I never got an email from them about medicals being uploaded. Just noticed changes in my profile that medicals have been passed.

Mzstacie:
Hey guys,

Do you get email from qlife informing you that your medicals has been uploaded
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by amaya21: 11:59am On Jan 27, 2021
freshdad here on Nairaland had an application that took almost 24 months. You can search his profile. Very frustrating I'm sure

There's not much you can do except disturb them with webforms and emails.

Have you redone medicals?

swizzle:
I applied since April 2019 and up till now I haven't received my PR. Numerous calls and emails and they keep saying it's due to COVID-19.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Has anyone heard of an express entry application that took 21 months and counting? I've heard of 18 months but not 21 months!

Last meaningful communication with them was when I was asked to provide additional information in October 2019.

What's the suggested way forward please?

Thank you.

April 2022 is still far. Use it like that for IELTS for now. Renew when it is less than 6 months to expiry.

Drogbotel:
I plan writing IELTS in the Month of March this year. But I have a concern, which is my Passport, it expires April 2022. Please can I go ahead and use it for the IELTS or does it have any effect if it expires immediately after or before I leave the country?

You can leave it blank or put N/A in all. However most people I know with no kids left it all blank.

Ifeoma33:
thank you, I just want to know how to fill the family information form. Do I put not applicable on the name part that don't àpply to me òr I put not applicable on every box

According to the story: "Sources said the man apparently took a COVID-19 test in Nigeria, but hadn’t received the results before departing." - someone in Nigeria let him board without a test, despite Canada requiring negative tests since Jan 7 for all incoming flights. He could very well have been positive and knew it before boarding.

Igethope:
Some Nigerians sha, how did he get a negative COVID result ?

In my own case,

Initial Medicals: Aug 2019
AOR: Sep 2019

Silence..........

I never got med extensions in my profile or a remedical request. I know some others who got extensions.

However, we chose to proactively do remeds at Q Life in Nov 2020. We didn't discuss that it was for remedicals. We just did as if we were doing regular upfront medicals. We submitted our webform with the documents received from the clinic and hoped for the best.

PPR came this month.

Mmamaroon:
You could wait and see if they extend medicals again, they just might since you already have PPR.

OR

try Qlife, if a date is confirmed, go with your passports and ATM card - IRCC said if they require remeds they would contact you though, so don't know about this second option...ps: if you decide to book, no need to tell them any details about your application, just call to book for medicals. aslo try calling IOM again without giving any background story, just ask to book for medicals. All the best!

I know people who have not got PPR have done remeds at the 1 year anniversary of their old meds without any issues. In fact my advise to all AOR 2019 peeps is to do remeds now and CSE your remeds eMedical to IRCC.

Your score will be recalculated if you change to spouse accompanying after ITA. If it falls below the minimum CRS for that draw, the application will be declined and you will have to start again.

The adding after ITA/AOR thing (without getting the score recalculated) works for people who are not yet married at AOR, but get married after AOR.

amzienoni:
Good evening, please I need an information. My birthday is approaching and am thinking of changing my profile to spouse unaccompanying. I will like to know if after I change to spouse unaccompanying the next draw comes down to a cut off value where I would have gotten ITA with spouse accompanying, can I change back to spouse accompanying after ITA?
Also, what are the requirements for spousal sponsorship for a permanent resident
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by amaya21: 9:26pm On Jan 14, 2021
I think you can book now to get a date that suits you. It is likely that the earliest available dates could be mid February, but depending on your schedule you might prefer a March date. Best to lock it down now.

TCAT:
my wedding is Feb ending, is it cool to book for medicals of my intending spouse now?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by amaya21: 10:13am On Jan 13, 2021
There is no requirement that someone has to be currently employed to apply for EE. It is up to her whether she wants to resign or not. She needs to make sure she has all the necessary documentation to prove the 3 years work experience though - that is what is important to IRCC.

Pegzzyg:
Good Morning everyone, it's been a long time here... Please, I wish to make an inquiry on behalf of a friend, let's call her Jum. So, Jum is current employed but wishes to resign before applying for EE process. Can Jum resign & be unemployed while she apply for EE, even though she will be claiming a 3years work experience for the same job role? Jum is still at the preliminary stage of crushing IELTS & ECA in view too. Kindly assist with your guidance as I will be showing her your responses. Thanks all for in anticipation...

It is not required for him to evaluate his certificate(s) if you are the PA. However, most people applying will have their spouse evaluate for extra points - every (legitimate) point counts in this journey!

delaveres:
Good afternoon,

Please, does my husband need to analyse his results too if i'm the primary applicant?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by amaya21: 3:23pm On Jan 10, 2021
Look at what IRCC says here: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=343&top=14

Dependents can land either with the PA or after (certainly not before). IRCC gives you a choice. However, the PA must land first and of course the COPRs for the dependents should not have expired.

So if you don't want to pay for tickets twice, your wife and the child can stay back while she waits out her resignation period. You as the PA can land first.

Soft landing is equally an option but as you said you would have to pay for tickets twice.

Please please please take into consideration the expiry of your COPR - you don't want it to expire while she's waiting out that 3 month timeframe.

seunpinky:
I am in a dilemma and I would appreciate your opinions as to which option to go with. My wife works with one of the Big 4s and she needs to give them 3months notice b4 resignation.

Option 1: I land alone, try to settle into the country and make adequate provisions for her and the kid. With this plan, wife and kid would come after her 3months notice period. However, someone told me that if I come alone, immigration may not allow them entry because I am the PA and that the PA is expected to travel with them.

Option 2: She applies for leave from work and We all come together but she and d kid do softlanding. They return back to Nigeria after spending one month and she drops her resignation letter and wait out the 3 months notice period. My issue with the second option is that we would have to spend money on flight twice..

Pls house I need your opinions

Send an email to the email address in the message you just quoted

hateniger:
Please tell us how to send our package to London naho. Or any other VFS. I thought it's mandatory that we send it to Accra.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by amaya21: 6:29am On Jan 10, 2021
Thanks, I will look into this. Amen to your prayers. If you're still waiting in any stage, I wish you the same.

Miredo:
Have you considered Dubai or Cairo? Some people in my group that got PPR were talking about it. Although no concrete arrangements yet. London is on lockdown and your passport may also be delayed there. It's worth researching.
May Canada favor you and the rest of this journey be smooth for you in Jesus name Amen

I emailed the London VFS at info.canuk@vfshelpline.com and they sent me instructions on what to do. I haven't sent my package yet.

Guys, PPR landed yesterday!!!!!!

AOR: Sep 10, 2019 (yes, you read that correctly)

VO: Accra

PPR: 8th January 2021.

No idea why it took so long - I had no ADRs and I sent plenty of webforms and emails. Anyway, the point is that Accra has finally released us. Thank God!!!

Excellent news and congratulations!!!! There is light at the end of the tunnel for the rest of us 2019 stuck in Accra.

SunshineD1:
Praise the Lord!!!
PPR... Finally.

I came across this thread on Nairaland some months after AOR, in fact we were already PPR expectant and reading PPR/landing gists, gave me great joy.

To appreciate how long and frustrating this journey was, I'll say this:

I unexpectedly fell preggers like that my friend Linda grin. This was few months after AOR

We were excited about the intending Canny baby.

Let's sha say that AVO and Covid dashed that dream. That baby that was formed few months after AOR will clock one in a few months time.

E shock una abi... So you guys will appreciate how myself and many others waited for this PPR like no man's business.

It has definitely ended in Praise and Thanksgiving.

PPR will fall on every single one waiting by the grace of God. Amen

To all those that mentioned me and prayed for this, THANK YOU

SunshineD1:

They sure do lucky dips where they pick any application and work on it, abi how do we explain these things. I hear say 2018 wey no get issue still dey wait with all parameters passed.
I go soon come testify to the goodness of God on this app.

Age of the secondary applicant doesn't play a role in increasing/reducing the score before ITA. This only applies for the primary applicant.

However, if the primary applicant has both IELTS and ECA ready, he/she should enter the pool ASAP to take advantage of any tie breaking advantages.

Travelpes:
Good morning All,

Got a good score in IELTS after six earlier attempts. Given the facts below, will my score reduce if I do not enter pool now?

IELTS: S8, R9, L9, W7
Current Score on CRS tool checker - 472
Primary Applicant - Age 33 (will be 34year by July, 2021)
Secondary Applicant – Age 35 (will be 36years old by December 3, 2020) - will this reduce the score if I submit after her birthday?

I will appreciate views on this. Thank you.

Yes, he needs medicals. And he will need an international passport to do the medicals.

Yes, the POF needs to cover all 3 of you.

autolearner:
Good Morning all... Please I need a second opinion on this.

Background: Family of 3

1. The 3rd is a non-accompanying dependent of 5years old, is he required to take the IRCC medical test? If Yes, can he get it done without an International Passport?

2. Are we still to provide POF that covers 3 of us, despite the dependent non-accompanying?

Thank you.

Can't claim points for any work experience older than 10 years.

nasohian:
For someone who left his previous company over 10 years ago and the company is no more in existence.Would there still need to get a reference letter?
If yes what can be done?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by amaya21: 8:50am On Nov 12, 2020
You are saying he left over 9 years ago. PCCs are only required for countries you have lived in for 6 months in a row over the last 10 years. You don't need PCCs for anything over 10 years back from the date of your ITA.

Calculate your hubby's dates well to see if he meets that criteria. (If you've already calculated it properly, you can ignore this).

shadama:
Were you able to do it from ministry of interior? I wasn't able to, don't remember exactly what the challenge was but it seemed it would be easier for someone who is still in the UAE.
Anyway after struggling with MOI website, I went to Dubai police website (though more expensive) and did my own easily with my old Emirates ID number. I have gotten mine, received it within a few hours.
My husband never had an Emirates ID (as he left there over 9 yrs ago before it became a thing) so he has to send his fingerprints. That's where the wahala is now because it has to be stamped from their embassy here and they say they don't stamp such. It's been a struggle because no one has been able to give us straightforward info. Finally sha they said they will stamp a Nig police report so we're doing a new one for them.

Simulate your scores first with you as the PA, and then your wife. I suspect you may have a better chance as you have more years of work experience. You may not need French. Use 8777 (8 in listening) to simulate, and then aim to score that as a minimum in the real exam.

nellyball:
I will also be taking the test with my wife. abbeynelsonfrancis@gmail.com.

I have been following the thread from inception. Considering my CRS simulation score, i have made up my mind to give it a shot as God will help me.
I am 29years old, married with Msc in information Technology as well as my wife (25years Msc). I have over 5years working experience in 2 different multinational companies as an I.T officer. I believe with God on our side, IELTS examination will be to our favor...

Fill no in the work experience section.

However, put all his work experience over the last ten years in the personal history section.

Oredee:
Good morning everyone. It's such an informative thread and I say thank you to everyone who keeps sharing to enlighten us all. Please I need some clarification. My husband is the secondary applicant and I am not claiming any points for his work experience. I understand that filling work history will require I get documents to prove this so while creating the EE profile, should I fill 'No' in the work experience section where I'm being asked if he has work experience?Hope it doesn't appear as a form of misrepresentation? Thank you in anticipation for your response
