The folks here on this thread couldn't hide their bias & unreasonable sentiments in their hearts.

The medical team performed an outstanding feat without transfusion, worthy of commendation.

These folks don't appreciate the success of the medical team who respects the rights of his patient for a treatment she prefers.

But ,non of these folks want their own right to medical treatment to be infringed upon by their doctor or anyone.

If the medical team had done the procedure on their pastor,they would applaud him & say their deity did it,but because it's JW's treatment that was successful, they are expressing bias.

You're right. To be fair on them no one who knows all the disadvantages of blood transfusion will readily jump at the idea. And in this particular patient's case, there's no evidence to suggest that she was in a life and death situation so I'm wondering why the brouhaha

We used to accept and give blood transfusions in the past, but by careful study of the scriptures, we changed. It is an issue of faith above all else.

We Witnesses are very law abiding, During Covid, our members were urged, not coerced as it a personal choice, to get vaccinated. All those working full time for the organisation (about 22,000 worldwide) had to get vaccinated or leave. Unlike most religious organizations, we refused to start in person meeting at either our Kingdom Halls or Assembly Halls. We even stopped house to house witnesseing. Many non-Witnesses took notice, and it got televised. Why? Because we wanted to protect out members and those of the public. We are very health conscious.

This can be contrasted with many "Born Again" Christians and Pentecostals, who refused to get vaccinated, some calling it the "Mark of the Beast" Many died, including then president of Tanzania.

At just 19, Sydney Joorabchi was battling cancer for the second time. She was first diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at 13. After harsh rounds of chemotherapy, at 16, she went into remission. But three years later it was back.

Due to her religious beliefs as a Jehovah’s Witness, Sydney was adamant not to have a blood transfusion part of her treatment.

After discussing her needs with her doctor, he suggested she seek treatment at The University of Kansas Cancer Center. That is where she met Dr. Sunil Abhyankar and his team, who got to work at figuring out how to accommodate Sydney’s medical and spiritual needs.

Based on the kind of cancer they decided to perform Car-T therapy. A type of treatment that works well for blood cancers, and often requires no chemotherapy or blood transfusions, and can have fewer side effects. Car T therapy essentially extracts your own blood, reengineers your cells and then places the new cells back into your body.

Sydney was skeptical at first because she assumed she’d ultimately need a bone marrow transplant, but 30 days after treatment, Sydney was in full remission.

Aunty Esther shared earlier that her test results were out and the cancer was found in her breast and armpit. She thanked everyone who donated towards her treatment and assured the public that updates would keep coming.

But shortly after, one of the fundraiser coordinators, Sir Dickson, announced that he and another volunteer doctor were stepping away from handling her case. According to him, doctors advised that she undergo a blood transfusion to stabilise her levels before chemotherapy, but she refused on religious grounds as a Jehovah’s Witness.

He added that her church members reportedly warned she would be disfellowshipped if she accepted blood, while some family members allegedly insisted that “whatever happens is God’s will.” He said that while her belief is respected, they cannot continue leading a fundraiser where the patient is rejecting the ideal treatment that could save her life.

President Bola Tinubu’s government has said that security agencies are unable to track down terrorists branding weapons and loads of ransom collected in cash on social media because they use Elon Musk’s Starlink and other internet services from neighbouring countries.

Daniel Bwala, one of the spokespersons for Mr Tinubu, disclosed this in an interview with a radio station, Nigeria Info, on Thursday, when asked why Nigerian security agencies were swift to track down, arrest and detain government critics but have failed to do the same with terrorists boasting and flaunting ransom on social media.

“Let me give you one scenario: There is a regulatory body in Nigeria that has a database of Nigerian people. There is also a body that deals with internet service provision, where if you are using an internet service that is covered within the sphere of Nigeria, we can trace wherever you are through your IP address.

“If you are using Starlink, we cannot trace it because Starlink is not registered in Nigeria. It’s in the space.”

Going through this passage, there's a paragraph that really interest me which I will like to clarify.

To start with, I am not surprised by Wasiu's behavior at the airport.

He is very arrogant and proud because he never knew that he would be in the position he accidentally found himself.

What concerns me is that of the vacant tool of Awùjalẹ̀ of Ìjẹ̀búland which some people are insinuating that Wasiu might be the next Awùjalẹ̀ because he is Olori Omo Oba.

For clarity, the Olori Omo Oba title bestowed on Wasiu is just an honorary chieftaincy title. This title was first given to late Otunba Subomi Ashiru Balogun just to honour him.

It has nothing to do with any ruling house in Ìjẹ̀bú-Òde.

Although, Ọ̀túnba Subomi Ashiru Balogun belonged to one of the 8 families in Fùṣẹngbùwà Ruling House.

Secondly, Wasiu is not from Ìjẹ̀bú-Òde. His father is from Epe. He is an Ifa Oracle man. He migrated to Ìjẹ̀bú-Òde and settled down at Fìdípọ̀tẹ̀ Street in Ìjẹ̀bú-Òde where he practiced his Ifa Oracle tradition.

So, there's no link between Wasiu's dad and any Ruling House in Ìjẹ̀bú-Òde. For this reason there's no way he could have fought for Awùjalẹ̀ stool because he doesn't belong to any ruling house which is Fìdípọ̀tẹ̀ Ruling House.

Thirdly, there's no rift in Fùṣẹngbùwà which is the next ruling Ruling House as claimed by some people.

The Fùṣẹngbùwà Ruling House comprises of eight families in which each family have its own Olórí-Ẹbí and then the overall Olórí-Ẹbí. The meeting is on going in each of the 8 families in Fùṣẹngbùwà Ruling House to deliberate on concensus candidate to be recommended to the kings makers.

So, Wasiu's matter should be ruled out. Even if it is the turn of Fìdípọ̀tẹ̀ Ruling House, Ìjẹ̀bú-Òde indegenes wouldn't allow it.

There's no room for "Asawo" in Ijebu Ode in Ijebu Ode Ruling Houses. If he tries any move he will hear his story.

Wasiu's immediate junior sister got married to Colonel Awote who built his house at Erinlu on Imodi Imosan Road in Ijebu Ode.

Fuji music legend, Wasiu Ayinde, has declared his intention to be considered for the vacant stool of the Awujale of Ijebuland.

Recently, the Fuji maestro caused a disruption at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja after refusing to surrender a flask believed to contain alcohol,leading to a standoff with airport officials and a delayed flight.

He was subsequently banned from flying in Nigeria, and the government reversed the decision and made him a FAAN ambassador instead.

KWAM 1, in a letter dated December 3, 2025, addressed to the Fusengbuwa ruling house of Agunsebi Quarters, stated that his ambition stemmed from his being a bona fide son of the Oba Jadiara lineage.

The musician said, “Otunba Wasiu Ayinde Adewale Olasunkanmi Omogbolahan Anifowoshe, MON, hereby formally notify the Fusengbuwa Ruling House of my intention to be considered for the vacant stool of the Awujale of Ijebuland, subject strictly to the provisions of Ijebu customary law and the Ogun State Chieftaincy Laws.

“I was born on 3rd March 1957, and I am a bona fide son of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House of Agunsebi Quarters, tracing my ancestry to the Oba Jadiara lineage, which qualifies me to present myself for consideration in accordance with established tradition.

I have devoted over five decades to the promotion of Ijebu, Yoruba and Nigerian culture through music and cultural enterprise.”

The Fuji musician touted his several personal honours, including his installation as Mayegun of Yorubaland in 2020, his conferment as Olori Omo-Oba and Otunba Afidipotemole of Akile Ijebu in 2023 by the late Awujale, and his national honour as a Member of the Order of the Niger in 2022.

According to the artiste, the process of choosing the next Awujale should be concluded “within a matter of weeks”.

Confirming the receipt of the letter of interest by Mr Ayinde, the chairman of the ruling house, Abdul Lateef Adebayo Owoyemi, in a statement on Friday, said, “I urge all our family members, home and abroad, to remain calm and confident.

I have, within two hours of receiving the said letter addressed to me and six others, by the Olori Omo Oba Akile Ijebu, sent him an appropriate response, just like I had quietly done, to similar declarations of interest in the recent past.

“In Sha Allah, we shall all have cause to rejoice and thank the Almighty God, who alone makes any one King, within a matter of weeks.

I am convinced, God Willing, that we are all very close to a very peaceful and joyous conclusion of the sacred and historic process!”
