She said it is a terrible experience she wants to put behind her. The actress was arrested on Friday 18 December, this year, at Muri Busari Close, Oloti Village, Off Adeniji Jones in Ikeja, where she allegedly crushed a 16-month old boy, Damilola, to death with her Red Honda CR-V SUV with registration number FE589LND. https://news.onlinenigeria.com/articlefiles/12387-ogogo2b.jpg Sikiratu Sindodo She declined to give details about the whole saga saying it is not an issue to talk about now. When our reporter called her on her Glo line and insisted she should comment on her ordeal in police cell yesterday, she simply said: “It’s no big deal… and I won’t be able to talk about it even in the next one year.” When P.M.NEWS called her again at about 9.39 a.m. today, she said: “It’s like you don’t even want me to wake up from my sleep… I told you yesterday that it is nothing to talk about now.” Sindodo, who was released on bail last week Wednesday, was arrested and detained for six days after she killed the boy accidentally in Adeniyi Jones while on a visit to a friend, Tope Doherty, who had just returned from London. She actually spent sometime with Tope before the accident occurred while she was leaving Tope’s home. P.M.NEWS gathered that although the actress has been released on bail, she may be charged to court for alleged manslaughter any time from now. However, sources close to the deceased family said the matter may be settled out of court http://news.onlinenigeria.com/templates/?a=12387&z=31 |

Oba Elegushi Survived By 12 Wives, Over 70 Children Posted To The Web: Wednesday, December 30, 2009 - Astro Jewoola The late Elegushi of Ikateland, Oba Tekun Adeseyi Elegushi, Kubela II, is survived by 12 wives and over 70 children. This was disclosed yesterday by the senior wife he married in 1967 while he was a student at the Western College of Commerce, Yaba, Lagos, Olori Kudirat Ashabi Elegushi, during the monarch’s 40th day fidau prayers for the repose of his soul. “It’s very unfortunate that the monarch passed on at this time. He had sown many seeds. Unfortunately, death did not allow him to reap the fruits of the seeds he planted,” she lamented. “Elegushi was not only my loving husband, he was a darling friend, and a father. He was kind to a fault; his joy is putting smiles on the faces of people. Once he believed in a cause, he would pursue it vigorously with the last blood in his veins, until there is a positive result. He never discriminate between his domestic staff and his own biological children. “Elegushi singlehandedly transformed the entire Ikateland into a Mecca of sort where relatives and non-relatives trooped to for assistance,” she added. On the last moments of the departed monarch, Olori Kudirat Elegushi said: “I can only recall that on that fateful morning, he complained of chest pains which we believed could be managed at the hospital. But in the afternoon, he phoned some of his wives and instructed them to take good care of his children, biological and non-biological. “In the evening, we just heard that he had passed on,” the late monarch’s eldest wife narrated. His second wife, Olori Senatu Titilayo Elegushi described her late husband as a man of impeccable character. “Since I married him four years ago, I never regretted doing so. He had over 70 children, biological and non-biological, and was paying their school fees,” she revealed. http://news.onlinenigeria.com/templates/?a=12384&z=12 Elegushi was born on 10 April, 1940 to the royal ruling house of Ikateland, Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State. Fhemmmy:Why? Do you think the woman is serious about keeping her marriage?. If she truly is as she claims to beg her husband, she will change the hairstyle. Is it better for her to hold on to a common hairstyle and lose the father of her children over it? https://www.allweirdthings.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/weird-hairstyles-1.jpg Will you keep a wife with this type of hairstyle? Or https://img513.imageshack.us/img513/1619/48472908qo1.jpg Or |
May be her hairstyle makes her look gay and he doesn't want people to think his wife is a lesbian or that particular hairstyle may be very unattractive to him so, instead of getting himself entangled with another woman and commit adultery, he can as well divorce the incumbent wife now and be free from seeing the weird hairstyle. |

Police arrest suspected fraudster From Mohammed Aminu in Sokoto, 12.30.2009 Wednesday, December 30, 2009 Sokoto State Police Command yesterday arrested a suspected fraudster, Hamdan Muhammed Sadiq, who has been defrauding people, using the name of the late http://odili.net/news/source/2009/dec/30/207.html THISDAY checks revealed that the suspect, who is also from the same local government area with the former first lady, Hajiya Maryam Abacha, has been approaching public officers and traditional rulers, soliciting for funds in advancing what he said was the governorship aspiration of Muhammad Abacha, son of the late president. The suspected fraudster, who also claimed to be a relation to the former first lady however ran out of luck , when he paid a similar visit to Sokoto last weekend to see Governor Aliyu Wamakko. THISDAY learnt that the suspect did not see the governor, but was lodged at the Presidential Lodge in Sokoto for some days before the Chief Security Officer to the governor became suspicious of his intention and thus took him into police custody for interrogation. THISDAY learnt that before his arrest, the Permanent Secretary, Protocol, gave him the sum of $5,000 , though without the consent of the governor and was later recovered by the police. The police also recovered letterheads of the Shehu of Borno with forged introductory letters to the governors of Sokoto, Zamfara and Kano states. However, both the Secretary of the late Shehu of Borno and the Abacha family stated that they were not aware of the activities of the suspect, when they were contacted by the police. When Muhammed Abacha was informed of the activities of the suspect, he subsequently emailed a letter to the Sokoto state police command disowning him. Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Muhammad Umar Dakingari, when contacted by THISDAY confirmed the arrest of the fraudster, saying the command was still investigating the matter. |
Road side vendor now owns big restaurant in Enugu From PETRUS OBI, Enugu Wednesday, December 30, 2009 When Mrs Emily Oguadinma started food vending in 1985, she used to carry her wares in a wheel barrow, going about the Enugu new market area to feed hungry stomachs. Then, she never imagined that her business would one day grow to the level of becoming a household name in the state. [img]http://odili.net/news/source/2009/dec/30/sun/restaurant[1].gif[/img] The Restaurant When the government of the day decided to build a motor park at the market, Mrs. Oguadinma was among the food vendors and petty traders that were chased out for their inability to pay for shops in the park; yet she was not deterred in her bid to display her special cooking gift from God. Today, different people of different classes, especially those at the top echelon of the society are queuing up in her restaurant’s headquarters, a one-storey edifice, to be served a meal that you may never believe that this was the same woman who was selling ‘mama put’ few years back at the New Market, Enugu. Mrs Oguadinma who is the director of the popular Emily Restaurant in Enugu said that at the most difficult of times, “I believed in my business and I always put in my best hoping that one day things would be better; even when I was sacked from new market I was not deterred and, of course, I had to feed my family.” She said she did not go for any special training on how to cook, saying that “what I know was that whenever I cooked people always appreciated my food; I learnt cooking the ordinary way every other person would learn from his or her parents, but the difference here was that people so much appreciated my food and would always bring their friends around to share the experience. My cooking is a gift from God. “It is even now that I am thinking of going to catering school to learn more about foreign foods because everything that is local food in Igbo land I learnt it even in my mothers’ womb, but for the foreign dishes I will want to learn more about them.” I was once a house maid Emily who is from Obodoukwu in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State said she grew up in the village in Urualla, also in Ideato North Local Government Area. “My father was a wine tapper and my mother a petty trader and they managed to train us to the best of their ability. “When they couldn’t continue I went to serve as a house maid from there I got married, had children and became Emily.” I‘ve cooked for 24 years I started in 1985 as a ‘mama put’ carrying about food in a wheel barrow at the Enugu New Market. I started real small then; I remember vividly how sometimes I used to carry the food on my head to new market. I carried on until at a point when they wanted to build a park at the market; they requested that we pay for shops, but I didn’t have the money and could not pay and was thus forced out of new market. I came into the town and continued until I got little money with which I paid for a shop and then settled at No. 21 Obioma Street Achara Layout Enugu. I acquired the shop at Obioma Street in 1989; and there I started at a very small scale, but before long the business continued to grow and it kept improving until I got another good site which God Himself provided and which is even better than Obioma. That was how we expanded to 28 Moore House which was opened on the 13th of November 2008 and which today has become the biggest restaurant in the Enugu town and which has continued to record patronage from Enugu residents. Looking back over the years ‘Akaraka’ as she is fondly called noted that God does not forsake anyone who works had. She said there may be hard times and bad times in a business, but with perseverance God will surely see one through. “Yes, I may have suffered and passed through hell in the past, but today God has remembered me and that is how He will remember every hard working person. She urged the youths to take her story as an encouragement and not to be so much in a hurry as God will surely bless their endeavours. He urged them to put God first, do their best and surely their blessings will follow. Challenges I want to thank the government of the state led by Barr. Sullivan Chime, he is an example. Since I came to Enugu, the government has not disappointed me, but the problem is that those working with the government sometimes use their positions and impose so many levies on the people. She lamented the unending levies which she said sometimes tend to claim all the profit accruing to the business and urged the governor to look into the excesses of revenue collectors which is threatening the growth of business in the Coal City. However, my happiness is that Enugu is not as it was when I first came here; very soon, it would be competing with London. Christmas Emily said she was preparing a special Christmas package for her customers, “if not for every other thing at least for the love the people of Enugu State have for me. I also pray that God should grant all my customers long life and prosperity. http://odili.net/news/source/2009/dec/30/502.html |

Jarus:Hmmm, I didn't k now that. |
ronkeenuf:There is a difference between talking about something and threatening one with it. Christianity is all about forgiveness and acceptance no matter who you are. Sometimes, it becomes difficult for christians who has been forgiven to accept that forgiveness. Islam threatens one with the consequences of immorality but refuse to teach its adherents the love of God. Our God is an embodiment of love and even though we preach against immorality, we are constantly reminded of His compassionate love. That is why Christians don't resort to stoning or violence to correct an erring fellow christian. We preach forgiveness so, the OP knows what he is talking about. |
Have you noticed that 3 people who lived in asorock in just 24 years are dead. They are Sani Abacha, Stella Obasanjo and Maryam Babangida. If care is not taken, the fourth person[Musa yaradua] will follow suit in no distant time?. I cannot remember any country that has buried up to three people who lived in their state house within 24 years. I am not being superstitious here but think about it. How many residents of the white house since 1985- present are dead today?. What about 10 downing street?. Check out South Africa, Cameroun, Morocco, France, Luxembourg, Japan etc. Did someone place a curse in Aso Rock? |
How Ohakim loots Imo State • EFCC begins probe • Gov’s Aides, top contractor panic • Petitioner alleges threat to life By ZUBI NWANLIOGU WHAT is the true identity of Governor Godson Ikedi Ohakim of Imo State? Take one: New Face of Imo State? No. Take Two: New Rogue of Imo State? Addendum: Only the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and the court of law can establish whether Ohakim is a saint or devil. Indeed only the Law court can judge between Ohakim and his traducers who have accused him of monumental fraud even as he bestrides the South-East chest-thumping his achievement as an action governor across the Niger. This curious question is also knocking from all corners; Is Ohakim guilty or innocent of crunching the bone hung on his neck by unbridled looting of Imo State treasury? No matter what Ohakim's defence may be, the document on his alleged misdeed available to National Daily is damnable. National Daily influence revealed that Governor Ikedi Ohakim is today a subject of investigation by the EFCC following series of petitions forwarded to the commission's office in Abuja accusing him of offences bothering on contract inflation and money laundering. Ohakim is said to have bilked Imo State of monies amounting to Billions of naira. For instance Ohakim was accused of perpetuating fraud in the award off the N8 billion dredging of Nworie River. The contract was said to have been awarded to Ruodo Nigeria Limited owned by Chief Tony Chukwu. He aligned with the Ohakim government to defraud Imo State of colossal sums through inflated contracts. The Ohakim-Chukwu dubious partnership was said to have started over two years ago and climaxed in the N8 billion Nworie River dredging contract awarded in March, 2009. It was learned that over 50 per cent of the contract sum has already been paid to Tony Chukwu as “mobilization”. One knowledgeable source revealed that Ohakim awarded the Nworie River dredging contract during rainy season and about N4.5billion was paid to the contractors as mobilization fee. To quell the curiosity of critics, Ohakim claimed that the contract was in collaboration with the Niger Delta Development Fund. The giant Arab Contractors was named as another construction company brought by the governor to swindle the people of Imo State. Arab Contractors are known within the Government House, Owerri to be involved in “syndicated business” or “Close circuit business”. One of the petitioners Ikenna Samuelson Iwuoha, who is the Facilitator of SLAP Initiative, a non governmental organization alleges that the activities of this company are mainly to protect the interest of those giving them contracts. National Daily learned that a road construction contract of N25 billion spanning 150 kilometres was allegedly awarded hurriedly to Arab Contractors, TK Engineering and Boly Construction Company in March 2009; implicitly, the value of the Road Project per kilometer stands at N167 million. National Daily intelligence accessed more list of contractors allegedly used as conduit pipe by the governor to allegedly siphon the state funds with reckless abandon. Pinnacle Communications Limited tops the list. It was alleged that Ohakim used this company to defraud Imo State government of money running into hundreds of millions of naira. He was said to have secretly awarded the supply of IBC transmitters to Pinnacle Communications Limited on Friday November 9, 2007, at an alarming cost of N776.32 million. But in an apparent defence of the over-inflated contract, the Ohakim-led government quickly fixed the date of the installment and the commissioning of the transmitters as May 29, 2008. However, investigation revealed that the transmitters arrived Owerri, the Imo State capital on Thursday June 5, 2008. Seven days after it was supposed to be commissioned and had problems of installation. https://nationaldailyngr.com/Images/Ohakim.jpg “They were ineffectively installed in September 2008 hence it refused to function until January 2009 when another unofficial sum of money was pumped into the project. Till this moment the transmitters are not functioning, especially the TV section, one clear year after it was supposedly commissioned,” Iwuoha stated. As if that was not enough, Ohakim also allegedly used another contractor, Solid Foundation Construction Company owned by Prince Lemmy Akakem, the Okpataozuoha of Orji in Imo State. Ohakim has been accused of using Akakem's company to loot the resources of Imo State through the award of over-inflated road contracts. All the road projects, National Daily learnt, are yet to be completed while some have been abandoned but full payments made to the alleged company. A case in point was the 15 kilometres road from the Standard Shoe Industry Road to Amulu Mbeiri in Mbaitolu Local Government Area, the contract was awarded to Solid Foundation Company at a whooping cost of N1.3 billion. Analysts say the road was awarded on the average cost of N87 million per kilometer which they slammed as over bloated rate, intelligence showed that the alleged road contract was awarded in January 2008, full payment made, yet at the site work remains at the grading level. Other companies allegedly used by the Governor to milk the state include; New Ideas Construction Company and Lemmy Akakem Construction Company and Bauhuss Nigeria Limited, Bauhuss Nigeria Limited, was awarded a contract to build the Aladinma Shopping Plaza in Owerri. “They have been “doing” this job (contract) since 2007. When Ohakim came on board, he saw that he could make personal money from the project. So, he asked the management of the company to inform members of the public to bid for shops in advance and pay non-refundable sums of money running into millions of naira collectively; the public started buying forms, paying for non-existent shops, thousands of Imo citizens paid these various sums of money. This scam happened in January 2008. After few weeks, the Ohakim leadership announced over the Radio and Television controlled by the State Government that the Aladinma Shopping Plaza has been completed. Also, his leadership placed full page advert in the Champion Newspapers edition of 26/5/2008 and 27/5/2008 and in some pamphlets claiming that the Aladinma Shopping Plaza has been completed but in actual fact only a little percentage of work had been done,” Iwuoha stated in his petition. http://nationaldailyngr.com/98cover.htm |

Fallout of controversial court judgment: Ibori eyes presidency • National Daily's exclusive cover story affirmed as court squashes Ibori's case By ZUBI NWANLIOGU FORMER governor of Delta State James Onanefe Ibori is no doubts Nigeria's Christmas boy. The tall and handsome debonair who rose from an obscure wanna-be politician to become the godfather of so many Nigeria's politicos and ipso factor the avant-garde of the troubled Niger Delta region maybe looking for the world famous Santa Claus to collaborate with him in singing the hilarious carol in celebration of his escape from the stranglehold of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC). But has the foxy and astute politician from Oghara in Ethiope local government council of Delta State escaped from the scandal associated with his alleged financial crime and the impediment to his burgeoning political career? Political observers who are abreast with Nigeria's democratic history may not be very much surprised that last week Ibori was seemingly left of the hook by an Asaba High Court that quashed the 170-count charges against him based on adjudged legal technicalities raising an outcry that the substance of the case was never addressed by the prosecution and defense council. Critical observers believe that the Asaba High Court and the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Michael Aaondoakaa, deliberately relied on the loopholes created in the Ibori case to give their favourite politician a clean bill and subsequently assist in projecting his much taunted agenda to become the Vice President under a northern President and ultimately the President after the north must have completed its term in 2015 according to the zoning formula. Ibori had uncompromisingly nursed a dream to become the President of Nigeria. His ambition did not sprout from the cradle of his political pedigree. It all started when he became the governor of one of the states of the oil rich Niger Delta. The revenue that accrued to him as a result of the principle of national resources and the stupendous monies he allegedly made from business activities in the region made him not only wealthy but an Economic and political beautiful bride. National Daily sources disclosed that former President Olusegun Obasanjo considered Ibori as the real Capone of the Niger Delta politics despite the fact that former Bayelsa State governor, Diepriye Alamieyeseigha is from the Ijaw ethnic Nationality which is perceived as the nadir of the Niger Delta region. http://nationaldailyngr.com/cover.htm |
