Dear all, please chip in from your experience.
I submitted visa applications and a mail was sent from UKIV to upload pictures with 10 days deadline to respond. I could not see the mail on time and the visa was declined with options for administrative review.
I have submitted the administrative review earlier December.
But this morning I received a refund of the IHS fee.
I kindly want to know what is the implications of this

I also found out about this after I had submitted and booked my biometrics.

100% agree. It happened to a former colleague of mine, 2 in fact, both Nigerians. I can't say they lived a lavish lifestyle but did not have enough to go back or remain. They became pitiable sight to behold. One I believe went on a student visa and I don't know what became of the other.
Looking at all this informed majority decision to pick nursing program against all odds cos you can't really stay out of job while pursing your ILS. Health seem like the most dug pit here that is unfillable

My brother na this weather men are going through looking for money here. Oh Jesus, na I really understand why men will not send money home despite how you beg.
It is even crazy for guys currently doing menial job.
N.B, we are just blessed in Africa, just unfortunate economic sabotage

Life starts from 50. And the best place to enjoy that is with families and friends. Not abroad and alone. When the kids must have left, who do you have?
Your oyibo friends?
Or your cats and dogs.

If I hear.

My opinion anyway
Men I look at that your line "from 50" then I concur and I can't foresee warm blooded man like me will leave African communal life style that suit old age and old bone to cold lonely and and segregated society. You are right, keep your Nigerian friends and family contact active, cos finally communal life style is the best way to retire than the grief I see at the faces of this white elders in care homes

Honestly feel that guy "Uzor' might be some how right, I look around here and I see the strange eyes the whites look at the blacks, an economic migrantt, infact I was looking at one elderly black man in the bus, he looks so defeated and out of place, it is very clear at old age, the reality start downing on you that you don't belong here, the expression of the people around will display it. It will be clear the segregation, but at this age u can summont it, but when u get old, it becomes a strange feeling, cos you appear in the mist of white. at different bus station, the black kids move only with the black. You will eventually feel odd at old age. Now while here, I realized why older Nigerian will prefer to return home. It is even evident in some care home I have been, I hardly see any black old man, I keep wondering where they keep them

Hi dear, this your post just dropped my morale. My husband got an offer to study at your side. Computer science (advanced study) I will be joining as dependant. But me I can't stay up to 2 or 3 months waiting for job o. Will loose my mind worse not getting a job at all.

Please is there hope of getting a better life there? Is it really green.? Are there really jobs? And can one make savings from it after settling cost of living.

Ps: he just started a digital biz which is striving, will you advice he leaves it for further studies?
I just laughed when I saw your question, men I left the banking work back, though the deposit target was getting unbearable, when I arrived UK this year, I nearly fell into depression when I was recruited to care work right out of 10 days quarantine, Men I look back at suit and tie bank work and the white ass on the mess up bed I was told to clean. But to be sincere the first 2 weeks was funny, I would have treck back to Naija if I had my way, but now I adjusted a bit, trying to get my study going. Just prepare yourself, it just different experience base on the circumstances you will meet.
No magician here that will forcast it for you. But a similar trend will occur, which is the first month, you will feel like you running back to Naija, unless you came loaded with cash

what is the meaning of DEngr
Just like you, I was busy asking, re-asking early this year about coming here.
But men I am here now, met fellow Nigerians here who don't know nairaland self, I hear their own version of life.
I can adjure that health sector is the weath here. Even my fellow IT student are working as careworker and jostling to get the NHS care work And it is the sector that most willing to sponsor.
I conclude the best bet is to come as couple cos the white chicks has zero attention for us, I see it every day. Then do not look at the Nigerian lady with paper cos the guys who got in with them here feel like a prisoner in Nigeria.
It just not an easy life. But in all you just have to experience it yourself to make your own assessment.

Visit nhs website and put in nursing assistant , senior Carer and healthcare assistant roles etc and sign up for daily alerts.

For those that don’t have health background, you can buy social care health package about 20k and update your CV accordingly

Where can I find this social care health package?

http://www.social-care.tv/courses/course-details?utm_source=smartmail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=18th+May+2021+-+Popular+Course+-+Confidentiality

Choose one that relates to the post you want

Add medication if looking for a senior Carer role

http://www.social-care.tv/courses/course-details/1024

As they might be required to do other e-learning courses when they start work too.

https://www.reed.co.uk/courses/care-certificate

https://www.reed.co.uk/courses/health-social-care

These level 3 QCF/NVQ Health and Social Care can help them advance to senior carer or Team leader positions.

For managerial roles, NVQ courses can increase one's chances. Thats how a care home made an NVQ 2 holder deputy manager. So the NVQ courses are way maker for those who can do it some are equivalent to degree and masters.

I am currently doing the level 5 NVQ Health and Social care as I have seen that that is the way if I want to grow to care home management.

Yes o, level 5/6/7 and not too expensive

They will register her for level 5 NVQ immediately after getting this deputy manager position.

Your bsc is equivalent too to apply for registered manager pin

More than 50% are given conditional offer to register for Level 5 NVQ within a certain period, say 1 year.

Except they have Masters in healthcare management

I think it might be worth that they chose courses that are accredited and regulated for credibility purpose.

Go for the ones that have QCF/NVQ/RQF written beside it.

Most recognised awarding bodies for Regulated Qualifications:
- City and Guilds
- Training Qualification UK
- Focus Awards
- Highfield Qualifications

If the training provider you decide to go with is registered with 1 or 2 of these awarding bodies, it is safe.
https://deals.oplexcareers.com/course/health-and-social-care-advanced-course/

On can do:
- NVQ/QCF Level 5 diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care
- Move to Level 6 Healthcare/ Health Care/Strategicmanagement (equivalent to BSC)
- Then register with Chartered Management Institute for Level 7 Management course/Management and Consultancy course to become a Chartered Manager/Management Consultant
Thanks

The good part is that after the 3 years or 5 years, you can either extend it for another 3 or 5 years or you apply for ILR (permanent residency).

If you live for one year as a permanent residency, you are eligible to apply for citizenship.
That is great, another plan B is to keep applying for PhD to other EU countries that offers free Tuition, another plan is porting to North America before the 2yrs finish

Leeds is cool. Leeds Beckett has 3 campuses, it depends on your course of study. In terms of jobs it also depends on your physical strength and mind you, you have 20 hours weekly. Brother, get your NI and do Royal mail ( mail sorting) you can add Bluearrow cleaning jobs too. During holidays you can work unlimited and make your money.
Thanks bro

Please I want more opinion on this as I am about engaging the Polish agent on payment modalities. Though this is still 50/50 as I have not use the agent before
amanze54:
I have been battling between proceeding with my UK admission and taking up the Poland work permit. It has not been an easy decision.
I plan investing about the 8m I budgeted for the UK in a landed property and move to Poland on the work permit.
But I am trying to see what will I miss if I ditch UK for Poland given I have to battle for stay permit after 4yrs in UK after investing 8m in studies. But on the other hand I am doing an IT related course, MSc Data Science and could land a good opportunity after study.
Poland blue collar work pay is not much but I am not spending more than 1million for the whole process both flights.
So this is my dilemma, as I am looking at the expenses I am going to make for the two countries and benefits therein

This is my own opinion. If I am in your shoes I will take the UK option after all you have the opportunity to work as you study in the UK. Moreso, after you finish you have the right to wait behind to look for stay. Then if the total fees you are paying for the UK is not more than 8m why do you have to pay the total at once. Pay part probably half the amount go over there and work to pay the remaining. Remember this is my opinion but what do I know. Another option is to pray over it and let God lead you that's if you are willing to surrender to His will
Thanks for response, though I am not planning to pay the fees at once, I am just looking out at the variables that will come to play in the long run when I seek for permanent stay, which of the countries has an easier option, putting into consideration howmuch I spent either earned through studying and working or from my saved fund as both are time and money
