You don't say! I was stup¹d to put it in water and I been kicking myself ever since.

But I am very delighted to say that I am now out of purgatory and my punishment is finished. I shall be getting a Pcspecialist Recoil 18" 275HX 32GB RTX 5070Ti 1TB from a benefactor.

I will make it sit on my desktop, and I will go find more benefactors just in case I'm stup¹d again.
Your last paragraph cracked me up here... cheesy grin

Indeed, the new machine has to sit right on your desktop... (NO more aquatic locations for viewing YouTube videos).
I once had one of my mobile phones fall into water in the bathroom years back. I learned some punishing lessons from that experience and I don't take my mobile devices near water ever again. ONLY the paranoid survive. That's a true maxim! Although we live in a world of vibrational energy (cause and effect), so, any thing bought new will deteriorate in time and space.

I've never used a "Pcspecialist" brand in my life. I might pick up one of that brand soon after seeing your post and watching online reviews of the brands you mentioned here.

A Confession.

I murdered my laptop. I drowned it in the bath, and my stup¹d pained me so much that I couldn't confess till to Alpha.Taikun.

It happened just about August 2025 when I put my lovely hardworking loyal Pcspecialist Ionico 10875H RTX3070 64Gb 2Tr underwater and drowned it and began bearing false witness that my laptop took a bath.

I was soaking in the bath, watching youtubes as a mamiwata me when and I stepped out to pea and next I was staring at the ceiling. I must have been out at least 2 minutes. I got up and saw my laptop in the bath. It was totally submerged. [b]My Pcspecialist Ionico 10875H RTX3070 64Gb DDR4 2T NVMe had been murdered by drowning by me!

That is my sin. This is my confession.
@budaatum

Whoa! Did you lose consciousness? It's wonderful you came round again. I hope you didn't have a major head injury from the "about 2 minutes" of passing out. Some folks have fallen unconscious in the bath and had some head injuries after hitting a hard floor surface in the past.

I checked up the performance and online reviews of the "Pcspecialist Ionico" 10875H RTX3070 64Gb DDR4 2T NVMe, manufactured in 2021 and that machine is indeed mad cool for £2000+. I saw a 3-year warranty from one of the UK retail outlets for the Pcspecialist Ionoco as well which is impressive.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Indeed, Senator Oluremi Tinubu's biological father is Ijebu from Ogun State and her biological mother is Itsekiri from Delta State. Her spoken Itsekiri shows the importance of connecting with both sides of your roots (paternal and maternal).

Oluremi Tinubu ancestrally belongs to both great lineages as Ijebus ancestry created part of Itsekiri people. Ilajes and Ife descendants also make up the PARENT ethnic group of the larger Itsekiris people.

Itsekiri communities founded by Ijebus before the 1480 arrival of exiled Prince Ginuwa from Benin are Ode Itsekiri, Omadino, Ogidigben, etc, one of the Itsekiri communities founded by Ilajes from Ugboland in Ondo State is Ugborodo, etc, (the oil and gas-rich community formerly called Escravos). Ureju was founded by Ife migrants centuries back.
The LARGEST percentage of the oil and gas in Southern Delta State comes from Itsekiriland and the natural gas that feeds the industrial hubs of Lagos, Ogun, right up to Ghana via the "West African Gas pipeline" comes directly from majorly Ugborodo and other parts of Itsekiriland.

She spoke in near-fluent Itsekiri to the joy of the crowd. It's good to know that though she's maternally Itsekiri and her biological father is Ijebu from Ogun State, she's well grounded with her folks in Warri.

Revolva:
It's a yorubaoid language not a dialect ...it has mix of Yoruba igala and few Benin heritage that is how itsekiri was formed
For the benefit of readers who don't know these specifics, I'll add more CLARITY to what @FreestuffsNG posted...

The parent ethnic group of Itsekiris is of Yoruba descent from Ijebu, Ilaje, and Ife. The other heritages migrated from Benin Kingdom through Prince Ginuwa who's father was Oba Olua of Benin and Ginuwa's mother was from Ile Ife (Ufe). She was the only one among Oba Olua's wives who was NOT born in Benin. Till date, the Itsekiri lineages of Ijebu descent who have been in that part of Delta State before Prince Ginuwa arrived in 1480 still maintain strong contacts with Ijebuland in Ogun State. Some migrants left Ugboland (Ilaje) in Ondo State more than 500 years ago to establish Ugborodo which is the oil and gas-rich area formerly known as Escravos.

It was the Ijebus (Itsekiris) led by Chief Lenuwa that Prince Ginuwa and 70 of his men who went on exile from Benin met at Ode Itsekiri in 1480. The Ijebus (Itsekiris) knew he was of royal lineage so he was welcomed in there community and hence made a ruler. Other Itsekiri communities have their own traditional rulers too known as Olarajas but the Olu is the paramount ruler among the Itsekiri though I read in the past that some Itsekiri communities WANTED full independence.

The two Igala lineages in Itsekiriland migrated there from elsewhere centuries later and they would have felt comfortable settling down there because their spoken Igala language is Yoruboid just like Itsekiri. Even the Ooni of Ife and his royal representive affirmed the Igala presence in Itsekiriland just prior to the coronation of the current Olu (who was then the Omooba or Prince). However, Igala language is more mixed with Idoma in it. About 65% of Igala language is mutually intelligible with the rest of Yoruba language BUT Igala cannot be classified as a FULL dialect of Yoruba because Idoma language takes the rest of the percentage of words in Igala language. Igalas are ALSO made up of mixed ethnic ORIGINS as told by the late Attah Michael Ameh Oboni of Igalaland in a 2017 Sunday Punch newspaper interview which is still online. He talked about the migration along the River Benue of a group of people from Wukari (Taraba axis) who merged with a significant number of Yorubas and Edos near Idah, etc, to form Igala centuries ago. There's NO doubt that Yorubas and Igalas are close or blood relatives ancestrally BUT that doesn't mean Igalas are Yoruba. Igala is simply of mixed ethnic heritage.

So, Itsekiri language is classified as a DISTINCT language but in reality, it's a dialect of Yoruba BECAUSE the parent ethnic group of Itsekiris is Yoruba with many Yoruba words in it like basket (apere) or the numbers one to ten for instance. The FIRST major oil wells in Itsekiriland are known as "Okan, Meji, Meta, Merin."

Yoruba, Edo, some Pidgin English and Portuguese words are found in Itsekiri language as of today according to linguists. It's the same with many Nigerian languages that are NOT monolithic but infused with some loan words from other languages.

In a powerful display of community spirit and social responsibility, the Abuja-based construction mogul and prominent son of Imesi Ward 5, Hon. Ajayi Oluwatosin Sunday (popularly known as ASO), has launched a targeted financial intervention for widows across the Aiyekire/Gboyin area. The high-profile businessman and Ekiti State University alumnus extended this support as part of a strategic effort to reinforce the grassroots impact of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration.

Throughout the 11 wards of the constituency, twenty widows were selected to receive immediate cash grants of twenty thousand naira each. This capital injection is specifically aimed at bolstering their small-scale businesses and providing a much-needed buffer against the current economic climate. Hon. Oluwatosin, speaking during the presentation, noted that his success in the construction industry in Abuja has only deepened his commitment to his roots. He emphasized that the gesture was born out of a desire to uplift struggling residents and serve as a catalyst for others to support the less privileged, promising that this is only the beginning of a broader series of planned empowerment programmes.

The event drew high-level commendation from state and local leaders who viewed the move as a perfect alignment with the state's development goals. Mr. Olalekan Ijidale, the Director-General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Local Content, alongside Pastor Olatokunbo Adeyeye, the Chairman of Gbonyin-Aiyekire Local Government, praised the mogul for his patriotism. They noted that ASO’s initiative directly mirrors Governor Oyebanji’s vision of ensuring that the aged and vulnerable are not left behind in the state's progress.

Beneficiaries, including Mrs. Victoria Akinola and Mrs. Oluwalusi Ajayi, were visible moved by the intervention. They expressed profound gratitude, stating that the funds would be immediately channeled into expanding their trades, thereby ensuring a more sustainable means of livelihood for their families.

fergie001:
Timipre Sylva & Moses Zakwa Accused Of Bankrolling Coup Against Tinubu - PT by fergie001: 6:10am
Security agencies investigating the alleged coup plot to overthrow President Bola Tinubu have identified two persons who allegedly funnelled N835 million through two private companies to bankroll the alleged conspiracy, PREMIUM TIMES can exclusively report.

Former Bayelsa State Governor Timipre Sylva allegedly contributed the largest share of N785 million. Investigators alleged that the funds were transferred through Purple Waves Limited, an Abuja-based construction company. The firm’s secretary, John Ebokpo, has since been arrested by security operatives and remains in detention.

Mr Sylva, who served as Minister of State for Petroleum Resources under former President Muhammadu Buhari, is accused of being the principal financier of the failed plot and remains at large.

PREMIUM TIMES had earlier reported his alleged role, but the exact figures he donated have only now emerged. The former governor, who is still at large, has denied any role in the coup.

Mr Sylva’s precise connection to Purple Waves Limited is not immediately clear. Company records at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) did not list him as a director or shareholder. The firm was registered in March 2009 for construction, building, and maintenance activities.

Efforts to call Mr Sylva on his known telephone line were unsuccessful. Attempts to contact his spokesperson, Julius Bokoru, and other directors of Purple Waves Limited also failed as calls to their known telephone numbers did not connect.

When PREMIUM TIMES visited Purple Waves’ office address in Abuja on Monday, a security guard at the location informed our reporter that the office had been shut down for about “four to five months” — a period that coincides with the wave of arrests made by security operatives in connection with the alleged coup.

The second alleged sponsor, Moses Zakwa, is accused of contributing N50 million through Clay Ring Services Limited, a Lagos-based firm where he is listed as a director. The company is registered for property renovation, development, and management services.

Little is known about Mr Zakwa. A search of his digital footprint yielded nothing. However, in 2014, a man bearing the same name led members of the Kibaku Youth Association in a peaceful protest at the Alausa Secretariat in Ikeja, demanding the release of abducted schoolgirls in Borno State. It is unclear whether that is the same individual now in the custody of security agencies.

PREMIUM TIMES reached out to other directors of Clay Ring Services, but their phone numbers were unreachable. Benjamin Okwumabua, one of the directors listed in the company’s CAC filings, said he is not related to the company.

Last month, the Defence Headquarters announced that investigations had been completed and forwarded to the “appropriate superior authority in line with extant regulations.”

The military disclosed that the findings identified “several officers with allegations of plotting to overthrow the government,” describing such conduct as “inconsistent with the ethics, values, and professional standards required of members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.”

PREMIUM TIMES reported that 40 suspects are detained, including senior military officers across the armed forces, a police officer, and civilians allegedly involved in reconnaissance, funding, and propaganda operations of the coup.

The suspects were captured in a covert intelligence operation coordinated by the Army Headquarters and the State Security Service (SSS).

An unspecified number of civilians remain in custody, being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the SSS for alleged roles in financing, logistics, and coordination. Others have been granted bail.

The investigation also identified retired Major General Adamu as one of the key figures connected to the network. Mr Adamu remains at large alongside Mr Sylva.

Intelligence sources disclosed that one of the fleeing suspects was tracked to a country in South America, though his exact location has not been officially disclosed for security reasons.

PREMIUM TIMES previously reported that the alleged coup plotters initially planned to disrupt the handover of power from former President Buhari to President Tinubu on 29 May 2023, during the presidential inauguration.

However, the plan was suspended due to insufficient funds and inadequate logistical arrangements. The alleged conspirators reactivated their plans in 2025 after Mr Sylva wired the funds.

Sources said authorities are awaiting presidential approval to formally constitute a court-martial panel to try the soldiers involved.

The failed plot was allegedly masterminded by Alhassan Maaji, a colonel with service number N/10668. Mr Maaji and other military officers allegedly planned a violent takeover in which top government officials were marked for elimination.

Earlier, knowledgeable and reliable sources told this newspaper that the alleged plotters planned to assassinate President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Service Chiefs, and the Commander of the Guards Brigade, among others.

Some officers were also assigned to take full control of the Presidential Villa, the Niger Barracks, the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) Complex, and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

Investigators have since recovered two gun trucks, anti-aircraft guns, PKT guns, RPG bombs, AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and tactical gear from AA Hayatu, a lieutenant colonel attached to the 130 Battalion Main.

In addition to the weapons cache, investigators seized four Toyota Hilux trucks, one Toyota Prado SUV, two Toyota saloon cars, and 32 Volkswagen Golf vehicles allegedly procured for covert operations.

“All recovered exhibits are in the custody of the DIA,” one source said, adding that “recovered funds have been lodged into the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police account domiciled with the Central Bank of Nigeria.”

Some members of the ADC have been examining the party's performance in the recent area council elections in Abuja. They have proferred many reasons for the party's failure in the elections. Some say there was improper planning, others say that the Obidient bloc took over certain campaigns, like the AMAC election campaign, without carrying others along, etc.

The Obidients say that the other blocs within the party wanted them to fail and that's why they are blaming them. They said that the other blocs wanted Dr Mo to lose the AMAC election.

This has led to war within the ADC.

Theo Abu and Emma IK. Imeh were members of the PDP. They have moved to the ADC, although they have also expressed disillusionment with the opposition.

RIP to the dead. May God rest his soul.
You need to come correct here.

The Yoruba movie industry just like the Hausa, Ibibio, Edo, and Efik subsets of the movie industry are all collectively known as the Nigerian movie industry. The English language subset of the Nigerian movie industry is NOT the ONLY segment of the Nigerian movie industry.

As of 1988, the Yoruba movie industry practitioners pioneered the home video industry in Nigeria and that FIRST EVER home video entitled "Soso Ekun" was also screened simultaneously at the National Theatre in Lagos State. Prince 'Jide Kosoko, the late Prince Alade Aromire and many more started the home video industry in Nigeria which a Japanese-American journalist in the United States started referring to euphemistically as "Nollywood" in the early 2000s. That's how that rather insidious term came into being. Several Yoruba home videos subtitled in English were produced from 1988 long before other Nigerian linguistic groups started making their own home videos in the 1990s. These historical timelines which I personally witnessed can be verified online and offline.

As of 1969, the movie "Kongi's Harvest" by the iconic 1986 Nobel Laureate and film maker, Professor 'Wole Soyinka which was done on celluloid and screened in the cinemas in Lagos State and elsewhere became the FIRST Nigerian movie to be wholly produced by a Nigerian film crew led by the iconic Francis Oladele. The 1969 movie "Kongi's Harvest" is the film that the veteran film maker 'Tunde Kelani said motivated him to pick up a career in the movie industry because he watched it at a cinema in Lagos State in 1969!

I'm typing this post for the benefit of the younger folks who don't know how the Nigerian film industry started FULL blast from the 1960s till the home video revolution (Betamax and VHS tapes were used to package the home videos) started in 1988.

Last but NOT least, the Indian movie industry has long REJECTED the condescending and derogatory term "Bollywood" because it assumes that Indians are "Hollywood wannabes" and the Indians say they are NOT a caricature of Hollywood! Nigerians and Ghanaians especially some of the uninformed entertainment journalists who gleefully use the terms "Nollywood and Ghollywood" MUST reject those terms "Nollywood and Ghollywood" as well like the Indian movie industry folks have done. Period

PoliticsRe: Why Egbetokun Resigned As IG - Bayo Onanuga by AlphaTaikun: 9:11pm On Feb 24
[quote author=Maxy.milliano post=138570365]The Presidency has confirmed the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun as the Inspector-General of Police.

It said the former police boss resigned from office, citing family issues that require his undivided attention.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a response to an inquiry by PUNCH Online, saying, “The IGP resigned in a letter today, citing family issues which require his undivided attention.”

However, multiple Presidency sources told our correspondent that Egbetokun was asked to step down during a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday evening.

“It was in that meeting he was asked to go,” a highly placed official in the Presidency stated on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter.

Our correspondent observed the IGP’s official vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser with number plate NPF-01, parking at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa around 6:40 pm on Monday.

Egbetokun, dressed in his black uniform without his cap, alighted from the vehicle and turned back to ask for his notepad from an aide who briskly reached into the vehicle and handed it to him.

The IGP arrived at approximately the same time governors were arriving for an interfaith breaking of fast with the President, raising initial uncertainty about the purpose of his visit.

However, another source at the Villa confirmed that Egbetokun was specifically summoned that evening by the President.

“He was called in. It wasn’t a routine visit,” the source stated.

Security officials who confided in our correspondent said the IGP returned to the State House at about 8:00 pm as his vehicle was subjected to search by DSS operatives at the Villa.

Egbetokun, who was appointed IGP on June 19, 2023, has faced mounting criticism over the nation’s deteriorating security situation, particularly the wave of kidnappings, banditry, and terrorist attacks across multiple states.

Recent high-profile incidents include the abduction of nearly 300 schoolchildren from St. Mary’s boarding school in Niger State in November 2025, mass killings in Kwara State communities in February 2026, and persistent kidnappings along major highways.

The President, during Monday’s Iftar with governors, had pledged that the establishment of state police to combat insecurity would not be postponed, declaring that “security is the foundation of prosperity.”

“Without it, farms cannot flourish, businesses cannot grow, and families cannot sleep in peace. We will establish state police to curb insecurity,” Tinubu had stated at the event.

Before his appointment as IGP, Egbetokun served as Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigations Department.

He succeeded Usman Alkali Baba, whose tenure expired in September 2023 after an extension granted by former President Muhammadu Buhari.

DrMB:
Nigeria is the fifth-largest producer of electricity in Africa (2023), the most striking takeaway is that China's capacity is nearly 72,000% larger than Nigeria's actual generation of 40,959 GWh.
With an annual generation of 40,959 GWh for over 200 million people, Nigeria provides roughly 186 kWh per person per year.
However, the Global Standard for a country to transition to a "Middle Income" economy, the World Bank suggests a minimum of 2,000–3,000 kWh per person.
A citizen in the United States or Japan consumes more electricity in a few weeks than the average Nigerian consumes in an entire year. This limits Nigeria to a "trading and service" economy rather than a "manufacturing" economy.
🇳🇬 Nigeria is the 5th largest power producer in Africa, but here is the cold, hard truth: China generates more power in 15 minutes than Nigeria does in an entire year.

This is what some people get when they fail to carry out due diligence. CLUELESSNESS is indeed a contagious disease!

Now, many of them are begging the central governments of their original African countries to rescue them from being forced into taking part as combatants in the ongoing Russian-Ukraine War after being deceived into traveling out for some phantom jobs in Russia.

InvestmentRe: 5 Practical Steps To Fix Your Bookkeeping Now by AlphaTaikun: 8:22pm On Feb 24
KUDINAIRA:
With the ongoing conversations around the new tax regulations, it is understandable that many business owners feel uneasy. But if we are honest, much of the fear is not really about tax itself. It is about not knowing what your numbers actually look like.

Some business owners mix personal and business income in one account. Some do not operate a proper business account at all. Others cannot clearly say how much the business earns, spends, or makes in profit. In that situation, any new regulation feels like a direct threat to personal income.

The honest truth is that taxes on business should not be a source of fear. Most taxes only apply when certain thresholds are met. VAT, for example, depends on turnover levels. Corporate income tax applies to profit. But how do you know whether you have crossed a threshold if your records are unclear? How do you know whether you have made profit if your books are not in order?

When you do not know your numbers, everything feels threatening.

The solution is not panic. It is structure.
Instead of fearing tax, fix your bookkeeping. When your records are clear, you pay the right taxes — not more, not less. You can plan properly. You can identify legitimate deductions. You can take advantage of available reliefs. Most importantly, you can operate with confidence instead of anxiety.

Here are five practical steps to fix your bookkeeping now.
1. Separate Business and Personal Finances Immediately
This is the foundation.
If your business income flows into your personal account and your personal expenses come out of the same place, clarity becomes impossible. You cannot confidently say what belongs to the business and what belongs to you.

Open and actively use a dedicated business account. Receive business income into it. Pay business expenses from it. If you need money personally, transfer it intentionally as salary or drawings.

This simple step creates immediate visibility.

2. Catch Up on Outstanding Records
If your books are behind, start with the last three to six months.
Go through your bank statements and:
👉🏾List all income received
👉🏾Categorise expenses
👉🏾Identify recurring payments
👉🏾Flag unclear transactions
Do not aim for perfection. Aim for accuracy and consistency. Cleaning up recent records gives you a clear starting point.

3. Track Expenses Properly, Not Just Sales
Many business owners know their revenue but cannot clearly state their expenses.
Begin categorising your costs:
👉🏾Cost of goods or services
👉🏾Operational expenses
👉🏾Utilities and subscriptions
👉🏾Staff payments
👉🏾Marketing costs
Remember, tax is based on profit, not just revenue. If you do not track expenses properly, you cannot calculate profit accurately. And if you cannot calculate profit, you are operating in the dark.

4. Reconcile Your Books Monthly
Reconciliation means comparing your bookkeeping records with your bank statements to ensure everything matches.
This helps you:
👉🏾 Detect missing entries
👉🏾 Correct errors
👉🏾 Identify unusual transactions
👉🏾 Maintain financial accuracy
Monthly reconciliation prevents year-end surprises and reduces regulatory stress.

5. Put a Simple System in Place Going Forward
Fixing the past is important. Preventing future confusion is even more important.
Choose a system you can maintain consistently:
👉🏾 A structured spreadsheet
👉🏾 Bookkeeping software
👉🏾 An accounting app
👉🏾 Or a professional bookkeeper
The best system is not the most complex one. It is the one you will actually use.

Final Word
The new tax environment is not designed to punish serious businesses. It is designed to formalise accountability.

When your books are clean, you know:
👉🏾 Whether you have met tax thresholds
👉🏾 What your true profit is
👉🏾 What you legitimately owe
👉🏾 What reliefs or deductions apply
Fear thrives in confusion. Confidence comes from clarity.
Fix your bookkeeping, and you will find that tax becomes a calculation — not a threat.

Start now. Stay consistent. Build structure.

PoliticsRe: Gbagyi People Celebrate The Election Of Christopher Zakka Maikalangu (Videos) by AlphaTaikun: 2:40pm On Feb 23
naptu2:
I can now write about AMAC election since it's over.

I wrote many series about indigeneship of Abuja. In those series I told you that:

1) The Federal Government took over all the land that is now Abuja and relocated the indigenes. The indigenes were also paid compensation.

I told you that the Abuja situation was one of two mass relocations that I studied (the other was the relocation of the people of Busa to New Busa because of the construction of Kainji Dam that led to the creation of Lake Kainji and flooding of their homes).

2) However, I told you that the indigenes of Abuja have always campaigned for representation and President Babangida listened to them and created the (elected) position of Mayor of Abuja (in the 1989 constitution), but Abacha removed it in the 1995 constitution.

3) I told you about the day that President Obasanjo was very angry. He had townhall meetings with residents of Abuja and they were introducing people as Eze Ndigbo of a part of Abuja and Oba Yoruba of a part of Abuja and President Obasanjo took the microphone. He was furious.

He said that he was chief of staff (military vice president) when Abuja was created and he was head of state when the people were relocated. The idea was that there would be no indigene of Abuja. Instead Abuja would belong to all Nigerians. He said that there could not be any traditional ruler in Abuja and he didn't ever want to see anything like that again.

4) I told you about the friction between the NPN Federal Government and the UPN Lagos State Government and I told you that this was one of the reasons why the FG did not want a governor or mayor of Abuja.

I told you that Abuja was created to avoid the problems of Lagos, so there was to be no indigene, it was to be big enough to absorb a large population (to avoid congestion of Lagos) and there must be no state government that can challenge the Federal Government.

5) I posted articles, pictures and videos about protests by the indigenes of Abuja. They said that the constitution says that every state must have a minister, but no indigene of Abuja has been made a minister. This issue was rectified by the Tinubu administration (they made Zephania Bitrus Jisalo a minister).

AMAC election

So now let's get to the AMAC election. Christopher Zakka (Maikalangu) is the chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), the most important local government in Abuja. He is from the Gbagyi ethnic group, one of the original indigenous groups of Abuja. He is a Christian and a member of the APC.

His running mate is Honourable Yusuf Nadabo, who is Hausa and a Muslim.

Dr Moses Paul Ogidi is one of the people that I call "Core Obidients" (not all these people that make noise online). These are the people that meet with Peter Obi almost every day and follow him to his engagements. They carry out tasks for him and they form the core of the Obidient Movement. I am referring to people like Dr Yunusa Tanko, Dr Moses Paul, Aisha Yesufu, Serah Ibrahim, Morris Monye, Blessing Chimezie, Bolanle Emiabata-Anibaba, etc.

Dr Paul decided to throw his hat in the ring and contest the election for the chairmanship of AMAC. His running mate was Nebo Nneka Emmanuela.

However, there were several problems with that ticket and it reminded me of what happened in the Edo State governorship election, when the Labour Party picked a candidate from the wrong place.

The first problem is the problem of Option A4. The Babangida Administration designed Option A4 to counter the problem of absentee politicians. There are people that are very famous nationwide, but are unknown in their village. Option A4 was designed to force such people to contest primary elections in their villages before their could aspire for higher office.

Dr Moses Paul is well known by Obidients across Nigeria, but many residents of AMAC have stated that they had never heard of him before this election season. Meanwhile, Honourable Maikalangu is the incumbent chairman and he has carried out a lot of projects and campaigned all across the local government and people in the local government have known him for years.

The second problem has to do with representation. I have told you about how the Gbagyi and other original indigenous ethnic groups of Abuje have fought for recognition and representation. Honourable Maikalangu is Gbagyi and originally from Abuja. His running mate is from a part of Kaduna that borders Abuja. Meanwhile, Dr Moses Paul is from Benue State while his running mate is Igbo.

The result of that ⬆️ is that Honourable Maikalangu won all the rural areas (where there was heavy turnout), while Dr Mo's victories came in the urban areas (where there was low voter turnout).

Honourable Maikalangu is a Christian and his running mate is a Muslim, but both Doctor Paul and his running mate were Christians.

In my view, the most important issue is something that I wrote about in my structure series. Honourble Maikalangu has been in politics for a long time. He was once a councilor in AMAC (2013) and I have heard his name for many years (he was previously in the PDP and he has supporters in both APC and PDP, in fact, the PDP candidate stepped down for him). He is the incumbent chairman and has executed many projects. Some people have also criticised him because of the sanitation situation in the council, but even this is to his advantage. You see, the people of the council know Maikalangu, but many of them have never heard of Dr Moses Paul before the election season.
Insightful... Saved.

Whoa! Those solar panels built by APC and Nyesom Wike in that Gbagyi community look so beautiful from the aerial view. It shows that you don't need to have rocket science knowledge to do the needful in any society. Period.
