Check Sandy10's post. The only thing I would add is to be sure your fiance has at least one year of verifiable continuous work experience that she can get a reference letter from (NYSC counts as well).

You can do a court marriage so that you legally apply as a couple. Any big celebrations can be done at a later time.

Check that you're not selecting work experience in Canada - I suspect that's why your score is above 500.

Abubanty:
Good morning ppl, trust you are all doing well. Please I want to seek advise. Me and my fiance are getting married next year or early 2022. Can we start applying for the express entry pool before we get married or after we get married as she would be the primary. We have already started processing WES and we are practicing for IELTS while she would also do TEF.
While doing entry score simulation I was getting 500-540 points depending on the choices.

For our background. I am 36yrs old with B.sc Computer science, I have about 8-10 yrs working experience in IT while she is 26yrs old studied French but she is a Make-up artist and into music.

Any advice and suggestions is highly welcome

Your IELTS is good. Has your husband also taken IELTS? Have you evaluated the Masters' degrees for both yourself and your hubby?

PNPs are hard as many of them are tied to a job offer in the province or other strict requirements.

You can start learning French while waiting to see if any province will select you or if any PNP requirements loosen up.

MemeRoyal:
Thanks a lot.
I have studied page one.
I have created a profile and my CRS score is 453 what are my chances??
IELTS were 8.5, 7.5, 7.5, 7.5 (LRWS)
I already have an MSc and so does my husband.

How else can I improve my CRS score?
anyone pls?

If you are the principal applicant, you can enter the pool AFTER you have your IELTS results, not before. This is to take advantage of the tie breaking rule.

You are permitted to enter the pool as married and add your wife, even if she doesn't have any ECA or IELTS yet. You will state that she doesn't have them yet. Once she has hers, update your profile to include her results.

GreatManBee:
Congratulations to all you got ITA..

I'll like to ask please. I intend entering the pool as my ECA is ready while I'm waiting for my IELTS results.

However, my spouse has not been able to do her ECA as the senate of her school is yet to approve her results.

What do you suggest here? Should I still go ahead or wait for her results to be ready?

Thanks you
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by amaya21: 10:28am On Oct 18, 2020
Not needed while you are entering the pool. However, you need it to submit your application after ITA.

You can get it proactively if you think your score can fetch you an ITA in the next few draws.

kexepet:
Hi guys, please I need to clarify this.
My spouse studied for Masters in the UK about 7years ago.

Would we need to get PCC from the UK while submitting profile ?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by amaya21: 3:48pm On Oct 17, 2020
cc @MINTss

amaya21:
If you can't submit by Oct 26, you need to retake IELTS within the 90 day period from when you got ITA and hope that your score is equal to or better than the old score.

Note that if your CRS happens to drop below the first one because of a different IELTS score, it can't go below the CRS cutoff for your draw. Else you have to decline the ITA.

Your IELTS has to be valid when you submit your application. If you can't submit your application before its expiry you'll have to retake the IELTS

You can evaluate your BSc and IELTS to enter the pool. Your spouse should also evaluate degrees and take IELTS. That will position you for any available PNP options that may require your NOC.

You can then pursue a Masters or a short course. If you want to do it via distance learning, ensure that it is from an accredited school/program that will be favorably evaluated by any of the ECA evaluation bodies.

Hello all,
I am an IT professional with 7 years experience working for a top company UAE. Due to the recent visa issue for Nigerians in UAE, I have decided to migrate to Canada. I am married with kids. I checked the CRS score and could only amass 418. I have savings of about 12 million naira. So my options
1) Travel to Canada for MSC. I will have to pay fully for this cos I don't have good grade in BSC.
Also travelling will mean I will have to resign on my job of salary about N2m although most likely I will get another one.
2) Do masters distance learning online from UK or from other cheap universities so I can add to PR point but it will still be 456. The advantage of this is I still have my job in UAE and don't take much risks by jumping to unknown. But with this my CRS will still be too low.
I will appreciate any response/comment on this...

For speaking, this is not specifically geared at TEF/TCF practice, but it has helped 2 of my friends with general French speaking and listening. I also use it for practice. www.italki.com . Alliance Francaise used to do conversation classes, not sure if they are doing this currently.

Lajoie33:
Bonsoir à tous!
I'm learning French for TEF or TCF (was sure it was TEF until I read just now about how TCF is better). I'm a weak BE and I'm focused on improving my skills.
Is there a forum where we can speak to improve EO?
Also, I've checked but can't find this: is TEF a CBT in Nigeria? What of TCF?
God bless you all who take the time to help others with info. My decision to learn French came from a success story in this forum. I can't wait to share mine

Simulate your CRS score two times, one with English as first language and one with French as first language. Whichever gives you higher points is what you should use. If none are high enough for current trends, you can look at retaking any of the tests.

LeProfeseurJean:
House ooh, I had 7.5 band in belts and band 7 in tef four competencies pls which should I use as First language to get max points
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by amaya21: 9:38am On Sep 21, 2020
You don't have to list every single role. If your current role is over 4 years you say and in an eligible NOC, you can put only that one pre-ITA. 3 years work experience will give you the maximum points for work experience available. That's the only one you will need a reference letter for.

Others can be placed in personal history POST ITA - no reference or proof needed for those.

Grreenk:
Good day house, please do I have to put my whole employment history since I left the university, or only my current employment history, which I have been doing for over a 4 years and is related to my noc

If you've gone through the thread, you'd have seen than many resources have been shared. Go through the last 10 to 20 pages at least.

Toludebs:

Alliance Francaise in Ikoyi is open according to their Facebook page. Check their Facebook page for flyers and other details. I don't know about other states / locations though.

It's just in recent times that they're faster. IQAS used to take a minimum of 6 months last year.

Debbieeeeeee:
If you mean speed in terms of evaluation and co I heard IQAS is faster even though they state 16-20 weeks, I’ve asked around.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by amaya21: 8:29am On Sep 04, 2020
You can apply to more than one PNP, however you can only accept one if more than one province extends a nomination.

For EE, only siblings or parents give additional points. For PNP, you need to check the individual PNP requirements.

Caddy123:
Good morning all. Pls I need some clarification on these;
1. Can I apply to more than one province for PNP same time?
2. I have a relative who is a cousin in one of the province, while filling the form for express entry, they ask if u have a relative in Canada and they gave examples like aunt, Uncle, father, mother, son, daughter, brother and sister. Nothing like cousin. Should I say no that I don't have relative because nothing was mentioned for cousin.

Thanks

You can't. You need both. cc @Allegory

Daboll:
Hello house, please a quick question.

Can I create an express entry account without my IELTS result ready? I have my ECA already done.
Thank you. Good morning.

Find the appropriate NOC for the longer job. If it is in NOC group A, B or 0, then you should be able to use it.

builderperry:
Thank you for your response. The job in 2009 started in October. I worked as Site Engineer, Planner and Project Builder respectively after my NYSC (all related to construction).
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by amaya21: 11:05am On Aug 26, 2020
You didn't mention what type of work you did for the last job while you were studying - not every type of job is eligible so that is important to know.

You can't use the first job you did in 2009 - 2010. Only work experience in the last 10 years is eligible. As of today, no work done before August 2010 would be valid (August 2010 was 10 years ago).

builderperry:
Hello Everyone!

I am Ahmed and international student in Hamburg. I started my Canada express entry journey yesterday by paying to WES and ETX for my transcripts. I have ND, HND and B.sc, If I knew earlier I would evaluate just my ND and HND since I will get the same point. Well, that's gone and I need to move forward. To avoid further mistake in future, I would to love ask this question and I hope someone would answer me.

I work as an IT student after my ND, the company is closed as it is a small firm (2009-2010 1 yr). I worked as a teacher during my NYSC (2013 -2014 1 yr), I can't get a reference letter from the school and thirdly I was working for a company while studying for my HND (2010 - 2012 2 yrs) and B.sc (2014 - 2018 4 yrs) and after studies (2018 - 2019 1 yr). Please what part of the working experience counts for the express entry?
