There's a glimmer of hope for Nigeria's future, with each of us on a path to achieve what we're meant to be. Yet, our progress is hampered by widespread "greed" and "selfishness". For real advancement, we need to bring in experts and technocrats to lead and manage our resources, not just politicians like Tinubu, Atiku, Peter Obi etc.

Let's consider a shift to a governance system that only maintains "Representatives" (scraping governors and presidents), where only the most qualified individuals serve as commissioners, ministers and other key officials, similar to how we select foreign coaches for their expertise in football. Our "elected" members of House of Representatives would oversee and protect our interests, ensuring that those with technical expertise cannot exploit our resources for personal gain. Those Reps will do well in protecting our resources from being exploited by foreign technocrats but can't do nothing to protect themselves from stealing from it.

The challenge we face is not a lack of talent; our continent is home to some of the most brilliant minds, it's just that we're very bad at "leadership" due to our pervasive culture of greed and self-interest. All the leaders we have been voting for (including their commissioners, ministers etc) have been more concerned with securing their children’s futures than with building a nation for all.

I never voted or supported Tinubu. I only decided to keep politics aside and support the one who ended up as our President rather than wailing up and down for 8 years.
