The way IGR is defined in Nigeria is a bit screwy to me. VAT doesn't count, yet is "internally generated." The FG taxes companies I guess on behalf of the states and redistributes, yet this doesn't count as "internally generated." Oil wealth also for some reason doesn't count as internally generated. Port revenue that goes to the FG and is redistributed, also not internally generated. Airport revenue, same.
nah dapo

Oil money, fedral ports, fedral tax, does not count to IGR in nigeria

like for example the way lagos generates its revenue is by state tax, state toll gates, and states airport now

states like borno will generate money from food transactions and tourism

but all those shouting oil and co are saying rubbish
Politics › Re: Do Lagosians Still Want An Underground Rail System? by aljharem3: 5:08pm On Jul 15, 2011
i have to say if ACN or fashola are looking to buld an underground railway for lagos, then they are stu.pid or he is stu.pid

who builts an underground railway in a water logged state undecided

a tram is far better and cost effective than any underground crap

Jonathan is a zoologist. He has no business leading a nation.

Of all the degrees to have on campus -- where was he when his mates were studying zoology and all that ? Go sit down for zoo, where you belong to with the animals.

I have always said it that this issue of BOKOHARAM has an hidden agenda. The ppl behind bokoharam knew they can not use mend cause of de amnesty on ground dey now rooted for those boko guys to Discredit jonathan's Government, or how do we explain policemen escorting explosives 4 God sake are they now part of the military formation? What is This country turning to well now dat de millitary is involved am confident they would never be left off de hook. At the same time Nigerian police needs a serious reform too much corruption in dat arm of Nigerian security apparatus haba! since they have been accepting secondary school dropout as policemen i knew we r in trouble 4 naija.

I will not be surprised if it is finally unraveled that dere r sum political nuisance behind this Bokoharam issue anyways, i would say de SSS,Military police,DMI (Directorate of Military Intelligence) excluding de Nigerian police o! should do more in the area of intelligence sharing and gathering so as to curb this cancerous disease called bokoharam that is gradually becoming a Phenomenon in Nigeria. i will say kudos to the army officers dat detected dose explosives.
well said

For once I agree with your analysis. Not the whole thing but the spirit of it. BM is just a vehicle some northern politicians want to use to get back to power post-Jonathan.They will fail but we even pray that there will be a Nigeria to rule by then
ah

Boko haram's mission is not really for now. it is for 2015/2019

just like MEND started around 2002-2004 but got jonathan to power 2011

right now there job is just to frustrate jonathan government and to put fear, pain into people's lives

same was do by MEND and OPC

so coming 2015/2019 u would have no choice but to vote for who BH chooses

which was what EDwin clark used MEND for to put jonathan in place

but lets see if the country would last till then

ABUJA-State governments and Organised Private Sectors, OPS, in the South East geo-political zone have concluded arrangements to convene a major economic summit for development a road map for the economic transformation of the region.

A facilitator of the summit, Prince Okechukwu Nwadinobi, who is also President of Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, ECCIMA, explained that the project was part of the resolve and determination to lift the near comatose economy of the South East geo-political zone and reposition it to meet present and future challenges.

Prince Nwadinobi said the summit, with the theme, “Creating a 21st Century Economy for South East Nigeria,” will come up between July 20 and 22, 2011, in Enugu.

According to him, “economic and political experts have been assembled from both within and outside Nigeria to participate in the summit.”
