As borders were closed, Nigeria also announced a decision on to scrap oil subsidies. That has affected bordering Cameroon town that have relied on Nigeria for petro supply.

Over the years, smuggling of fuel from Nigeria for sale in areas within in Cameroon has been on the rise especially due to better prices.

For those who claim is only the shutting down of border

it is like we have ideeiot in Nigeria

Beaf you are such a lair

JamesDoe:

@ the lying Psycophants

It was the closing of the borders caused by GEJ's incompetence to 1) manage our borders and customs properly and 2) stop terrorism.

You are truly the worst type of human being that exists. People like you are often executed by their handlers once they realise that you have lied to them about what the masses think.

When people like you go to bed each night, I am sure they think: "is it tonight that the people come for me?"

Thank you

Stop convulsing . . .Dig up all ma subsidy related post and educate yourself . . . i support subsidy removal in a graded and a phased manner . .i don't belong to your clan who feels subsidy must remain by all means possible . . . . and the mode of implementation; i do not support and am not scared of airing my stand . .and i don't still give a shyte about your crying general . .that is my stand

What is the crying general all about

how does subsidy=crying general it makes no sense unless you just want to jab Buhari but this has nothing to do with buhari and I am no longer a buhari supporter since he is not the president.

Ok if that is ur stance then good

jmaine:

Just listen to yourself . . .so private companies must solely depend on assured free meals to remain afloat . .and their happiness must continuously be oiled with their greed and corrupt tendencies . . .Their happiness must be serviced with a status quo that benefits only them void of any open market competition . .

Guy . .drop your quaky fingertips and reason devoid of unnecessary bile . . .

My guy, I am saying one thing, you are saying another. Who said the government should not remove subsidy ? Have there been any infrastructure to suggest that the money recovered from subsidy would be used on whatever you were made to believe ?

Are we not saying the same thing about the government to stop paying the the so called thieves ? But private companies reserve the right to protest if the deal does not favour them OK !!!. If you and YOUR GOVERNMENT  are angry about it may be you should have though twice about removing subsidy without refinaries for NNPC and other governmental oil companies to leach on. Dude really you are not making sense.

jmaine:

What business is the government closing   . . .There is more under the hood things you are not telling us . .  do you earn a living with those leaching fuel marketers  undecided  . . .Your energy source is becoming more clearer  grin

Yes the government is closing those oil companies indirectly since they are labelled as thieves or you mean the government wants these companies to keep running even though they are thieves ?

I am an ordinary citizen and I believe the government is not open to us. 900 billion was the fuel susidy fuel calculated using the FG figures, but all of a sudden the FG arrived at 1.3 tr naira

who is fooling who ?

Government only wants to sell fuel at international price. It is not the same as subsidy. They are trying to deceive us. Why not pay workers international standard minimum wage.

thank you

One can now see how hypocritic and the worst selfishness in most "nigerians" when it come to self gains/loss. Recently houndreds of innocent citizens have been murdered in their homes, market places and churches by islamic jihadist and apparently the government is aware the godfathers financing them to murder our "fellow country men/women and children", yet no one cares at all to demonstrate and demand the government to bring the so called godfathers to justice, but are quick to come online to spew their ignorance or jump out in the street to demonstrate. Can those organizers not start by demonstrating first to get justice for innocents who were murdered for no other reason than being not muslims?THIS IS NOTHING BUT HYPOCRISY AND SELFISHNESS IN THE HIGHEST ORDER. TUFIAKWA!

don't be stu.pid.

It is not only Christians that were killed but also Muslims. How hard can comprehension be ?

musiwa,,.:

first of all igbo people will not support on resource control because the igbos have nothing to control. the igbo people depend on the federal govt. akwa ibom have no oil on land,   so what will akwa ibom be controlling.   do you think fake oil derivation is resource control.  or blowing up of oil pipeline going to kaduna is what they are claim they have oil in bayelsa state,     basically I have said. bayelsa i doubt make 14 billion naira to the govt of nigeria each month.

Oloribiri is a dead oil field.  those people shouting resource control did not see the satellite pictures of Nigeria before shouting.  they assume they have alot of oil. and did not know that  tinubu  and oil marketers were only playing game with them.

Are you minding them, they want out. Walihi if after 20 years the oil in there region finishes and all of a sudden, they want to be part of Nigeria again the kind of treatment they would recieve.,.,.,.,

Now we are talking to them to grow some brains and think like humans not like goats that have to be beaten before going the right way

Superstory . . . .The populace would not wait for any money bag to protest . .that was too cheap abeg . . .meanwhile . . .any fuel marketer funding protest is a saboteur and leaves much room for suspicion . . . If caught should be dealt with  . . .

What is happening ? I though you were pro-removal of subsidy without anything on ground. All of a sudden you have changed your stance ?

Why should they be dealt with when the policy does not favour them ? Is it their fault that the government does not know how a run a company ?

Even in different countries, if a government want to close down a business, and protests are sponsor by Heads of the companies, they reserve the rights to organise a protest. because they are private companies.
