of una go expose urself 1 by 1 |
dasparrow:Yes you are absolutly correct sir, right now we need to develop the agricultural sector WITH the revenues from the FG. In the SURE program i did not see agriculture in there (I hope I am correct) Thus I can say the FG has no plan in agriculture for Nigeria. Also I would like us to state other mineral mining. |
jason123:Dude he wants to trap you by playing his silly games again. Don't fall for it. Leave him to me Go ask ekt-bear, Gbawe etc that is what he is known for. |
People need to understand why the Senate, and the House of Reps do not support Jonathan. The main premise upon which GEJ's arguement for need to remove subsidy is based is that the nation spent 1.34 trillion on subsidy, which is too much. The Senate committee presently investigating the subsidy regime and the House of reps have told him that figur is fraudulent, that the subsidy in the last sevearl years has never exeeded 300 billion, it illogical and impossible for it to suddenly ballon like five times to almost 1.4 trillion. Neither Jonathan nor any goverment official has been able to offer the senate committe or House of Reps any satisfactory explanation. Are they supposed to blindly follow Jonathan and just take his word for it. Pat utomi said it during Jonthan's campeingn that the guy was spending like 100 million naira a day. The issue is this, the real subsidy figur is lower than 300 billion and easliy affordable to the nation's purse.
I hope you do not mind me copying you post. Thanks |
jason123:Oboy, pray hard o ![]() also pray that the FG would listen to the suffering of the people and YOU should come back to Nija |
New ID, another agent. LOL The money the fg is spending on "internet relation" could be spent better by explaining to Nigerians those figures on channels or any other reliable channel/website and not NTA |
Beaf:beaffff u don start again. is NNPC deregulated as well ? if yes then you can you kindly tell me what the FG has provided for Nigeria this year I would be glad. GEJ NEEDS TO ACT NOW AND STOP ACT NOW STUBBORN or what do you think ? |
manny4life:True, people need to take it easy. Now it seems like it is going to be hijack by touts looking to make some money. Now is the time for GEJ TO ACT LIKE A PRESIDENT AND DO THE MATURE THING BY HAVING AN OPEN DIALOGUE WITH NLC. |
jmaine:of course, this people are just pulling beaf's leg. Although it cannot be the whole coast line that would belong to ND. |

By Tony Adibe, Enugu An Enugu State labour leader, Comrade Festus Ozoeze was today arrested by the police, tried by a mobile court and remanded at the Enugu prisons for attempting to implement the nationwide strike ordered by the organised labour against the removal of fuel subsidy. The state Governor, Sullivan Chime reportedly ordered the setting up of the special court to try any worker and members of the organised labour found to have violated his order banning public assemblies, meetings and procession in the state. Ozoeze, who is the unit Vice Chair of Amalgamated Workers Union in Enugu State Water Cooperation, was said to have been arrested by the police, tried by one Magistrate Mba who presided over the tribunal set up by the State government at the premises of the Police CID and sent to the Enugu prisons for alleged conspiracy and breach of public peace. Enugu State Head of service, Mr. Dennis Eze, who led some government officials to unlock some government offices padlocked by labour leaders reportedly petitioned against Ozoeze alongside his Chairman at the Water Corporation, Comrade Timothy Ojielo and State Chairman of his union, Comrade Chris Elibe accusing them of violating the governor's order. It was learnt that the labour leaders were declared wanted by the police. http://dailytrust.com.ng/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=151921:subsidy-protests-day-10-ibadan-police-kill-27-year-old-new-dad&catid=2:lead-stories&Itemid=8 |

Oluremi Tinubu, a senator and wife of leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria,Bola Tinubu, and four other senators escaped death by the whiskers in Ibadan on Wednesday after angry mob attacked their convoy The senators were travelling by road, led by police escorts, following the grounding of flights in airports across the country as a result of the strike declared by labour unions to protest government’s cut of subsidy on fuel. According to an eyewitness, the mob damaged five cars belonging to the senators, including police escort vans leading the convoy. “The cars’ windscreens and windows were shattered and the senators’ valuable belongings were stolen by the mob,” an eyewitness said. Mrs. Tinubu was on the trip with Olugbenga Ashafa (ACN Lagos state), Babafemi Ojudu (ACN Ekiti state), Babajide Omoworare (ACN Ekiti state) and a yet to be identified senator. They all got stranded in Lagos Airport on Tuesday, missing the senate’s first plenary for the year. They were hoping to risk the potholes-ridden bad road to Abuja and catch up with at least one plenary for the week. When contacted on telephone, Mr. Ojudu complained he was not in “the right frame of mind” to narrate details of the incident. The senators escaped the attack unhurt and areheading back to Lagos to recover from the trauma. http://247ureports.com/2012/01/tinubu-ojudu-omoworare-two-others-escape-assasins-bullets-in-ibadan/ |
