Gbawe: My brother , the ball is in the Court of the PDP and OBJ . It is OBJ and SW PDP , not the SW , who wants the Position for one of his South West PDP cronies . Ajibola is an unapologetic OBJ disciple . As is usual , and because the PDP is a Party of criminals and mediocre politicians, there is now only rubbish available to pick from as per the PDP Reps who can vie for the office of Speaker. The ACN caucus leader is therefore right to speak as he does . It is a tacit warning that it might be better for the SW not to gain the Speaker position than for us to recieve it via an imposition of OBJ who is ostensibly a poor legislator resented by his colleagues . I would rather not have a speaker from the SW than gain another bankole who , in 4 years, will be deemed a disgrace to the SW region. okay, it is quite interesting |
Politics › Re: Yoruba,Igbo and hausa :One Nigeria by aljharem3: 11:43am On May 16, 2011 |
ShangoThor: Personally speaking, there isn't a problem when it comes to acknowledging and respecting diversity amongst the populace.
However, accepting that a few ethnic groups that perceive themselves as being religiously distinctive, have a recurring right to perpetrate 'murder en masse' due to the alleged existence of a political grievance is akin to burying ones head in the sand.
I say shame on all Nigerians that prop up this fake notion of national consciousness, for we (as we are all responsible) have managed to build a National psyche that tolerates inter-communal intolerance.
A lot of the problems that exist in Nigeria today stem from the fact that we lack OBJECTIVITY as a nation. When a problem occurs people would rather paper over the cracks or sweep the cobwebs under the carpet.
So what are we talking about here, slapping each other over the back and forgetting the catastrophic inhumane fate of all those just killed during the elections, and thanking the lord that no members of our family were slaughtered? Or is it more pertinent to just passively wait for the next set of events that will spark off more mass killings in the country?
The bottomline is that if the country (Nigeria) does not stand for justice, common decency, legality, transparency, protection of individual civil liberties, security and the promotion of prosperity of all the citizenry then bleep the country because there is absolutely no point in flogging a dead horse. u are back u never give up with ur southern crap u were posting before |

How many states in the north did CPC control ? the people are tried, we are suffereing day and night no electricity no water no school no job this are the things people want, Buhari was never popular in the north as a saint before people just loved him because he looked like a person that would remove them from the shckles of poverty i personally did not love buhari before but after this election, my love for him changed how many states did pdp have in the SW and NOrth ? but yet he won in the SW inculing lagos a acn strong hold and lost in the north including borno a pdp strong hold |

I really don't think that the game will last till 2015. The north is eager to impeach Jonathan, and SE may play along. I don't like it but I may hold my nose to support it. No one will impeach jonathan because the people that are meant to impeach him are buzy stealling with him SE (igbos) should relax and let him (GEJ) do what he has promised to do for the SE then they can form a regional party IF SE POLITICANS LEAVE NOW, THEY WILL LOSE EVERYTHING FACT!!! |

mikeansy: ACN need another 20years before they can produce President of Nigeria. Except they immediately evolve from regional party to National party you are very wrong my brother, ACN is well popular and known in the north we the masses love ACN, the only problem is the Tinubu. Once they take power away from tinubu, you will be very surprise moreover, fashola can change to PDP any time and he will still be voted for more in the north than even in the SW best believe it |

Now if your pass time is to spend time maligning 5/7 of that population where will the support to gain the Presidency come from? will you pluck the votes from air? gbammmmmmmmmm fashola/sambo 2015 fashola/ sanusi 2019 fashola/ NE 2015-2019 anyone of the above will do watch the events after GEJ term Insha Allah, fashola will rule this country next |

Onlytruth: In a way, this political development is the catalyst needed for something to happen in Nigeria. Of course the elected members from SE can also decide to seat comfortable and ignore the yearnings of Ndigbo back home, but they can be assured that they will lose their return and their relevance. There is a political vacuum now in Igboland. I know for a fact that it won't last because someone will step forward to lead us out of the mess.
Ikedi Ohakim never believed that he would not be Imo state governor for another four years. We can sustain the same momentum and kick out all the reps if they fail to fight in defense of our dignity.
We are either Nigerians or we must leave Nigeria. We cannot continue to shoulder the burden of Nigeria's unity. orji kalu https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-667027.0.html |

Onlytruth: I must also say that we have a job to do in Igboland, and that is to educate our people about Nigeria.
I have never seen a group so naive and innocent about their own country as Ndigbo. What they see as "being nationalistic" is what others see as being st00pid and naive. I see them even on this forum, trying to tell us that Ndigbo are not being maligned and cheated openly in their own country. If an Igbo is not in consideration for any of the top 3 positions in Nigeria (as one of the three largest ethnic groups in Nigeria, YES WE ARE!) what makes you think that a minority customs officer at the wharf won't sit on your containers as if you can do sh^%t about it? That is what these Igbo peeps fail to understand.
It is either we are treated as one of the MAJOR stake holders in Nigeria, or we should really go home and sit down to figure out how to leave Nigeria altogether. @ onlytruth my brother i am not sure of the majority statues of igbos ooo but i have read all you posted and you are very right there is nothing wrong in supporting our ss brother, the only problem is the powers within (ibb, ciroma, obj, sultan, emirs, etc) this people are powerful and have warned jonathan, this are the people ruling nigeria jonathan has no choice but to listen to them because this are the people that made buhari loss |
