I have a friend from school, we were so close back then in school. She was reserved and homely, but suitors weren't coming. She was so worried about the whole thing to a point, she became desperate to settle down yet no serious guy.

After graduation, she decided to say yes to any guy that comes her. Someone linked her up with this dude and after some months he proposed to her. My friend wasn't interested in the guy's attitude or anything, she just wanted to get married. The date for trad was fixed and they got married, after 3 months she left the guy that she can't live with him. I told her if i were to be her dad,she will remain in that marriage cause i warned her.

My dear, God will bring the right husband at the right time. Don't put your life on hold just to please the people around you. Live your life in all fulness & don't allow such to bother. Yes, you're ripe for marriage but it will come when the time is right , but for now perpare yourself while you pray for the right guy. Work on your flaws to make yourself the right woman, travel if you have the resources. Make yourself very pleasant to the eyes, socialise, dress smart, hang out with friends just live your normal life. Whether we like it or not, God has the finally say in every aspect of our lives all we need to do is to do our part and leave the rest to Him.

Elechi Amadi wrote some science fiction in his book, 'sunset in Biafra'.He wrote of people who want an end to their lives taking a machine av forgotten the name but like tele-something and they fly away and not seen again.

Wen I was lil. My elder bro d 1st born married n his wife gave birth to a set of twins. Dey wer so cute. One died immediately after birth. N d other some weeks later. I cried n prayed God did not answer me.

I was born into a family of 4. I am d last born. 8 yrs ago d 3rd born took ill, we did everything, we prayed , we spent a lot n yet he died at the hospital. 3 yrs after his death, my sis was ill too, we went for several scans d doctors cld not diagnose what's wrong with her, a year after, she died to after so much prayer by d entire church. Still God did nt ansa.
My dad was hrt broken, my mum was miserable, my sis was d only girl in d family, n yet God did not answer our prayers.

But still he is a loving God, he cares for me, he loves me, all that happened are but for a while, I miss dem here on earth, I know someday we will meet again. No matter what will happen. Nothing will ever take away my bliv in God.

Tho we pass tru tribulation all will be well
Free and changeless is his mercy all all is well
On our fathers love relying, Jesus every need supplying
den in living or in dying all must be well.

You first of all put us in suspense.Yet God is good.Am encouraged by your sharing.It is well with you and yours.Amen.

He says eventually his turn Pastor Benny Hinn came and the pianist knew Pastor Benny and smiled at him in admiration of his record amongst the people on earth but when Jesus looked at Benny Hinn, his look could tell that he was not impressed with Pastor Benny Hinn, and Pastor Hinn says his trembling and fear had increased knowing that he would not be able to make it through that gate and when Jesus was about to make his decision, he woke up and God said to him
"Don't blow up this time, this is your second chance"

Pastor Benny Hinn then explained something that every long serving christian need to take note of.
He said all through his ministry, he had two ministry duties, one was to serve the people with his gift that God has given him ie preaching and performing miracles and the other ministry was his personal walk with God ie. his fellowship with God on everyday basis.

He says but from 2010 as he passed through a divorce, his relationship with God became dead and God was far away from him. He says through the divorce he lost about 7 million dollars and his house and his relationship with God was gone totally.

The amazing thing is that he says when he knew that he is no longer with God, he saw many miracles in his ministry. He says that, because he is a great pretender so he pretended before the people as if he is with God and yet he was not.(remember the gifts of God are without repentance that is to say whether you are with God or not the gift will still work, but to enter the gate of heaven, it will be your relationship with God ie your right standing and steadfastness with God through Jesus Christ)

As to pretence, it is not only Pastor Benny Hinn but any long serving christian becomes used to the things of God and eventually pretence becomes his everyday walk before the people and one minds more of the degree and opinion that the crowds hold on him than what God says"
Pastor Benny Hinn now condemns the SELLING of anointing oils and holy waters and any thing of God that today pastors sell in churches to make money.

He says since God has given him a second chance, his focus is no longer on the crowds and their opinions but on his personal relationship with God so that he will enter that heavenly gate.
The question is if Pastor Benny Hinn was trembling and sweating at the gate in fear that he would not make it, what about you when you will face Christ?

If we think because of our long serving in the church, post in the church, attendance, preaching, works or miracle performances, I think Benny Hinn has out done most of us and yet God's acceptance at the gate is not based on these.

"PHILIPPIANS 2:12 says Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."

God has not given Pastor Benny Hinn alone this second chance but he has given this second chances to the whole body of christ world wide to walk home into his arms through his grace and mercy before the door closes which is very short
I will only believe when i wacth Pastor Benny say this himself in any of his messages.Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Jesus is the name of the virgin birth by Mary in the bible.It was however Heaven that named him Christ meaning the anointed one.It is however not a sin to name a child Jesus.But it will be a sin i think if a person calls himself Christ Jesus thereby impersonating Christ for he alone is God

I have experienced first hand the fraud and deciet that some of this pastors do. I have even had a bad experience from one big general overseer whose mentor is Benny hinn. When I read negative stories about this man I know its the truth, because my eyes have seen first hand deciet from this MOG. That not withstanding, I do not appreciate the fact that an atheist (Seun) opens a thread or pushes a thread to front page as a subtle way of mocking Christianity.
Whether today we have fake pastors or not it was Christianity that brought light to Nigeria. It was the missionaries that came in to build hospitals, schools and many other good things we enjoy today that pushed the dark African tradition away and gave way to churches. Our fathers embraced Christianity because it was good. We didn't need to go to a native doctor anymore to appease the gods when we fell sick.
That some people aka fake pastors rise up daily to try and deceive us doesn't mean that till today that there are no good and honest christian leaders, evangelists doing God's work in truth and according to God's way.
Seun I saw your post yesterday on fifty shades of Chris oyakilome. I am not his fan though. Then today this, if this continues I will have no choice than to deregister and leave Nairaland for good.
And yes God exists!

@Thesixthsense for the first time in a while I will disagree with you even though I agree with certain portions of your writeup but the whole message is wrongly packaged and would rather create chaos in the body and not light.

Peronally thr book " Goodmorning Holy Spirit" helped me in my early Christian days but I learnt early to balance everything using Scriptures from the Bible so I filtered every book using the Bible.

I had to understand the value of thr Holy spirit before I sought for Him and received the baptism of the Holy ghost and the gifts of word of knowledge, gift of faith and working of miracles.

What your message should have focused on is on motive! Why do we do what we do? Why do we seek what we seek? There are many true believers under the tutelage of Benny Hinn and many who have come from Oral Roberts...People like the Late Benson Idahosa who I came from are examples.

Benny Hinn seeking the anointing on Kathryn could have been based on desire and belief that if Same could happen between Elijah and Elisha then he could get same.

Some people are redical with desire but how you would know they are on track are by their fruits or via discernment. Your switching off moment has happened a lot to me as well but I do not let that give me an "I am better than you" attitude or an "I am holier than you" attitude. I rather channel my strenght towards praying for them even more and not bashing them.

Not everything about a mans walk with God is open for us to see but his manifestations are and yes sometimes God can demand a seed for a harvest and the Holy spirit can witness same to many others listening and they would jump on it but if you switched off at that point how are you sure u were not being either emotional or the seed time was not for you at that time?

Surely you have sown in other places...surely you have given to the needy....Sowing for a believer is not to be seen as sowing but as giving. ..God is not a gambler.

its not too late to take down the thread. The whole essence of our message is Love and not division and further divisions. All you have written here has been captured by Paul in much of his books in the bible so let those with the spirit of the berean Christians read it and allow the Holy Spirit to open their eyes to the truth.

This platform is a mixed multitude platform and the owner being an atheist has quickly pushed this to front page and I believe that it may be a ploy to further say .."I was right..the church is messed up" and you are encouraging it.

i am sure of Billy Graham.His messages are electrifying from start to finish.Do you have MYTV, check out the Billy Graham Classics on any network that broadcasts his sermons and you will be drunk in spirit.Also watch the Jimmy Swaggart Classics on SBN international...i have taste so i may not listen to other men of God u listed but they are believers too my brother..The Jimmy Swaggart classics are filled with people being filled with the Holy Ghost though Billy Graham in his messages are more concerned about salvation.It is still one ministry bro.They are doing the same thing.

I sensed that his story couldn't be all lies. I believed he was honest for most parts, particularly when he said christians are heartless because if they knew and believed in hell they would go out on evangelism and I know only someone that has seen that reality to can say such. He also said God is wicked because many people would eventually die unsaved, the majority even, despite his efforts and honest desire to try to reach people for God. Another emotional part was that of the blind man who although he believed 'Jesu I believe...' still didn't receive his healing.

However, one thing I recurrently spotted from his account was pervasive pride. He was still proud of his 'achievements' despite his fall away. So many 'I' performed miracles, I was 'so good' at convincing people (he didn't know that it is God that calls His own), 'I' had the gift of 'word of knowledge' I did this, I did that, 'by now I would have been a superstar'. What did Satan do again, before he got cast out of heaven? Couldn't be much different. My major concern about the whole thing is how many of his kind are still in ministry currently that are in their minds atheists but only continue because they make a living from the career.

His story had a positive effect on my christian walk because it caused me to look inwards, to re-examine and reflect on my motive for serving God is it for glorification of self, to grant my every need - sort of like a genie, not a Lord who owns me - why do I desire certain things from the Lord? Also his narration about fake miracles - particularly about the woman with cancer who although she identified being healed in church left for surgery but they lied by not telling the church members about her true condition - made me look deeper into pentecostalism and wasn't surprised to find that it thrives so much on emotionalism, easy-believism, extra-biblical revelations and activities that almost renders the bible obsolete and also opens the pandora's box of all sorts of occult and strange fire. How someone can confidently teach another a supposed gift of the Spirit is amazing, why then is it a gift?

However, I found that there are people who actually worship and adore God for who He is not because of what He can or would do for them, in fact these lot do not even ask for virtually anything yet they just give thanks. I certainly want to become like them. There is a stark difference in the character and lives of such christians that are many times in contrast with the always bubbly counterparts who usually delight in the gifts and not the Giver. They had a peace and joy not because of anything they have but because they know the Lord.

I also found that the best books on faith are usually written by martyrs and missionaries and certainly not from freemason wolves like Oral Roberts, Billy Graham, Kenneth Copeland, Rick Joyner, Jesse Duplantis, Mike Murdock, Joel Osteen and the bunch of them who appear in the 'word-of-faith new age money gospel' movement. A foundation built on deception and lies would certainly falter when the storms hit.

Cos many of those men of God on that list are people who have brightend their own corner and have passed on the baton to the next generation..Many of them have completed their assignments on earth.Pls i need clarification to proceed.

I think even in Biology i was taught humans are higher animals.And thus we are different from those lower animals cos we have complex brain and highly advanced than them.

I think you did not remember to put 'Higher Animals'-Yes when you are talking of field of science, you could talk as that but religiously, we are humans and far advanced than animals.Biology used the term 'Higher Animals' because it did not believe in creation of the bible.

We have clearly confirmed that there are those out to destroy our business, using falsehood and make belief as their tool.

For more than 3 months, a particular road crash involving one of our buses is being re-posted in facebook as a breaking news every week, to scare our passengers. Even when the federal road safety and the police reports absorbed us from blame on this particular accident.

On August 5, 2016 one bobsani.com blog posted that “a suspected Peace mass transit vehicle somersaulted into Meme Bridge”. When we called him to confirm his report, he apologized, that he was misled and we forgave him, even though the damage has been done.

On August 30, 2016 one jujufilms.tv “https://jujufilms.tv/?s=peace+mass+transit’’ on her website claimed that a PMT bus was involved in a road crash at Okada, Edo state. Till date we have not seen the said bus involved in this, he just posted a picture of a busy road, and used our hard earned name to attract traffic to her site or to satisfy whoever she is working for.

On September 6, 2016 one Afronews.com manipulated the picture of a Siena car, with a popular company’s logo that is not ours, with some lifeless bodies on the road and posted as breaking news, “a fatal accident involving Peace Mass Transit Bus”. We don’t own a Siena car, our logo and colour are known, but since they have not been able to manipulate our bus into a crash for some time now, and in desperation to earn some cash they decided to use self help by creating a fake one, may God continue to protect his children. This sponsored campaign of calumny has been on against us for over one year without our knowledge. They will create a fake accident and call on government agencies to ban Peace Mass Transit.

Another counsel may be a thought coming from the devil asking, what miracle have you received from God since you are born again?The answer is, every genuine child of God born again has received 'First Miracle' from God when they were saved.
In Luke5vs20-26, Verse 20 says 'man thy sins are forgiven thee.JESUS first of all healed him of his sins(First Miracle).What happens to a believer before he enjoys other blessings or even the firstfruit of gifts given unto us-The Holy spirit is that, he is healed of sins...Then Jesus in Verse24 says 'Arise, and take up thy couch and go into thy house'-he now healed him of his disease or sickness.That is exactly how believers are brought to Christ.The first miracle in which a man becomes a living soul(healed of his sins or first miracle) is what is demonsrated here in scriptures.Gen2vs7 says man became a living soul when a breath from God came into him(salvation of the soul or first miracle) then he now enjoys other blessings accompanying salvation.
A question may arise why are so many people not being healed in a church programme or convention during a programme?The answer is;
1.People want miracle of the body more than the first miracles of salvation of the soul when the man becomes a living soul.In Luke17vs11-19, 10 leprous men came to Jesus to be healed but only one went back to give thanks to Jesus.He was the only one who went whole.Others want healing on Credit
2.People want healing on credit.If statistics are taken of those that come to be healed in conventions/programmes are to be taken, many will want a quick fix but will not want to serve the God that healed them after getting to be healed.Wheras Jesus wants people who will praise him for saving them even though they are not healed in body, but have experienced the first miracles(which is being saved and becoming a living soul).
3. Most people looking for healing in their bodies, will not be like the three Hebrew children who said though our flesh may perish, yet our spirit & soul will make it to heaven.Most of those seeking for miracles of the body cannot praise God for healing their soul(salvation or first miracle).
Getting healed on credit is similar to what Jesus said when an evil spirit leaves a man, he gathers up other spirits wicked than he and will come into that man and the last state of the man is worse than the first state.When you are healed and do not come to give thanks, will not make the individual whole when he does not come back to give thanks-Luke17vs11-19.

They may have a differing idea of the Bible, but that doesn't make them a bloodletting bunch.

You know muslims and atheists may just persecute christians and are known for that, but JW people won't enter into life and are obstacles into others getting into heaven.They are the ones who enter into homes and make people captives and render them twice candidates of Hell.They are worse in the sense that muslims not all though(i mean religious extremists can be seen and avoided) but these people come in sheep's clothing but are like ravenous wolves disguised as true disciples and sweet tongues but full of poisonous snakes like adder and deceive people with their tongue cos you won't drag them away like extremists.

Truth be told, if you can adapt to Kano way of living I. e living in a Muslim community, if you can also stay away from home, the Kano can be a home far away from home. in my last post , someone asked me to compare Kahuna with Kano, the I haven't been to Kaduna , I just passed it. But I took time for the purpose of this post to go down to Kaduna and make a good finding, and I can tell you that Kano beats Kaduna hands-down.

Kano Is a big city home to most companies including dangote , there are diverse product in Kano than in other part of the country, there are companies, schools, hospitals, institutions in Kano. take a walk round Kano, submit your CVs and you will surely be called.

Apart from that, the business life in Kano is another advantage, they are about 3 million persons in Kano and as such a large market. if you have business mindset, am sure you will make money here in Kano. I have Corp members who import things from east and west and sell it in Kano. Also, you can learn many things, sewing, decorations etc in Kano almost free of charge. I don't know How else to talk about this, when you come, I think it will be so obvious.

Think about this, you can move things from Kano down to east or west, you can do many things. Just think of what you want. think of life after NYSC, just meditate on all these things. Kano is a fertile ground for you. yes you

Also, Evangelism is what Mark16vs15-end preaches...go into the world and preach while Matthew 28vs19-20 preaches Discipleship... To complete the great commission....Don't be like those that were asked by Jesus(Matthew20vs5-6) - the Householder what they were doing to which their reply was, 'NOBODY HIRED US'. A counsel may come to say, should i pay my Tithe(a Tithe is 10% of all incomes or gifts) or give it rather to charity because my Pastor is rich and I do not trust their accountability.
My reply is a counsel given by my former Pastor in my parents church.He said give to God and turn back never bother how it is being spent.This has been my philosophy and belief ever since.
Also, the bible says we should give without compulsion but willingly not grudgingly -2 Corinthians9vs6-end....and that sowing or giving will make us reap.
And for those saying if a believer refuses to give his Tithe no devourer will attack his income because the devourer has been stripped of his power already at the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.Well, for these modern cheap grace preachers, I say hope they recognize that believers who sin are just like those Job described as 'those who break the hedge, the Serpent will bite'.Yes the devil is stripped of his powers but that does not mean believers who sin are under the cover of Christ.NEVER! Read also Ezekiel18vs30...it says....'Therefore O house of Isreal, I will JUDGE you, each one according to his ways declares the Sovereign LORD.Repent!Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall'-NIV.He is speaking to Isreal which represents believers today and he likewise urge them to repent.Unless those grace preachers are saying Born again believers don't need to confess their sins(note, not habitual but occasional sin) again because of the death of Christ on the cross.

Cross River state government according to the news yesterday floated an ambitious Social Health Scheme.It was a news item on AIT.
Cross Riverians of not less than 18years according to the news will be required to pay ₦1000 monthly.
My question is where will an unemployed get such taxed levy not considering the economic downturn at present.
Please am wondering do these governors have flesh and blood in their bones?Please Nairalanders who watched or listened to the news or read this here what do you think?....

(2).Grace may not stop jugdement even instant Judgement as Eli's children were killed by God's anger against wickedness of man.Remember Annanias and Saphirra died for lying against the Holy Ghost.So many believers actually think God cannot be angry against them because of grace purchased through the blood of Jesus.God's cover over judgement are only for the faithful, the called and chosen who obey him consistently not those whose heart is not right wholeheartedly with God.
Actually, God will jugde even His people who are disobedient to his commands.
(3).Human heart is evil and desperately wicked so he would not want to turn to God.The human heart wants an independence off God.No wonder Adam and Eve abused their free-will and yielded to satan they could not even pray to God.I read however that when Nehemiah( in Nehemiah2) was to answer the King when he was sullen sad, he preayed silently unto God before he continued his conversation with the King.And God heard.Also David prayed to render the counsel of his former friend Ahitophel foolishness.God heard him too.At that moment where we are about to make that evil or disobedient decision that looks disturbing what if we make the small heart cry unto Him that is able to save and to save unto the uttermost.

We're talking the same thing then. Although, I kind of disagree with sin-consciousness vs God-consciousness thing. To be sin-conscious is to be God-conscious. when a believer knows a particular sin is a problem then they would ask God to help them overcome. It is also fulfilling to live a daily life of repentance.
For some of us that came from a close-to-numb conscience towards evil, that's how we are reminded that we still have the Holy Spirit. Because He through our conscience would convict us of sin we used to love doing. The bible says 'When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin' Lev 5:5. In context this is followed by sacrifice. But thank God no sacrifice is required anymore because of His grace.
Also, my proselytizing against sin is the unpopular message in Christianity today. Everyone here and the unsaved people I know have all heard about how Jesus loves them but, you'll agree with me that, that never moves them or anyone away from the life of sin. It never bothered me then and I doubt it would anyone. But I'm sure emphasising the consequences of sin and God's wrath in judgement would definitely help our society today, and deal with the conscience of those who hear such and still continue in sin even among christians.
God said to Ezekiel 'When I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die,' and you give him no warning from his wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.' Ezek 3:18
Another thing about the Pharisees, when you read in context you'll find that there was always a motive behind everything they said about or asked Jesus. They never asked just to know, they always asked so that they could accuse.

Thanks bro.Sin-consciousness is more like condemnation which Romans8vs1 says there is no more condemnation(law brings condemnation) for those who are in Christ Jesus(thinking within yourself you can overcome sin by meeting certain conditions and not allowing the work of grace to prevail) while God-consciousness is being occupied with Christ(grace- your meditation becomes feeding on the word of God and what he has done on the cross such that when you do this, you tremble and rejoice you are not under the law that enslaves but in grace enabled Christ).
