PoliticsRe: Why Is Tinubu So Powerful? by alphaking(m): 5:31pm On Jul 17, 2016
I hate him , but I respect him die
omenka:
He has paid his dues. He single handedly ensured the survival of the opposition in Nigeria when the PDP tsunami of 2003 swept across the South West. Dude ensured Lagos didn't fall and from then launched a campaign that would see to the recapturing of the SW, ultimately resulting in what we have today.

Tinubu is no saint, but you just gotta respect his political astuteness. Hell of a sage.
PoliticsMy Take On The Fuel Subsidy And Strike by alphaking(op): 7:41am On May 18, 2016
MISSED CHANCES
The truth is not a weapon to be used when we feel like it but a necessary weapon and instrument that should be used at all times regardless of the consequences.
The removal or non-removal of the fuel subsidy ( depending on who you are listening to) shows one thing , all politicians are deceptive but some are ignorant and deceptive. Our Government belongs to the latter.
The APC government have miraculously and astonishingly managed to bungle an already bleeding economy beyond our wildest nightmare.
This recent fuel hike is not surprising , no it is not. We should have seen it since 2012 that fuel subsidy was no longer viable and from the revelations from the NASS fuel subsidy probe that it was a large fraud by a select group of Elites.
The fuel subsidy removal then would have saved us this enormous trouble we are facing now. But then why should we cry over missed opportunities ; it is rather late for that. The truth is the Subsidy removal at this point is callous, wicked but rather needed now. This government is a victim of its mindless attacks when they were in the opposition that they attacked every policy of the then government without looking at the important stats then.
Now they ask that we look at the stats now.
I do and I believe the NLC should. We would suffer,we would cry because of the grand ineptitude of our government , but let us cry now and get it over with. We missed an opportunity in 2012 , we shouldn't miss this chance to move forward; I fear it is the only chance we have of not going down the lane of an Economic meltdown.

This is one hunnid percent correct ;

I'm happy 4 her no doubt, jes because she's in a better place 2day 20th Feb, however I don't see any inspirational story behind her success, no personal efforts, no personal development plan, she isn't perfectly qualified for a show like 'who deserves to be a a millionaire' ,so a situation whereby she's an inspirational speaker and face of a bank makes me fear for this country.

Big congratulations to u Jumoke tho!
I have decided not to follow the jumoke story early on. This is because u know the propensity of Nigerians to sensationalise every story. It is as a result of believing that somehow miracles still work. That they believe in miracles do not mean they do not work. Yes luck and God shined on her , but she wasn't sleeping or lazying around when it did , she was Working.
Jumoke Is not yet successful, she has changed from a less Promising career to a more lucrative one. She still needs to work harder and become a successful model. Then would she be an inspirational figure.
She represents hope and continued hardwork not laziness. She might not have worked to become a model but she was Working hard to change her story and she did
The writer got it all wrong Jumoke deserves all she is getting let us pray she works harder to keep it

It is just common sense why should return the money after doing the job for which the party was paid for.
Is collecting money for alliances a crime

EducationRe: We Failed, Yet Again - A Write Up By A Concerned OAU Student by alphaking(m): 2:50pm On Jan 06, 2016
Any body who praises the flagrant abuse of power as shown by Omole is an enemy of everything good. I understand your plight, you don't want to waste donkey years in school. I do not intend defending the CEC of OAU student Union they can do that themselves. Every possible method has been used in OAU Unionism to no avail , this is because you have a group of people who are not concerned about the welfare of the students and are ready to send the students home for any of the slightest excuse ever heard in history. So what should we then do ?. Siddon look while the management assume the positions of emperors, demanding and that we 'zip up ' while we suffer from total and utter neglect.
Every single year the standard in OAU worsens, welfarism is absent and we live in the worst conditions possible. Those pictures of our halls of residence that were circulated before the ill fated mid-semester break were not photoshopped .
Student unionism is not perfect but in our desire to rush through the dungeon called OAU we should know that Aluta isn't about us as individuals but our generation and future Great Ife Students who would have to reap from our doggedness in the face of oppression as we reaped from past struggles.
Prof Omole might be a very good academia but he was a poor manager.
Mass failures, easily preventable deaths, poorly 'refurbished' structures and allegations of corruption can tell the story better.

The author says

he then goes on to say

The irony is so glaring i find it hard to believe the author is oxford trained.

A man of integrity would not put his name on a document he cannot defend so if Mr Udoma is a man of integrity and as intelligent as the author claims then Mr Udoma would have had a lot to say as far as this budget is concerned and the budget is most likely his brain child.

The article just shows the author hates the president and is finding every possible means to knock him but given that his friend (whom he can vouch for) is in charge, he first tries to exonerate his friend(that is not held against his will) before bashing the president and his party.
Did you read economics in school, I mean sec school level economics. If you did you would have seen the folly in that budget.

EducationRe: Great Ife Student Union Leaders Is Yet To Present Any Budget. by alphaking(m): 12:49am On Sep 16, 2015
While the budget has not been read by the house the SRC has a committee known as the Budget,Finance and audit committee who sit on the presented budget and make appropriate amends to it just like the senate appropriations committee before it is presented at the house for final ratification. The budget is usually made available to members of the SRC before the sitting to enable them peruse and fully understand the budget so as to make well grounded input during the budget debate. The PRO has been known for lies, half truths and propaganda, in a bid to shy away from their unscrupulous spending he decided to highlight so called gains of the administration but they have refused to tell the world that they have bluntly refused to do as the Congress of Great Ife students demanded when they were asked to post pictures of the incredibly horrible welfare situation we are forced to live in or their failure to raise funds for their pet 'Scholarship Scheme' as promised to students and the SRC and how their blushes were saved by the last minute intervention of the Congress. They have decided to embark on traveling round the south west and Nigeria so as to justify the gargantuan amount budgeted for fuelling in their wasteful proposed budget but taking pictures and writing letters to appropriate anti-corruption agencies in the country to investigate alleged sharp practices and reneged social contract by the school management as ordered by the SRC has proved very difficult .Pls we are tired of these lies. The other time it was about TY trying to use his office to get sponsorship for a personal trip to New York .If he can do that while can't he move that the dipilated buildings on campus be renovated. We all thought TY was our BUHARI but he has failed us .
