Beaf,
You are just arguing for the sake of defending Jonathan no matter what. I am also from the niger delta but I see no difference between OBJ, Yar adua, Shagari or even the Military jauntas in between. Jonathan has not brought anything new, we have been hearing of removal of subsidy, privatization, liberalization, generation of so many MW of electricity, etc, since IBB days. So believe me subsidy removal policy is not a masterstroke as you want us to believe.

You are also deaf to the other side's reasoning, what we are saying Is;
1. Stop corruption or at least reduce corruption within the oil industry, then we can actually know what the actual subsidy is and then discuss its removal or not.

2. Have proper laws governing the petroleum industries so we can know who is responsible for what in the oil industry.

3. Put in place necessary structures like alternative transportation means, adequate power and alternative energy sources before you deregulate fully.

On the argument that people should hold their local and state government accountable, you choose to forget that we are operating a unitary system, the federal government control the police, electric power, petroleum and mineral resources, almost everything. The feds determines if and when you will enter University. In fact asking people to hold local governments is a joke, the local governments are just errant boys of the state governments, they get their funds from the state and are appointed and sacked at will by the governors.

Thank you. May Allah grant your wishes.

Please maybe you can talk to beaf to not sell his soul just because of money

Where is your friend Beaf? I heard he's protesting in Kano, grin grin grin grin grin

Beaf is not my friend

He is an enemy of the state, an enemy of the people of Nigeria

He is a bigot and refers to Northerners, middle belt, edo, and South-westerners as Parasites

No way would someone that incites hate, tribalism and hardship of Nigerians be a friend of mine.

I will resign from this cabinet if the removal of fuel subsidy is reversed” Ngozi Okonjo Iweala Tells Johnathan

Mrs Ngozi Okonjo Iweala the honourable minister of Finance who also doubles as the co-ordinating minister of the Economic Council has on wednesday during the first FEC meeting in 2012 threatens to quit the cabinet if perhaps president Jonathan should bows to pressure and reversed the removal of fuel subsidy.”

Bandit C.:

Do you even know what the multiplier effect denotes, when and how it takes place? People would be making use of economic jargon they have no idea what it actually means or how it is applied all in the name of sounding smart. Na wao.

Professor Bandit nwanne, please explain to us what multiplier effect means

Because what benimorgu said was absoulely right

In economics, a multiplier is a factor of proportionality that measures how much an endogenous variable changes in response to a change in some exogenous variable.

For example, suppose a one-unit change in some variable x causes another variable y to change by M units. Then the multiplier is M.

I knew the earlier posting about her treaths was a lie, there should be a better improved monderation on this forum in the past 4 weeks I have seen some juvenile and immature postings on this forum. I blame the moderator not the hoaxer. At the end of the day subsidy has to go, no country on earth that do not reform, either you carry-on the way you are and be dam or try something new and progressive. It is only GEJ presidency that can do it at this time because he doesn't need any vote as he will not be seeking re election than a president to come in the future that will be looking forward for re election thereby ducking the issues. So stop making the finance minister the scap goat. I'm not a fan of neither the president nor the finance I just wantU the best for the country. More so Buhari should stop whinging about the competency of GEJ, the election is over at this time no amount of whingeness is going to changed anything at least until 2015, some of his friends in this forum should tell the old general so. Everyone that loves this country should fall behind the president for sake of the country that is how is done all over democratic world.

Can you get off the high horse and stop posting like a mo.ron (sorry to say). If you truly love this nation then you would be on the side of the masses not Mr President. There is no President in Nigeria history that has not gone through similar protest so stop thinking like a bigot and reason like a Nigerian. Buhari has not whined about anything. He simply told Jonathan to not remove the subsidy for NOW until the necessary infrastructures are in place to accommodate the increase in commodities alongside fuel.

If you are a true Nigerian and not beclouded by tribalism or such pettiness, you would see the reason why Millions of other Nigerians are protesting for and even dying for. We are not stu.pid neither are beclouded, the simple thing we are asking the FG to do was not done before the removal of the subsidy thus the FG has not done anything for Nigeria. This we can say we benefit nothing from the FG that is why we are protesting.

If a rumour or even a report is out about Iweala and she comes out to disclaim it what is wrong in that ? Why do you and others with no brains chose to talk about the rumour rather than the message ?

Or is there anything wrong in a report coming out and the person the report is about disclaiming it ? Why not grow up Ok !

What you fools who think only you are in possession of brains to UNDERSTAND SUBSIDY don't get is that Nigerians are not totally in disagreement of the removal but are against the sharp cut-over without any cushion or palliatives to accommodate the sudden shock. What the VOODOO ECONOMISTS should have advised Jonathan is a GRADUAL/PHASED implementation! This is after providing a bit of evidence as regards social/economic infrastructure like "Work-in-Progress" Refineries etc etc.

I seems like some you people have eyes but cannot read. Or maybe just blinded by bigotry to even reason like human. Imagine some even called us Parasites just because we are not oil producing and we are protesting.

1. It is not about GEJ

2. He should have things on ground before the removal

3. after the removal, what exactly is the job of the FG then ?

4. Why not reduce the cost of governance that is taking 70% of our IGR instead of the removal

5. Why is Iweala talking as if she does not know the inflation that would follow.

6. EVERY SINGLE NIGERIAN SUPPORTS THE REMOVAL OF SUBSIDY but would never support the removal now based on the fact that nothing is on ground for the government to spend the money recovered from the so called "subsidy" . thus they have no case.

7. Why has he not asked the EFCC to probe Madueke of the 20 million euro house she bought in austria ?

This has NEVER BEEN BECAUSE OF GEJ or whatever some bigots term to called it. It has always been a protest of accountability and honesty. It has been the protest of the masses on the street trying to figure out how they would be able to afford ONE meal a day based on this increment without substance or accountability.

subsidy still has to go anyway whether we like it or not but the FG is not doing anything about infrastructural before the removal of the subsidy.

Deregulation worked in Aviation industry, Telecom, Banking sector, Broadcasting etc. These industries has not only grown in Nigeria but we now export them to other West African countries. For instance, GLO is in Ghana, Benin republic etc and employ Nigerians. We have Silverbird and Ovation in Ghana. Nigerians work there. Arik air flies all west african countries and beyond. Nigerian banks are everywhere in West Africa and beyond. All these sector employ Nigerians both within and outside the country. I believe the same thing will happen in the oil sector if deregulated. Unfortunately, most Nigerians don't know that GEJ is doing the right thing

We deregulated diesel in 2002-2003. Has our diesel sector improved ?

What is the price of diesel today ?

We are not protesting against the removal of subsidy. It has not go anyway

We are protesting for accountability and honesty. We all want subsidy to go but to where when the FG has no project and 70% of our revenue still goes to senators and co.
