Funny thing is he will lose value before his wife the moment he changes his name that way. One may think it will make his wife happier but women reason in strange ways. What you think may make them happy may turn you into a laughing stock before them.

By Cyriacus Izuekwe

A 25-year-old victim of sexual abuse has narrated to a stunned Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court in Lagos how she was raped by her pastor, Emmanuel William, after he poured ‘holy oil’ into her vagina.

Beatrice Andrew accused the Pastor, a preacher with one of the new generation churches, of raping her in his house at Idimu in Lagos State under false pretence.

According to Beatrice, the supposed man of God approached her and told her that she had been possessed by some spirits.

The pastor was further said to have claimed that the spirits in Beatrice had prevented her from getting married at 25.

Pastor William was said to have asked the victim to come for deliverance in his house and added that Beatrice should come with a bottle of holy oil since the prayer and deliverance would take place at night. According to Beatrice, on getting to Pastor William’s house, he started praying for her and pretended to be casting out demons from her. In the process, he poured ‘holy oil’ into her vagina and forcefully had sex with her.

Realizing what had happened to her, Miss Beatrice reported the case at the Idimu Police Station and the self acclaimed pastor was arrested and charged with rape at the Magistrate’s Court, Ejigbo.

Part of the charge sheet read: “That you, Emmanuel William on 18 December, 2009 at same place and time did unlawfully had carnal knowledge of Beatrice Andrew while obtaining her consent by fraud.”

The pastor pleaded not guilty to the offence which is contrary to sections 357 and 360 of the criminal code cap 17 vol.2 laws of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2003.

He was subsequently granted bail by the trial magistrate, Mrs. Maimunat Folami, in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The matter has been adjourned till 18 January, 2010, but the pastor was ordered to be remanded in prison custody since he could not meet the bail condition in good time.

My man must not depend on me –Moka
Posted To The Web: Friday, January 01, 2010 - AGATHA EMEADI

man me depend fashion Moka must My not on Sleek

At that-all-black-affair evening in November at the Oriental Hotel, history was made. 17-year-old Makida Moka beat other contestants from all the regions to become the first ever-crowned face of Sleek.

Amid glitz and glamour, Moka who is about the youngest of all the contestants drove away a Mitsubishi brand new jeep and won a modeling contract worth &15,000 in South Africa. Speaking with Daily Sun recently, you ask her where she would like to be in ten years to come.

“ I see myself still being in the sleek family, will still be the face of sleek 2009 that is like my title for now, they were the people that made me. Nobody can take it away from me (laughter) being the pioneer ambassador. I probably would have been married with a good job and happy doing my things in my own little way”.

With excitement, she spoke on the fairness of the competition, her expectations.

Meet her
My name is Makida Moka, I am born of a Jamaican father and my mother is from Anambra State. I was born in January 1992, my birthday will be celebrated in two weeks time. I have a sister and other relatives.
Academic background.
I am yet to get admission into the higher institution but will definitely do that after my reign as the face of sleek. I am yet to reconcile where I will further my education either here or outside the country. But what I know is that whenever I am ready to further my education, I want to study International relations. Either through JAMB or schools abroad.

https://news.onlinenigeria.com/articlefiles/12452-Moka1.jpg

The competition
I came about the face of sleek Nigeria (FOSN) when it was announced over the radio. The competition allowed ladies between the ages of 18-25; I have not turned 18 yet but was interested. So I made a call through to sleek office and was told I could participate. That was how it all started.

Fair ground for all contestants.
The competition gave each and every participant a fair chance. There was nothing like injustice, I am not saying it because I finally clinched the position, but because I was in camp with others. We all had the same tasks; we worked late through the night. The contest was not just for physical attraction, but combination of beauty and brain, confidence and charisma. After the regional screening, 20 of us were housed under one roof, we spent time with each other, had enough interaction. We also had crash courses in etiquette, grooming and fashion by trained professionals. We all worked had for the competition. Just that in life no one plans to fail. No one can go into a competition to go and fail but at the end of it, one person must emerge the winner.

Announcing her winner
When my name was called, I could not believe it was like oh my God, All the hard work has been paid for. All the sleeping for just two hours has been paid for. All the prayers my family offered on my behalf has been paid for. It was a big surprise to me. I was not expecting wearing the crown and driving home a car, but I knew I was going to make the top three. What the competition requires is not only the physical beauty but also other attributes like intelligence, strong personality and character.

What I learnt
I learnt I am now a strong person who can do many things. Recalling the questions that boosted her mark, three questions that were posed to her include The two types of sleek hair, human hair and synthetic, two other countries in Africa, Ghana and Togo and then the richest oil producing nation, I answered Nigeria.

Personal things I like
I used to play Badminton but have not done it for some time now.
I am not too interested in football, I can sit down and watch it but not crazy about it. I stopped Badminton out of laziness but will resume very soon.

The kind of man she is expecting
Though there is no relationship for now, but I do have friends. But when the time comes I would like a man who is God fearing. He must like God. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Another quality I would personally cherish in my man is having good heart for business. That man who has the vision to succeed and is willing to work hard on his own without depending on a woman. That man who is caring and have a listening ear. A hard working man put a lot in places and it stabilizes the home.

Handling stardom at 17
Well, if I must confess, this time last year, nobody was coming to interview me. No body knew me. I was very quiet with my family until the 29th of November when I was crowned the FOSN 2009. Yes, stardom has come. I will not let it enter my head, rather being an ambassador of a brand means you have to be on ground to make sure things are done well. Many young women have also being in the center of activities due to one event or the other, they all succeeded.

So I know through the mercy of God and with the support and cooperation of the people that I will work with, I would succeed. Agbani Darego was crowned Miss World at a tender age and she was able to handle the stardom that came with it. Most of the beauty queens are also crowned young. If they could manage it. I can also manage it. Remember the competition was not for the most beautiful, it was also for other qualities.

Favourite food
I love food. I am not fond of junk food like patries. My favourite food is Eba and Onugbu soup. I do not look like who loves eba because of my slim built nature. Well, that is my favourite food.

Style
Style is an expression of who you are. I wear clothes that fits me and looks good on me. I do not go for clothes that are label in vogue.
I know there are labels from different designers, what makes a stylish woman is not the name rather how you look when you step out.

Who is Sleek?
Sleek studio Nigeria is an exclusive franchise from the United Kingdom for the marketing and distribution of beauty products comprising make-up, hair extensions, wigs and would launch skin care, all formulated specially for women of color and style.

Role model
My mother remains my role model. Why? She has proved her worth by raising me inspite of all odds. She is a great woman.

HALLELUJAH! Bakare, Others Predict Better Days In 2010
Posted To The Web: Thursday, December 31, 2009 - The Pm News.com

Founder of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, President, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, Dr. Ola Makinde and other men of God have predicted hope and better days for Nigeria in 2010, saying that things will get better.

Bakare spoke with P.M.NEWS this morning, saying that Nigeria should expect a better year in 2010, stressing that God would intervene in the affairs of this nation.

According to him, “by the time we meet on Sunday, Nigeria will neither be headless nor voiceless. There is hope for our nation.”

Makinde, on his part said 2010 would be a year of peace, prosperity and positive progress, saying that there was no doubt that 2009 was turbulent for the nation, but the the nation would overcome such hurdles in the coming year.

“In all of these uncertainties, our faithful and ever present God was our companion and he is prepared to abide with us in this New Year and take us to new and unprecedented heights.

“For many of us, on a personal level, the year 2010 will mark the beginning of new things in which we will break and cover new grounds and for our dear country. Nigeria, it will be the year that we begin to move in the right direction in our quest for a better Nation,” he stated.

According to him, “the fulfillment of God’s promise for us in the year 2010 and its manifestation is anchored on our ability to live righteously and do God’s will. Righteousness exalts a nation while sin (and corrupt practices) bring reproach, backwardness, damnation, stagnancy upon it.

“In its simplest form, righteousness connotes virtue, justice, morality, decency, uprightness, rectitude and honesty and the lack of these in the lives of many and that of our Nation has hindered us from realizing our full potentials which accounts for our present situation and predicament.

“It is salient to emphasize that our resolve to say ‘NO’ to temptations that confront us on a daily basis and do what is right individually and collectively (as a people) will be intrinsic and fundamental to us maximizing and making the best of the opportunities in 2010.”

Makinde appealed to all armed robbers and kidnappers to change or face the wrath of God as the year 2010 would not be their year, adding that the Lord is ready to descend on evil doers in the country in the coming year.

The prelate warned politicians to stay away from killing their opponents as the elections draw nearer, saying that those who killed by the sword would also die by the sword, while he also warned the youths not to emulate the bad example of Mutallab, who soiled the nation’s image by trying to bomb a plane.

“The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, must prove to all and sundry that credible and hitch free elections can be conducted in this country. With the 2011 general elections around the corner, it is important that the Justice Mohammed Uwais report on electoral reforms is taken seriously and implemented so as to lay a solid foundation for future elections in this country.

“It also calls for a more serious approach to the ongoing constitution amendment embarked upon by the National Assembly, knowing full well that the successful amendments to the grey areas in the 1999 Constitution will go a long way in not only giving us a near perfect election like we had in 1993 but will further strengthen our democracy and bring about a desired social order,” he stated. He called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the quick recovery of the President, Umar Musa Yar’dua who is currently recuperating in Saudi Arabia as well as include his family in their daily thoughts and prayers, adding that “in spite of all, I urge us not to cease in praying for the wellbeing of our dear beloved country.”

PFN President, Oritsejafor said: “As we enter the New Year, we should believe in ourselves that we can together make Nigeria a nation and a strong land. As we do that and put God in His place, I tell you this nation will go places.”

He warned that as the election comes, politicians should not see it as a do or die affair, adding that, Nigerians should reduce the emphasis on money in everything, saying that “money is not everything and if we can do that, then we are a step closer to making sure that we will get the right people we want in the right positions.

“And what I mean is that most of these politicians are going to try to buy people with money, which they normally do. And in some cases people will not even vote. Why are we selling our country and future? Nigerians should not accept imposition.

“We should be prepared to go to the streets and protest against wrong doings, especially in the conduct of the elections. If we can do these two things in Nigeria, 2011 will witness a better election we have never had.

“We are about going into another decade and if we don’t prepare, someone else will prepare for us and if you don’t take your destiny in your own hands, someone else will take it and arrange it for you.”

The PFN president called on Nigerians to allow God to take His place as God in this nation, stressing that “I believe we can set an agenda for our nation and we should collectively desire a nation called Nigeria. Because what we have today when people are saying they are fighting for their tribes is not true.

“They are merely pursuing their individual interests. They are only using the tribe as a cover to make a way for themselves. And we must prepare to pay the price for Nigeria because it will cost something. The next 10 years, for me, is very crucial in this nation.”

Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos State Chapter, Dr. Adebayo Abiola said there is plenty of hope for Nigeria in the New Year, adding that “when all seems to be lost, God will come to our support and raise us up from the dungeon if every Nigerian will rise up and praise Him.”

Rev. Festus Ola of the Assemblies of God Church simply said there is hope for the nation in the New Year.

Pastor Reuben Morakinyo of The Apostolic Church (TAC), Shasha District added that “there is hope for Nigeria because we do not exist on our own. The hope will be made better if we recognize the supremacy of God in our national life. He will intervene in our situation.”

Suicide bomber infiltrates secret American base and kills eight CIA agents in massive blow to U.S intelligence
Posted To The Web: Thursday, December 31, 2009 - Mail Foreign Service

A suicide bomber penetrated a foreign army base in Afghanistan and killed eight CIA employees yesterday.
Meanwhile four Canadian troops and a recently-engaged journalist on her first war assignment died in a separate attack.
The Taliban claimed the attacker was a sympathiser from the Afghan army, but the country's Defence Ministry said no Afghan soldiers were involved in the attack or stationed at the site in southeastern Khost province.

U.S. officials said the dead Americans were CIA employees but declined to comment on the attacker's nationality or status.
The explosion casts a long shadow over Western plans to bolster the Afghan army and police, in order to eventually hand over security and bring their own troops home.
If an Afghan army official turned on the foreign troops and officials who are meant to be mentoring and partnering them, after a series of similar incidents this year, it will raise tough questions about trust and loyalty.

If he was not an Afghan soldier visiting or stationed on Forward Operating Base Chapman, then U.S. concerns about security controls will be even more grave, after a year that has been the deadliest of the eight-year war for foreign troops.

More, 'I thought they were going to shoot me': Iraqi kidnappers release British hostage after two-and-a-half years

The CIA has also been expanding its presence in the country, stepping up strikes against Taliban and al Qaeda militants along the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, although its role has been criticised by rights groups and Afghans.

The site of the suicide attack is near the Pakistan border, in one of the areas where the Taliban insurgency is strongest. Security in the region was stepped up on Thursday.

Asked how the attacker launched the assault in a foreign military base, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid replied: 'Since the man was an officer, he had not much difficulties.'

The four Canadian soldiers and Calgary Herald reporter Michelle Lang were killed when their armoured vehicle was hit by a bomb near the southern city of Kandahar.

The recently-engaged Miss Lang was on her first assignment in Afghanistan.

Eight CIA agents were killed in a separate attack, during a suicide bombing at a military base in south-eastern Afghanistan.
The explosion was at a military base in Khost province, near the border with Pakistan.

'We can confirm that there was an explosion in Khost province and eight Americans have been killed,' said a U.S. official in Kabul.

Several others, none of them U.S. or Nato troops, were wounded in the explosion at Forward Operating Base Chapman, defence officials said.

The CIA has been expanding its presence in Afghanistan in a bid to stem Taliban gains.
U.S. officials said they could not provide details pending notification of the agents' families.
Miss Lang, 34, had only arrived on December 11 for her first assignment in Afghanistan.

'The soldiers were conducting a community security patrol in order to gather information on the pattern of life and maintain security in the area,' Brig. Gen. Daniel Menard, commander of coalition forces in Kandahar, said.
Miss Lang's colleagues were devastated by the news of the award-winning reporter's death. She was recently engaged to be married.

'She was one of those journalists who always wanted to get to the bottom of every story so this was an important trip for her,' said colleague Colette Derworiz.

The attack was the second in Kandahar in a week. On December 24, eight people including a child were killed when a man detonated a horse-drawn cart laden with explosives outside a guest house frequented by foreigners.
Attacks in Afghanistan this year have spiralled to their highest levels since the Taliban was overthrown by U.S. and British-led forces in late 2001.

In October the Taliban demonstrated its reach by targeting United Nations employees at a guest house in Kabul, killing five and wounding several others.

'Beheaded'
Today Afghanistan police said militants have beheaded six Afghans for cooperating with government authorities.
Juma Gul Hamit, police chief of Uruzgan province in south-central Afghanistan, says the men were beheaded Thursday near the provincial capital of Tarin Kot.
Hamit defended the victims, saying they were not involved in any anti-government activities.
He says a seventh Afghan man is being treated for serious neck injuries.

Along the line, she got married and just recently the marriage is dissolved. Meanwhile, shortly after her marriageto the Ekwus, things changed for this versatile actress as the scripts that always fell on her lap ceased to come-forth due to her status then. Now as a single mother or do we say a divorcee, life has been so tough for her to the extent that the almightyEucharia now turns a beggar.

The other day, she was allegedly said to have made a soft loan request from a certain top government official. The situation is so bad that she was said to have told the man that she needed the money badly to take care of some important things. Like? I wish I knew. But we are pressing real hard to uncover that important things she needs to fix.

It’s a known fact that 9ice is such a nice personality that is not wayward even before he got married to his heartthrob, Toni Payne but what we gathered recently is that Deinde has been keeping some beautiful girls for 9ice in some hospitality havens within Lagos metropolis where, we learnt, 9ice and other members of Alapomeji meet to have nice time.

Though, 9ice, according to another informant within Alapomeji caucus informed us that, he loves his wife, Toni Payne even to a fault and we not want to do anything to hurt her feelings, notwithstanding, Deinde and other ‘guys’ pressure always overpowered him as we learnt that he, 9ice, cheats on his wife once in a while particularly with a girl called M. A. I hope Toni Payne is not reading this o.

Nigeria airports to buy 3-D full body scanners

LAGOS, Nigeria – A Nigerian official says the nation will purchase 3-D, full body scanners after a man passed through Nigeria's biggest airport before trying to bring down a U.S.-bound flight on Christmas Day.
Civil Aviation Authority chief Harold Demuren says he hopes the machines will be installed early next year.

The announcement came hours after Dutch officials said they would immediately begin to use full body scanners on flights headed to the U.S. It is unclear if Nigeria will use the same technology as the Netherlands.
Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a 23-year-old Nigerian, passed through Lagos and Amsterdam before attempting to detonate concealed explosives on a flight as it prepared to land in Detroit.
