Thats to show how desperate and hungry he is. And desperate people dont perform. Because "the empty barrel makes d most sound". Activist pastor, Tunde Bakare, has hit back at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for its attack on former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasir El-Rufai for re-tweeting a Jesus joke that sparkeda huge controversy. Speaking during the State of the Nation address at his church on Sunday, Mr. Bakare, a pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly, said CAN was “feeding on mass neurosis and widening the gap between people of different faiths in our country” by referring to the former minister as a bigot. Mr Bakare, who sees nothing wrong in the tweet which he described as “figurative”, said CAN by its selective attack on Mr. El-Rufai who is a Muslim, only confirms the accusation by the Catholic Church that CAN had become a tool in the hand of government. “It is rather unfortunate that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) that should bring understanding to the simple on matters like this has chosen to confirm its description by the Catholic Church as an arm of the government in power by fanning the propaganda of agents of the administration that Nasir El-Rufai is a “bigot” for a statement that did not originate from him and whose meaning should be clear to a non-mischievous person.” Mr Bakare further suggested that CAN’s reaction, coming after the former minister had apologised, is un-Christian: “It must be pointed out that CAN’s bellicose posture came after El-Rufai publicly apologized for the re-tweet. Jesus Christ, who asked the Father to forgive those who nailed Him to the cross when they didn’t even acknowledge they did anything wrong, must be wondering what those who are supposed to be His servants are doing in His name to a man who asked for forgiveness.” He described CAN’s silence on the revelation by a former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, that the present administration had squandered the country’s foreign reserve and excess crude account savings, as “sinful”. Speaking on the withdrawal of the Catholic Church from CAN at the national level, he described the argument by CAN’s leadership that the Catholics pulled out because they lost the election to a Pentecostal pastor as “shallow.” He continued, “Let’s have a roll call ofpast CAN Presidents to debunk this flimsy assertion: 1. The Founding President of CAN: Eminence Dominic Cardinal Ekanem of the Methodist Church. Neither the Catholics nor any other group withdrew during his tenure; 2. He was succeeded by Bishop Olubunmi Okogie – a Catholic. No group withdrew during his tenure; 3. Followed by Sunday Mbang of the Methodist Church – the Catholics did not withdraw, nor did any other group; 4. Then Jasper Akinola of the AnglicanChurch – No withdrawals; 5. Then John Onaiyekan – a Catholic. No group has ever withdrawn.” “Indeed we have “promoted” men into leadership positions both in the Church and the nation beyond their mental capacities and the incompetence are now very glaring to the whole world except the leaders themselves, or how do you categorize our using ring worm medicine to cure leprosy?” “The reason the Catholic bloc gave fortheir withdrawal – namely that “CAN is being dragged into partisan politicsthereby compromising the ability to play its true role as the conscience of the nation and the voice of the voiceless” was never addressed – rather the shallow response of their losing election to one of us became “the badge of honour” we wear on our oversize Episcopal garments. Shame! Big Shame!!” http://premiumtimesng.com/news/118872-pastor-bakare-blasts-can-over-attack-on-el-rufai.html |

West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie has been told not to return to training until next week. The 31-year-old tried to force a move to QPR on transfer deadline day. Speaking outside the West Brom training ground on Friday, Odemwingie said: “I have been given a few days offand will be back in training next week.” Odemwingie met with club board members Dan Ashworth and Richard Garlick and head coach Steve Clarke on Friday morning and will miss Sunday’sgame against Tottenham Hotspur. Afterwards, a statement from the club said: “After the events of the past week, the club decided it is in the best interests of all parties that Peter is not involved in Sunday’s game and he was given permission to return home.” However, although Odemwingie regrets his actionsin travelling to London, he insists his long-term future remains away from The Hawthorns. “I am a very emotional person who sometimes doesn’t think,”he told Sky Sports News on Friday. “I will still leave the club. It is only a matter of time.” Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace accused Odemwingie of acting unprofessionally over the apparent attempt to open talks without the club’s permission. But although Odemwingie admitted he was perhaps a “little unprofessional” he defended himself by claiming the circumstances were not so different to when he joined West Brom from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2010 for £2.5m. He also put Thursday’s actions down to a misunderstanding. “I came to this club (West Brom) in a wholly unprofessional way. I wasn’t given any written permission by Lokomotiv Moscow but I arrived at this club. I did a medical, I don’t think everything went so professional when I arrived,” he added. Clarifying his comments, he said: “I’m saying that these things don’t matter so much when adults are dealing with each other. “I think there was a misunderstanding somewhere because I could have held my goodbyes to the [West Brom] players if I was told it is not going to happen.” Odemwingie felt he had been given the go-ahead from West Brom to complete his move to QPR, but conceded he did not have written permission. He had appeared optimistic that a deal could be reached when he was interviewed on his arrival in west London on Thursday. “I hope they will be happy with what they get and, of course, they want to get in players themselves. I just hope that everything will be sorted out in the next few hours,” he told Sky Sports News at the time. But Odemwingie said on Friday: “They [West Brom] didn’t give me written permission, but you know we are in England and when you’re gentlemen you understand each other so easily. “In my opinion, everything wasdone right and at the last moment, I don’t know what really happened, but I think other people can answer this question as well. “We were almost there, the club were angry that I went there and it was on TV. They weren’t angry that I went there, but when it came up on TV that’s when they said that this deal is off and why did I dothat. “So I understand the club to be honest, it was a bit unprofessional but we all knowour positions and we were almost there. “I understand I have to honour any contract but the club knowI have wanted to leave for some time now. “They feel I can overcome that but they are not the ones who know their own heart. They believe while I am struggling I can keep performing on the pitch.” QPR manager Harry Redknapp said he felt sorry for Odemwingie and suggested Junior Hoilett’s decision not to go on loan from QPR to West Brom was one reason why any potential move broke down. “The whole thing was a bit of amess. I felt genuinely sorry for him. I think there was a mistake. He travelled down and I think he thought the dealwas done and that is why he turned up. “I think he thought ‘I better getdown, have the medical, sign the forms’ – it was just a mistake. It is now difficult as hehas to go back to West Brom and get on with his life. “It wasn’t easy. He is not a bad lad, he is a nice, nice boy and that is what disturbed me last night, that he got himself into that situation and there was nothing sort of malicious in it.” http://www.channelstv.com/home/2013/02/01/west-brom-bans-odemwingie-from-training/ |

Well, it all depends on your personal contentment. Success they say is a matter of view point. The optimist sees the bottle as half full, while the pesimist sees the bottle as half empty. Good luck. |

The next generation will not forgive Okorocha for his present policies in imo state if he doesn't adjust now. Okorocha is turning Imo state to consumer oriented state rather than producer orienteddepending solely on federal allocation. Racall that he has made education at all levels more than even free for imolites, by paying huge allowances to all students. He is also payiing higher than the national miniumum wage to civil servants. Okorocha gives free 10 liter of fuel 2 some keke napep users everyday, okorocha exempted some so called investors from tax, among other. Imolites arehappy with these developments. But i must tell u that okorocha is seriously killiing imo economy, because he has blocked the way fordirect techical skill aquisition (vocational skills) which is one of the keys to economic devoloment. He has lured imolites away from thier potentials of creativity since most youths who had potentials of vocational skill aquisition are now pushing their minds towards the conventional schools just for tokens. Am assuring u dat by the time most of these youths will gradute Okorocha will not be there to employ them as he is seriously aspiring to be in aso rock. Oshiomole is a true democrat and lover of his people. Who always listen to the voice of the commons. But he is the kind who says yes to whatever the people say. But that is not what we need in this presentNigeria. Fashola on the other side, is creative and innovative. He understands nigerians. He knows that nigerians needs coession force or let me say the "carrot and stick" approach before they can obey simple instructions. He knows nigerian democracy should somtime be like jungle democracy where the leader should somtimes be radical. And thats what we need in this presents nigeria. Am not campaigning for Fashola, but If he'sto become the president of Nigeria 2day, am sure he can transform dis country for good with his radical policies. Thumbs up for Babatunde Raji Fashola. For those who believe in God, no explanation is neccessary, and for those who do not belive in God, no explanation is Possible. |

Chima_Adeoye: JTF should publish some gsm phone numbers the public can call or text to report suspicious activity. The worst situation is that people see these BH terrorists but have no way of alerting the authorities.then u the reporter be tagged as their P.R.O |
@ seun an co dont pretend u didnt notice this guy all dis while o. |
I use to praise the JTF whenever i hear news like this, untill the recent raid by the JTF in abuja. When i realised that 99% of the arrest made by JTF are of innocent citizens. After the reported attacks on SARSs' office by Boko boyz, the JTF stormd some nearby housing estates in Apo, arresting any aboki boy on the street. It was a sorry for these poor guyz especially for some whom i knw 2 be labourers and "mey ruwa" (truck pusher). 2 of my neighbours would have fall victims of this while they were on their way to the mosque, if not for people who heard them screeming and shouting before they pleaded on their behalf and testify they are resident. |
