I'm really struggling to see the similarity between the issue in discuss and the analogy you painted.

For a start the telecom industry was never subsidised and NItel services prior to the advent of the GSM were hardwired connections with very obsolete equipment.

Talking about how GLO crashed the price of Communication, that notion is just a fluke... what they did was introduce per second billing platform...and the credit goes to full deregulation of the sector which brings about healthy competition amongst industry players and that is what the government of the day intends to replicate in the Petroleum industry.

What you should be critical about should be the lack of safety nets put in place to mitigate the impact of the subsidy removal and not the policy itself.
